Put the Leather Scat ProCar seats from my '82 280ZXT into my '72 240z. Lumbar support is a beautiful thing!

  3. My 240 is currently in the air with no shocks or springs... I need to cut a coil off on the front to get the ride height even front to back... I'm on daddy duty almost all day tomorrow so I won't get time to finish it... and my 280ZXT is still in the body shop getting some more crap done to it. I'll have to meet you guys there in my HybridZ powered by a Honda D16 with full Honda Civic conversion body kit! HaHaHa!! See you tomorrow!
  4. Yup! It's going to be a busy summer! :stupid:
  5. We're up to about 35 people so far. It's turning out to be a pretty good show!

I would like everyone to take a moment of silence. This year on Jan. 27th a truly great man in Z car history left this world. Turbo Tom and his girlfriend were both killed in an auto accident on the 27th. Tom was a true pioneer in forced induction on the Z cars for many years. Before the end of December we had been discussing the development of a new turbo exhaust manifold for my Z with a T4 flange. With the holidays and everyones busy schedule, we hadn't spoken in some time and I figured we'd get back around to it once things settled down. Unfortunately, that will never happen. Tom was a tremendous contributor to the Z car world and incredibly generous with his decades of Z car engineering knowledge. We're all a little less for this loss. Thank you, lww

Actually, I went outside after reading this post and after spinning around in a circle I was able to conclude empirically that the world was revolving around me...
  9. Well... the FUN one of course! Seriously, I'm hoping to have the turbo finished but it's going to be down to the wire. I've still got about 6 weeks of work left to do...
  10. I'm still lookin' to put together a caravan... Also to find a good route east of the mountains to avoid the construction on I5 going into north LA. PM me if you're interested. lww

It appears that 3 TiVo's is the average of contributors to this thread. I find that very interesting. I wonder what a Sociologist would tell us about the socio-economic conditions that lead us to this particular interest in both Z cars and TV? By the way, I have 3. All series 1's (I'm an early adopter): 1 stand alone with 298 hours of recording time and 2 DirecTiVo's with 310 hours all upgraded w/ TiVo-NET and TiVo-WEB. My wife thought I was crazy when I bought the first one and now she wants to know why she can't pause, 5 second jump back and 30 second jump forward the radio too! The TiVo's really saved our marriage and her sanity when we had our first child. She has her's in the Den, I have mine in the living room and the SA is in the bedroom and I've wired the house with a video distribution system so we can watch what's on the Den and Living Room TiVo's from any TV in the house. It truly revolutionizes the way you watch TV.
  13. Ok everyone... I've finally found my 'perfect' 240z. It actually has an un-melted original fuse box! I want to keep it that way. I've corresponded with Dave and am getting the headlight relay upgrade and am really interested in the other upgrades you guys are working on. Looking forward to the final product! Cheers, lww

I'm only a few 'Buy It Now' clicks away from $35k on my '82 not including the trailer, lift, MIG welder or plasma cutter that adds up to another $7500 + miscellaneous other tools. If you include all that, I'm already over the $40k mark... And Jeff Priddy's car is probably better than mine, but he has over $40k in just parts, I figure he's got enough sweat equity in his to add another $40k to the price. It'll be a cold day in hell if my wife ever get's on this board and finds out... The $10k paint (already included in the total) is going on as we speak. I'm working my butt off to get it ready for MSA. Once the paint is done, I've gotta finish off the interior, clean up the notchy shifter and get the motor precisely tuned. I want to make a big splash on the dyno day.
  15. I haven't even BOUGHT my 240z yet, but now I can't wait! I'll be doing all the upgrades in this list as well as the headlight harness as soon as I find the 'perfect' 240z I'm looking for! How're things coming in the land of LED dashes and tail lights? Cheers, LWW

Yeah, my father had two convertible E Type jags, a '68 roadster w/inline 6 and a '72 V12 convertible and they were always being worked on. The good news, I learned to drive a stick in the '72 and developed a real appreciation for the long smooth curves that was a primal component of my Z car obsession. I still give him a hard time when I get the chance to point one out in the Robb Report that's going for $65,000!
