  1. The hose on the first fuel injector has cracked open. How exactly do I go about replacing it? Do I have to replace the whole injector or can I just put a new hose on? Is it possible to loosen up the fuel rail enough to lift it up to get the hose in place or will I have to pull the whole rail off to do it? If I can just replace the hose what type of hose exactly is needed and what size and diameter is it? Thank you!
  2. This auction on Ebay is funny. This guy is desperate to get rid of a Ford Probe. His description is hilarious! Ford Probe auction
  3. Cool. I was wondering what was going on. I am completely new to manual transmissions. I hope it just needs oil then. How do I change the oil in it and what oil do I use?
  4. This may be a dumb question but my 280Z is the first stick I've ever driven so I was wondering if this is normal. When I'm driving and I'm coming to a stop light I push the clutch pedal all the way in and then step on the brake. As I'm slowing down to a stop I try to shift back into 1st gear for when I'm ready to take off again but it won't go back into 1st gear until the car has completely stoppped moving. Is that normal? I can shift into any other gear while the car is rolling just not 1st. Is my clutch going bad maybe? I'm new to manual transmissions so I have no idea. Also today when I went to leave work I tried to shift into reverse to back out of the parking lot and the stick kept vibrating hard and pushing itself back out of reverse before I could even try to take off. I had the clutch pedal all the way in before I tried to shift it. After two tries it stopped doing that and went into reverse fine. Is something wrong here?
  5. What the hell is going on with this thing? I went out last night and the turn signals worked perfect. As far as the "mushy" feeling goes, that doesn't seem to be any problem. They move easily enough and always click back into place after turning. But for some unknown reason they worked last night. If your turn signals worked sometimes and other times they didn't what would you think is the problem? A bad wire somewhere that sometimes is shorting out and sometimes not? Are one of the fusible links in the engine bay related to the turn signals?

  8. hehe! Sorry.
  9. Hell yeah. There's no comparison between an e16 and an sr20de. Nissan gave the b13 NX a much better engine. The best you can do for a first generation model is the e15et. All 3 generations of these cars are weird looking though. I think that's why I always liked them so much. Though they don't have anything on a Z car obviously.
  10. By the way for those here with an NX there's a Australian site for those cars at nissanexa.com
  11. I think you have it right there! I have been messing with mine some more. My torsion rod was installed upside down and I put it on correctly however this didn't do anything for the problem. After removing all the accelerater linkage one piece at a time to figure out where the sticking was occuring I traced it to this part that I have circled in the picture. I'm a bit of a novice but this is the throttle body right? The part of the linkage that connects into this throttle part is where the sticking is happening. If there was some way to set the accelerater linkage's rest point to just a tad higher than where it normally sits then the sticking doesn't happen. I have noticed though that sometimes it sticks while driving, not just in it's rest position but when I'm driving and let off the gas the gas doesn't actually let up. For instance I come up to a stop light and put my foot on the brake and see that the rpms are still like 2000 or something and I have to tap the pedal to unstick the linkage again. Maybe the linkage piece on the throttle needs to be removed and cleaned up? What am I up against if I pull that piece off? I see two springs, the lever piece and a bolt holding it all in but is anything else inside there as well?
  12. Well my idea was to stretch the spring under the little copper contact piece to make sure that little copper piece was making contact with the contact points on the circuit board. Didn't do any good. I'm going to have to find someone to do some electrical tests on this thing.
  13. I found your description. My turn signal switch is a little different from yours though. I thought of something to try however. If it doesn't work I'll be back here again. Here's mine: Yours:

  15. OK since this is the first time I will have ever replaced a fusible link I thought I'd ask here and make sure I'm doing this right. Anyone know what gauge it needs to be? I bought a 16 gauge universal fusible link. Is that the right kind? Here's a picture of what I bought along with the link I took off the car. Is 16 gauge too big? The back of the package says the link must be two sizes smaller than the wire it will protect.
  16. A ha! The mighty NX (Exa) cars! The sunroof in mine is one of the things I really like about it. That and the fact that it's an incredibly weird looking car.
  17. You were correct! It was the fusible link causing the problem. The lower left one is for the headlights. I wiggled it and they came on. Apparently it has a bad connection or it's just no good from being bent around so much. Thanks for all the help. One problem down! Many more to go...
  18. Are these the fusable links you're talking about? Mine don't have the covers over them. On the last 280 I had there were plastic boxes covering these things. They look OK I guess. What would they look like if they were bad? They would be melted apart right?
  19. Anyone? I'm now having electrical problems as well. If anyone in the Kansas City area knows how to work on these cars as well as electrical work please let me know. My turn signals, head lights and dash lights don't work and I can't figure out why.
  20. ARRG!!! I'm getting so mad at this car. I still haven't gotten the turn signals to work. But now there's a new problem. I turned on my headlights while I was warming the car up but I noticed they were shining in myneighbors window so I switched them off to the parking light position. When I was ready to leave I switched them back to the headlight position and now the headlights don't work. I don't see any blown fuses so I have no idea what happened. dammit! I have noticed that the dashlights never came on while the car had the parking lights on. The dash lights only came on when it was switched to the headlight position. I'm really thinking whoever wired this car hooked up stuff wrong everywhere.
