Way of the Future?
I have always had this idea maybe someone can give me a hand with it. Hydrogen and oxygen gases are combustible when ignited. The best ratio is like 3 to 2 or something like that, I don't remember. --Water as fuel. Having a battery on board the car and a system that puts water through the chemical reaction of electrolysis to seperate h20 into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas, and then the gases are sent to the combustion chamber where ignited to propel the engine. Kind of similar to a an experiment in chemistry a few years ago.

Original Z Color? What Code?
I am sorry for the repeat. Honostly , the appearance in the photos from the links I posted to the one HS30 posted look completely different. If I did not know they were the same car I would think other wise. The yellow appears so solid, yet in the other lighting it show up brown and yellow. Kind of let me down finding out it was the 920 gold. No offense to the 920 loyal following, it is just not my thing; I am going for a pure yellow

Original Z Color? What Code?
I would like to stay with a stock Z color, although I really want a vibrant yellow. In this case I can't really tell which is which. A paint color is one of the most important decisions for me on my car. I still have some time to think it over.... The change of lighting really makes the shade look different

Original Z Color? What Code?
I guess it just kind of through me off when I went to the website (posted below). The 919 yellow on that website doesn't seem to match, but that may just be the photo. http://www.datsunprojects.org/zpaintcodes/

Original Z Color? What Code?
I have come across a photo of a Fairlady 432 in alien-e's gallery. The color was stunning, I couldn't get enough of it. He took the photos from the Sports Car Graffiti in Japan. Is this an original Z color, but just for the 432's? I checked the website with stock colors for 240Zs just to make sure I wasn't missing something. Also does anybody know the color code on this beauty? Here are some links to alien-e's gallery of the photo I am talking about Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3 Photo 4

Frame Damage
Well when I went up to this shop he had 2 Z's sitting in the parking lot which got me excited, they were probably a 78 and an 81 or so. So he has had some Z experience, I don't know how much though. I'll have to ask him. As for the extent of the frame damage it appears only to be on the front right corner. I looked at the frame and it had a couple dings from junky jacks lifting using the frame, that is all it seemed. It looked decent. Although I did say this. On the passenger side the floor is raised up (an anti-dent if you will) I do not know if this was the same accident or not. So I'll have the frame man asses this. I had been saving for a paint job, but it looks like this will have to come first  Ron I wish I could just start with a new chassis like you did, but I am just a student in high school and can't cut the money for that. Plus the more I feel like I got ripped off on this car, I just couldn't do that. The whole thing just makes me angry

Frame Damage
Has anybody had any experience with frame straightening? I am curious about how much this is going to cost, but I can't get a really get an appraisal without getting the car towed. I have a local shop that does frame straightening, he said he would come to my house and give me his oppinion and an estimate on it. That is only one shop, is it worth it renting a towing unit and borrowing a friends truck? Over the phone the local man told me a few hundred as a guess, but I really have no idea how much this will cost.

if you designed the new z...
I agree with dogma. The 350Z is very audi TT. Wether or not there were any styling cues taken or it was just a coincidence, the tt was released first, then when the 350 arrived many though it was a copy. I am not trying to state it was a copy, just that many people I know thought it was. At least the golld z concept had originality and does not look like many cars on the road. I would have preferred the concept over the production.

Time for a rebuild!
I wish I could do more than just a plain stock rebuild, but the funds don't warrent it, as I am doing an entire restoration. There will be a paint job soon to come and many other purcahses along with it. So in my case a stock rebuild will be all I can afford. I can always add more later

Time for a rebuild!
ed when you talk about arp bolts to replace old ones, which bolts is it most necessary to replace? I am just about to begin the rebuild, and I have my datsun engine rebuild book on the way

Internet Relay Chat (IRC)
IRC is a great thing. I have used it for many purposes. I endorse mIRC also, it works well. A chat would be very neat, but I wonder how many people would use it. You could just set up scheduled times for meeting to chat?

Frame Damage
As the Z car got smaller and smaller as I am disassembling it, it became clear to me that she has been in a few minor accidents over the years. The passenger side floor board is raised up and dented upwards. Really I am writing this for any opinions on another are of body damage The front left of the car has been damaged, spanning from where the headlight scoops mount to the crossmember, which is also bent. Look at the photos. The cross member circles also became misconstrued. I realize it is not very major, although if I am getting the car painted and am spending this much time to make retstore it I want it to look the best possbile. I know that replacing it would be overkill, so my next best bet is to make it look the best I can. Thanks in advance to all who offer opinions. The first photo is the undamaged side

No Brake Lights! Have A Fix-It Ticket!!!
There was an episode of myth-busters like that. They used a 22 cal. round in the fuse, and after a little bit a toying, they got it to fire off, burrowing into the skin of the dummy

Engine Hoisting
Many people use new bolts rather than the brackets, beause brackets has broken in many cases; also many do not trust the entire wiehg tof engine and tranny on two 30 year old bolts.

One for the purists!

240z and her beautiful roar
My 240Z before disassembly began. Stock engine and all, with headers. Stock exhaust also. Sounds wonderful. it would not let me post just a sound file so I made the smallest mpeg I could with this. The wmv's just didn't sound as good.
