New Blue with white racing stripes
The body shop had it from August 05 to March 06, working between other jobs but did a good job repairing the body kit and painting. Interior is back in and it's to this level of "complete."

The Mitty 2006
Thanks for the help on the door and the headlight wiring. I'm in a Z-less area and have no local help to know what to do. I have had the car about 2 years and it spent 7 months at the paint shop. I still have a way to go and need mor knowledge.

Paint Stripe Opinions Please!!!! (ASAP)
Personally, I like sall the body parts to match and cary the stripe all the way but leaving the air dam and spoiler black can look good too. I'd stop the stripe or even continue the black stripe of it is different paint/shean from the spoiler and air dam (i.e. flat black on the spoiler and air dam - gloss on stripe) The reverse seems overkill to me too.

Just got it back!
Thanks! I wanted a blue and since the body kit is not factory I did'nt stick with factory colors. It's Dodge Viper blue (a lot of metallic) and white stripes with some pearl. It really pops in the sunlight. I've already had some ask what kind of car it was thinking that its was something new. When weather and time permits, I'm going to get some good pictures outside.

BEFORE3
Yes, my wife. She's understanding enough to let me have a Z and put a lot of time and money into it. That's one of the best kinds of Z chicks!

"World's worst interior" or "How to get a good deal on a Z"
Sorry. It's been gone for a while. Ebay has all kinds. Really it was well executed but not quite my style and I've got the interior back to original now.

Fender mirrors... OEM and alternative.
I know they are not JDM but they are a reasonably price alternative and I think they look pretty good. The chrome bullet mirrors I used from MSA, mirrors . You can see them in my gallery. I placed them in about the same place as JDM location and the only problem is that they don't overhange the fender line and the angle is too close. For less than $5 at WalMart the 4" hotspot convex mirrors attach seamlessly over the flat mirror and give great visability and no blind spots. If he's not in your center mirror or the side, you can see him out of the corner of your eye. I actually like the bullets over the goosenecks from a looks standpoint. IMHO, I should say before getting blasted.

Dumb question: 71 240Z Windshield Washer
Thanks. It's not there. Not the Highest priority, but on the long list. Another short list problem. I had to get wiper blades when one came off last night. Lucky I let the parts place man try to mount the "univeral" wiper blades. He broke 2 before getting one to "fit." They work but the frame doesn't flex enough for the tips to contact the glass completely. Any special wipers y'all use?

Dumb question: 71 240Z Windshield Washer
Like I said, dumb question. Did the 71 240Z have a windshield washer? The switch is there but no tank and no evidence of washer nozzles. I know that the lever could have been changed at any time and might not be original. Anyone know if they all had them or when the started? John

Seat location in 71 240Z
While I had the seats out to be recovered, I cleaned and painted the base and tracks (did not disassemble). The seat base upolstry got was in the way and hung moving forward to start with but I fixed that. I guess it's hanging somewhere else too. I was just being lazy and hated to pull the whole thing to find out that it was that way all along. It wasn't that important. I don't sit over there anyway!

That's what I thought but I couldn't see anything. I'll dig a little further. Thanks for the responce. John

Who makes this mirror?
Looks like the mirrors on James Bond's Aston Martin Vanquish. (in the invisible mode )

Seat location in 71 240Z
This is a dumb question. I reupolstered the seats and when I put them back in, the pasenger seat doesn't go back as far as the drivers seat. This may have been the case before but I didn't realise it. Does the passenger side go back as far or not?

New AC installed
New AC from MSA installed a little tighter than they designed and with a few hose modifications, all hoses are basically hidden.
