240z vs 260z suspension
I just picked up a full suspension from a late 260z up to the hubs and the lower control arms. I want to swap out with the shortened strut (previous owner) version that I have on my 240z because it rides too low. I was wondering what differences should I look for in parts. I plan to replace all the bushings and order new springs and shocks for the 260z set up.

240z vs 260z Rotor Question
I was surprised when comparing the two part numbers that they had the same width and diameter. I didn't know if there was maybe a difference in the hub size? The parts numbers for the 260z Power Slot 126-42004SR and Power Slot 126-42004SL Rotor Outside Diameter (in): 10.670 in. Rotor Thickness (in): 0.492 in. For the 240z Power Slot 126-42011SR Power Slot 126-42011SL Rotor Outside Diameter (in): 10.670 in. Rotor Thickness (in): 0.492 in.

240z vs 260z Rotor Question
I am in the process of looking to replace my front rotors on my 240z. I am looking at the Stop Tech Power slot rotors and when looking online I found the 260z rotors to be about 35 dollars cheaper per rotor. The website that I am on shows the 260z rotors fitting a 240z. I was wondering if there was any difference between the two model years?

Rotor and Pads question
I want to replace the front rotors and pads on my 72 240z. It has the stock set up and I would like to get a quality set of rotors and good street/auto-x pads. Anyone have any suggestions?

Tire/Rim size question
Thanks for the info everyone. I think I will just revert it back to stock. I'm in the process of getting the z ready for winter. Probably should allow me some time to save some funds for a new suspension come summer.

Tire/Rim size question
I have a 73 240z that is pretty much slammed (bought it that way). It is so low to the ground I can't even get a jack underneath it. The PO auto x it and my guess is that it has shortened struts. I want to actually raise the car 2 inches and I was wondering if I could accomplish this through a larger rim/tire. The car has zg flares and some xxrs with 215 50 15 tires on it. I would like to put a 17 inch rim but don't know what size tire and if it will actually raise the car. If not it looks like i will have to save up for some ground controls and matching shocks to raise it.

Crane Tach Adapter
The adapter info says also to make sure that it the adapter is not used with a Capacitive Discharge System. How do I find out if this is the case?
-
Rota RK-R
Spoke is different, i guess those don't work though, hub bore size is too small. Saw another version with 73mm bore size but staggered i believe +5 front and +10 rear.

Crane Tach Adapter
I have a 73 240Z with a Crane XR700 and Mallory Turbopower ignition coil. The tach is currently non functioning and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Crane Tach adapter. From the website it says that the adapter may or may not work. If it doesn't work, does anyone know what are some of the options for an aftermarket tach that fits within the dash? I have seen the autometer with the silver edge, but I didn't know if there might be some other brands out there.

Rota RK-R
Does anyone have these on their 240z? It looks like they make them in the right bolt pattern and offset, not sure about the bore size?

POR / Undercoating
Pretty cool stuff. I think I am going to rubberize the undercarriage and POR the interior then cover it with the self etching primer and paint to match. Would it matter which side is PORd?
-
POR / Undercoating
Got an email from the POR and they said that it should be okay to put rubberized undercoating over POR as long as you scuff up the area. They also said their was no need to throw primer on it.
-
POR / Undercoating
Can you throw undercoating over the Tie Coat primer? I would really like the undercarriage to be black.
-
POR / Undercoating
Thanks for the info. I probably don't want to take the risk that the undercoating would start to flake off. I think I am going to just por or rust bullet the metal on the parts that can't be seen. I don't know what to do for the undercarriage and interior though. How well does POR's self etching primer work?
-
POR / Undercoating
I am planning on bringing my 240z to a shell and then blasting it down to bare metal. I was wondering what to do with underneath the body, inside fender area, and frame rails. I have seen many people that use POR or just undercoating such as gator coating. My question is can you coat the car with POR and then shoot undercoating over it or should you just use one or other other? If you undercoat, do you need to POR the interior or is respraying with paint sufficient? I tried searching, but most just showed restorations just using one or the other.

stop light fuse box problem.
would spraying battery acid cleaner help on the sockets to get rid of the corrosion? or should i get some electrical cleaner. If the switch was malfunctioning would it be capable of causing the problem on its self?

stop light fuse box problem.
so on the passenger side harness i should be looking for white/red and white/black wires? Is it normal for one of the brake switch wires to spark when it touched metal?
