They are selling under 300 dollars, shipping will cost quite a bit. My best guess is 400 total. I was planning on locating some 3.9 gearing for it. I have seen some ads that show it labled as for s30 and KGC10. Figured it must be the same long nose lsd for both but wanted to make sure.

I know that this might not be the right subforum but I figured yall might a bit more experience since you have more access to Skylines. I am looking at importing an r180 LOM55 LSD from Japan. It seems that from the ads they are being pulled off the KGC10s . I was wondering if the fitment was the same for the 240z, bolt size and axle size, spline count etc. I want to roll with an LSD but don't really have the power to justify swapping to a R200.

So I am looking for an LSD for my r200 carrier and I came across this diff that was for sale. I spoke to the vendor and he said that it wasn't an LSD even though it sure looks like one. Can someone maybe ID it?
  4. Surprised someone offered that much with the salvage title. I know with classics it isn't that much of a big deal. I think that the price is just because they are more rare. Even the junk 510s are over 4k where I live.

Nice video of a stroked Spirit Garage 240z with triple 50s in Japanese. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWXiRxxiqNM
  6. Yah i thought they might have overstated the cost of the vehicle. I just can't see how it would cost that much but I don't race.

You think that is bad, look at these two examples around my area... 1978 Datsun 280Z 1972 Datsun 240Z, price reduced, !!!!!

Sorry, im a little closer to mexico where you don't have to spend that much for body and paint for a good job but I am starting to see where some of the parts are adding up.

It looks like the bid is at 40k. Is someone driving the bid up hoping to catch a big fish. I would think that at 40k you could build one of your own. There is really nothing special about the car (series 1).

Thanks Mike. That is exactly what I needed.

I am missing a chunk of where the latch should be. I was hoping some could just measure one to give an approximate distance of where to weld the hatch support hinge.

Figured i would add a photo.

I am in the process of restoring a 280z but the hatch support hinges rusted off. I will be welding in new hinges and I was wondering if someone could give me the dimensions of where the hinge is located on each side. Approximately how many inches from the bottom and the top of the rear hatch area.
  14. Is there any way to tell if it is real datsun comp intake?
  15. From the twm's that I have seen they have similar linkage mounting as the canons. This one has a one piece cast design like a mikuni. I tried to look in the middle for twm or the mikuni stamp but nothing. It does have a vacuum port on the 6th cylinder like the Datsun Competition. Does anyone have a photo of the Datsun competition? I have tried to google with no luck.
  16. I am in the process of looking for a triple carb manifold and I have found one but I can't tell what version it is. I am familiar with the 4 manifolds such as cannon, mikuni, fet, and twm. I can't seem to tell what kind of manifold this one is. It looks like a cannon but has the linkage set up like a mikuni. I have attached photos and I am waiting for the vendor to see if there are any noticeable stampings. I don't see any in the photos.
  17. I tried ordering 17236-E4601 through nissan parts cc and they are out of stock. Is there another place where I might be able to find it?

I am actually stuck in the same situation with my lock set. I am missing the two locks. I am thinking about buying two new locks off ebay if have to.

My problem is the vehicle is completely missing the part. It looks like it got some rust in that spot and it broke off. I am planning on getting that piece cut out and re-welded but I don't have the replacement bracket. Maybe someone could measure the dimensions and I could pay for the welder to fab up a replacement piece?

Yeah, it looks like I might have to try to find one off a junk car or something. I did send him an email so hopefully I will hear back.

Sorry to revive an old thread. It looks like I am in need of the bracket that is welded on (mine must have rusted and broke off). Can someone point me in the right direction where I could find a replacement?

Thanks for the info. Well that completes my suspension mods, now on to wiring.
  23. Got mine done yesterday from craigslist mobile mechanic. 250 bux. If you undo the brake lines make sure you got spare brake fluid. You will most likely have to bleed the brakes.

I had some Eibachs installed today and after I got it back, I noticed that one of the rear springs was installed upside down. The lettering is upside down, luckily the rears were installed in the right place. I wanted to see if I should make a big deal about it. Is there any difference. Figured if it fit, it will probably be same either way. From what I can see, the top part, the notch lines up with the end of the spring.
