  1. The Rebello path may be the way I want to go then. Do you have any more information on them? Do they have a website?

    your link doesnt work
  3. Well, on Zcarparts.com it said that the cam would work well with the tripple carb... depends i spose... i dont want a hoppin hot-rod, i just want a street rod kinda feel. Around 200hp, and a tight, go-kart feel.
  4. Cool, thanks a lot.
  5. I was looking through my October 2003 issue of Sport Compact Car and came across a "Street Sleepers" section, where a 240z with a 383 chevy was wedged under the hood. It says the owner is Rick Johnson, and that the car is a 73'. Does Rick belong to this forum? Or has anyone else seen this issue? It says he's from L.A. so, i dont know if that'll help. Thanks!
  6. Cool, sorry if that was a stupid question...
  7. I was wondering if these plans would boost the power of the 240 to around 200. Also, has anyone tried any of these, and do these sound like good ideas? I know it's a little over-kill, but you guys be the judge, im new at this. My plans include: Stage II, Performance Cam Performance Pistons and rings Motorsport headers Turbo Exhaust system Centerforce II clutch New Flywheel Mallory Dual Point Distributor XR 70 Ignition Crane LX-92 Coil Iridium NGK plugs Blue Taylor Hi-Pro wires Rocker arm, lash pad, and spring kits Weber 40DOCE tripple carb kit with Air Horns, and K&N filters That's about it as far as the motor itself. I'll also add upgraded fuel filters and pump. Other plans for the car include anti roll bars, anti sway bars, urithane bushings (if i can find them somewhere), vented disks in the front, performance pads all around, steel braided brake lines, rebuilt master cylinder, Tokico shocks and struts, and a short throw shifter. Lots of work, but all at under 7000 bucks... So not too bad.

Does anyone have the tripple webber configurations on their car? If not, how about the double? or a 4 barrel? I'm looking at different carb options and wondering which wone would work better with a stage 2 cam. If anyone's got any pics, post them! .
  9. I noticed on Zcarparts.com in the store the only floor pans they sell are for the 280z and they're sold for over 300 bucks... would these fit on the 72' 240z? THanks

So I was talking to my father about the possibility of getting a 72' Z and he seemed kinda excited. His only worry was that back in the day, these were the cheap sports cars that teens used to "beat the wizz out of". Does anyone know of any Z's for sale in the New England area???? Car must run and drive... paint, i dont care, body, i dont mind so much.... but anything will be appreciated. Peace.
  11. Yeah guys... I'm missing out here!

how much horsepower does a stock twin carb 240z straight 6 sohc crank out???
  13. , thanks a lot Will, that really put it in perspective... How much HorsePower will the stock twincarb straight6 crank out???
  14. Craig, Thanks a lot for the help. I've always loved the look of these cars from when I was younger. I understand there's always a lot of work involved with starting either a restoration project, or even just purchasing a second-hand 30 year old vehicle. I figure the car has sleek style with modern and classic musscle hughes, and it's also a bulky thick-steel car. It's not like a civic or something where if you ding a fender you have to replace it... the Z will need a LOT more damage before you have to replace the part... plus if you do ding it... just pull out the hammers. Is there anything to compare them to? Are they supposed to feel chincey? or sporty and tight? or are they like driving a small camaro? Thanks again, and nice to make your acquaintance. Anyone that can help, or answer, feel free to e-mail me or reply to this... *supermandan03@yahoo.com* DannyMoped
  15. Hi, I'm new to this forum and I was going to inquire about a few thing about the 1972 260z, standard (I dont know if it's a 5 speed or 4 speed). The one I'm looking at is Blue with a White interior... (kinda messy) but the outside is beautiful. There's no rust, and the paint is perfect. It has 89thousand miles on it. I've yet to test drive it. But i've called the owner and he wants 3500 for it. 1. Is this a reasonable price? 2. How do these cars perform? (speed, handling, overall feel) 3. Is this a good car that I can drive and not worry about... as far as dependability, gas milage, and over-all longevity? I've seen some pretty tricked out, muscelly looking ones... I call them mini-mustangs , because they remind me of an old shelby fastback. I'm a college student of 19 living in New England, and i am a MAJOR car enthusiest... if it needs fixing i'll fix it... I'm a proficient welder and metal worker... and I know my way around a motor... Is this car for me? Thanks guys.
