  1. I don't have the setup but most setups i have seen run the low pressure holley regulator 1-4 PSI set around 3.5-4 psi and they don't run a return line.
  2. I put my Datsun Comp intake up on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131475877095?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  3. I say invest in another engine (what ever type you want) and keep it. Some people spend thousands of dollars on psychiatrists just to feel a fraction of the satisfaction that a Z can give you.

Nope and i don't think they were. I have seen photos of the NISMO ones. No stamping.

    Here you go.

Yep seen those, but they are not the Datsun Competition ones. They are the Harada's or Tomei's which look really similar. The Datsun Competition ones come with a non adjustable linkage. The far left linkage hole is a screw type also.

Hopefully I am in the right subforum. I have a Datsun Competition intake and I am thinking about selling it with my SK triple carbs to go towards other more necessary parts. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea of what maybe the intake alone would sell for. I saw some NOS ones through Japan that were asking over 1K. I know that most used triple intakes sell for around 300 with linkages etc. I just don't know if the guys with period correct race cars would specifically look for this intake etc. and if it commanded a premium.
  8. My eyes hurt after looking at all that yellow. The yellow one in Denver has been for sale on and off for this past year. Here in Denver, the front bumper isn't necessary but you do need a front license plate.

Not sure who's Z it is but it was eating tons of cars at Laguna Seca.

Its nice to know Datsun's are still held in high regard. Maybe someone can translate it.

They tried selling it on ebay a while back and it didn't meet the reserve. I think the bids were up in the high 30s or low 40s too.
  12. My Z came with the mechanical fuel pump already blocked off. From what I hear, especially in hotter parts of the nation is that the car can be susceptible to vapor lock due to the fuel and lines being right by the engine. If you run the a electrical fuel pump, you can run a fuel line by the firewall to the carbs helping to reduce the amount of heat on the lines.
  13. Couldn't get the link to work, was it some type of airtex model? How loud is it?
  14. Anyone have experience with the Holley Mighty Mite 12-426?It is a 4 PSI unit with good reviews and it is supposedly quiet too.
  15. It seems that the Mallory 4070 (4PSI) and 4110 (7 PSI) pumps are recommended for how quiet they are. Figured its recommended to run the Holley fuel pressure regulator with these units also. They are pricey though, and summit has a couple negative reviews regarding their dependability. I would like to find a quiet pump under 100 dollars also.
  16. Thanks for pointing that out, that really helps to solidify that the one I have is an original Datsun Competition version since it has that non adjustable type linkage on it also. I am going to be getting an aftermarket linkage for it also.

Do you mean the broadway rear view mirrors? I really want one of these mirrors http://page22.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/l273458534. I just cant justify the 300 dollar price tag.
  18. Measured the intake which came out to 44 on the carb side and 35mm on the engine side. The first photo is of the intake in Japan which matches my intake except for the bar that connects the runners one the one side. I was also able to find a NOS Nissan Comp intake with ad though that one doesn't come with measurements.
  19. I figured that the old one I have is a Datsun competition due to the just the wear and tear visible on the linkage and intake itself. There are actually quite a bit of these types of intakes for sale on yahoo auctions japan. I saw one the other day for about 70 dollars. My guess is worst case scenario about 100 dollars to ship one stateside. Not sure if there might be a resale market for them. I think that last rare intake I sold was a Mikuni shorty which I got close to 400 dollars for with complete linkage. My plan is to pick up a digital gauge and take some measurements. Maybe someone who has one can chime in.
  20. I picked up an old manifold that is a dead ringer for the Datsun competition manifold. The only problem is that while doing research I came across the Tomei manifoldwhich from the photos looks exactly the same. Did Tomei manufacture the Datsun competion intakes or did they just copy them?
  21. I was wondering if the Weber Isolators were interchangeable with the Mikuni Isolators. Pierce Manifolds sells two types, the smaller round ones and the mounting block type http://www.piercemanifolds.com/product_p/z70-216.htm.

Maybe I am a little confused. Does it go on the ridge on the hood like the photo below or on the actual cowel itself?

I am trying to figure out how to install the cowl weatherstrip. I take it, it gets glued down with it wrapping the metal strip? I was also wondering if it supposed to bend toward the engine or towards windshield. A photo would be much appreciated.
  25. What will it take to make a runner?
