I am currently working on the front suspension and steering. I pulled the "pivot" bolt holding the front control arm to the body but am having a hard time removing the bushing. Does anyone know any "tricks of the trade" on how to get them out. Mark

Sorry for misleading on that. The rest of the hardware is all new but the sprayers were restored to new condition via sandblasting. I do have a set that were polished and look good but dont fit my car. The base of the sprayer is a triangle shape and mine are a rectangle. If you are interested in them I can sell to you. Mark

Well I have been working every night on my Z's reassembly since I got it back from the body shop about a month ago. I have added a new page to my website showing some updates on the progress. Hope you enjoy. Comments and questions welcome. Mark http://www.my70z.com/reassebly.htm Feel free to browse the rest of the site by hitting the home button on the bottom of this page.
  9. That is just plain foul. Thats what happens when people get a tax refund and dont know how to spend it. I can never understand why you would want to alter the appearance of Z. It has very classic lines and looks great from the factory. (except for those old hubcaps). This car looks like an abortion gone wrong!! Mark

Thanks for the tip Carl. I just gave it a try and taping it up on the dry run makes it a lot easier when you are cementing in sections. With an old car, the metal trim that I am trying to attach the rubber to is kind of bent and it makes it hard to cement. This should work though. Thanks Mark

  15. Its Factory orange paint code 918 from 1970. Hard to tell from the photos. All body and paint was $6500. See website for detail of work perfomed. www.my70z.com Mark
  16. thanks for the remarks. I did not paint the underneath. I am going to be removing the suspension and steering rack and powder coating black. Same with the grill and rear tail panal. Will send more photos or you can check out website for updates. Mark PS. Will be a Z car nationals this weekend. Hope to see you all there
  17. Well after more than four months of body and paint I finally got my Z back today. It looks amazing. I went with a multicoat (5 total) single stage paint. This paint would put a Porsche to shame. I am so happy with the way it turned out. Check out the photos on my website. They really dont do it justice. I am going to take the next year to reassemble and hopefully have it ready for the Z car nationals in Orange County next year. http://66.155.22.117/paintedZ.htm Enjoy.

There ought to be a law against mutalating a Z. Some people just dont know when to stop going to Pep Boys. Here is another example of a hideous Z for sale on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2410547796&category=6187 Attached is a quick snap shot.
