  1. Jeezuz - by the looks of it a garaged authentic and original kpgc110 :rambo:!! Only travelled 43000km too...Still, $116,113 Australian (to be precise) - thats a bit steep isnt it?! Based on the last batch of skylines posted in this thread, this one certainly appears to be exorbitantly priced in comparison...thoughts..?? Also, this is a bit of a hijack really, but would any of you c110 guys out there be interested in a gl coupe rear light panel with lights? Im interested in selling it - any offers (the rhs lights have been detached in the background of the photo)?
  2. Ive got a feeling ive seen this car before, advertised and displayed on this forum some time ago.....does anyone remember? Nice looking car though, apart from the colour coded rear panel

    Wtf?????????????????????????????????
  4. Yep, indeed the chrome trim you are speaking of, NZeder, almost always has a ding in it of some proportion. I have yet to see a K with ding-less chrome trim on either the front or the rear - i guess NOS is the only answer if 100% straight trim is what youre after. Could damaged trim be repaired....???

Damn Craig, thats terrible. Lucky you got out of it unscathed. Im interested to know, howd the culprit react to his misdoings - apologetic or denying? And where in perth did it occur, anywhere notorious? Hmmm a k man now, i guess ive got some competition! I think itll be good when you find one though, as there is no-one here that i know of who i can share info with. I hope the insurance claiming process isnt too painfull. Tom
  6. I know, thats what i was exemplifying...and thats why i described it as "a c110 article," not a whole c110...
  7. Another tasty c110 article on Yahoo.jp....$192 Aus dollars... if only he shipped internationally :lick: http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e15240210 Heres what you were talking about, lach, with the laurel indicators...$119... Oh and i know this isnt related, but one of the gtr replica sellers is also selling this:

  9. Cheers Lachlan+Miles, these are all great to look at. If only there was the same sort of market for c110's in Australia...oooohhh, what a million dollars and a large shed would do... Whats with the different left fender indicator lense on the red c110 coupe gtr replica? Ive recently noticed one particular difference between the oz delivered c110's and the JDM variations. On the centre console behind the handbrake and in front of the small central box compartment, theres a small array of switchgear that isnt present on our cars...?? Its purpose? Oh and the japanese sure had a wide range of grill options on their c110's - most of them hideous. I wonder what that kpgc110 will sell for? I wonder why the museum would be selling it...?

ARhgehwghewghwegjh... Something like this id take in a heartbeat..no-one wants to sell their 240k in wa...Sounds like a good buy anyway Lach, enjoy it. Do oyu think you would be using much more than the gearbox and driveshaft?

Probably at least a couple of thou... My parents just recently shipped a home's worth of furniture and belongings to the middle east [dubai] and that was up around the $2k mark, so i imagine a car would be a similar ask...

Thats ridiculous...maybe i should ship my car to the UK and see what i can get for it...

Hmmm first cars ey? My first car was probably the least respectable car mentioned here, a 1975 Renault 12 wagon, given to me for free . Internally it was pretty good, in fact almost pristine at time of purchase, however rust had taken an unrelenting grasp on the body and there were chasms of rust EVERYWHERE. One particular location had a hole as big as my fist...there were many more bordering on that size. The little 1.4 pushrod 4 was pretty gutless, although mine [and i think all] Renault 12 was equipped with a single downdraft webber which funnily provided keener throttle response than my dad's camry. I managed to almost fry the clutch, I lost second gear completely, and after a succession of handbrake manouvers, the rear drums had enough and began to spew brake fluid out at an alarming rate...I had to top it up every day i think... A wrecker ended up paying my $80 for it, upon the purchase of my c110...

Fantastic car brain, id do anything for the mechanical set up you have on your car on mine. Hope to hear the progress on the car as its made - more pics too I just had a thought, thought. There is a relative scarcity of rb26 motors, and for that matter a majority of japanese import motors. How do you guys run your machines on the dishwater quality of American fuel? Additives, octane boosters or just putting up with it? [i dont know if some highly strung motors would run...?] Regards, Tom

Beat me to the post, The Barras 4.0l twin-cam would most definitely be great option, whether in NA or turbo form. I dont beleive there are any I6 motors produced by a local manufacturer in the US that compare to it. Firing up the 'truck motor' debate a little more, Nissan does produce a big cube I6 that could be a possibility for the Z [space would obviously be the only issue]. Its the 4.8l twin-cam unit found in the Nissan Patrol! Quite likely gargantuan in size, it nonetheless produces grin-inducing tourque!! :D Aussie260z, the 265 hemi found in the VH R/T Charger was indeed a legendary motor. If memory serves me correctly, however, that car did not hold the 1/4 mile saloon car record in Australia for the 25 years that you speak of. It was most definitely the Phase III GTHO Falcon, with a time of 13.8 seconds [i think]. The Charger was, however, a fantastic compeditor to the Phase III, and both cars were legends in Australian Automotive history....if only Nissan had taken the plunge and homoglated the KPGC10 or KPGC110 to compete against these beasts..[they were thinking about it]!!! I guess, effectively, we discovered the answer to that possibility in 89', '90 when the R32 GTR dominated..... Cheers, Tom

Okay, thanks to Prolaxamus' excellent site i have found several links [but only this one works] to the above mentioned video : http://www.kika.ru/video/ClimbDance.mpg Thanks once again, prolaxamus, and Boyd, the moderator on the Tremek forum for originally posting these links on that site. {EDIT} Just tested all the links, haha, and only the last one worked....

Hey Tomo, I have spent long and arduous nights searching the web and p2p file sharing programs for similar footage - and so far, not a great deal has come up I do, however, have the same video Sean is speaking of, but it it does not depict an Audi. The video is entitled 'Climb Dance' and is probably one of the most masterful pieces of Automotive footage i have witnessed. Ari Vatanen dancing his Peugeot 405 T16 [producing near 600hp] across the undulations of the pikes peak course, coming within inches of 'sheer-drop' edges, having to drive one handed[!!!! :stupid: ] on several occasions due to his other hand being employed as a sun visor, and concluding in a record time [that was not beaten for many years i understand]. Definitely must-see motorsport footage imo, if anyone could host it, i would be more than happy to upload as i have a fast broadband connection. If you are able to find any footage of the legendary Audi Quattros of the same era, please share it,as i too am dying for more of both group b rallying and late eighties pikes peak. Many regards, Tom

Hrm 2000GBP? U gotta be kidding?!?!? Its pretty rusted up below the doors, and i reckon it wouldnt be worth 2k even with those wheels on it....I know this car from another British datsun website too...

Gday, Im having a bit of a dilemma in getting new brake pads for my c110. Im interested in some EBC green-stuff pads, but as far as i know, the closest thing to the C110 they produce pads for is the 240z. Does anyone know if pads made for the 240z's front calipers would be compatible with the C110's? How about for the rear too? Any response is greatly appreciated. Regards, Tom

Great to hear from you, Michael, your car looks fantastic! Hows the difference with the SU's, pretty big i would imagine? Did you match-port the head to line up cleanly with the z manifold? Whats in the works for the c110? Did you have any interesting comments regarding your car's significance from the attendees at the datsun meet, or are they all friends? Any interesting comments from anyone for that matter? Ahhhh wonderful ZG, just a shame about the vynil roof !!!! Probably one of the only examples ive seen wearing said roof - there were a few posts regarding the vynil roof as an option in a recent thread....! Im haging out for a full side-on pic Lach, after the changes have been made :classic: Did you mention employing adjustable camber plates [i think thats whey are...correct me someone..??]? Tom

Aha, Kent, thats a fantastical idea!! [improper gamma intended] I think your japanese police rally car will have to be the most unique c110 by far!! I guess the positive is that you will be able to show it off soon, despite your more serious c110 being put on hold...:classic: Lachlan, i know how Warren is too, but its nice that someone has bothered to keep these 30+ year old parts for us 'enthusiasts' to drool over - just a pain when you have to repeat youself many, many times . I was chasing an indicator lense from him, but i ended up finding second hand items [for both sides] for a fraction of the price Ive been eyeing off a c110 sedan that lives around here, driven by an old man and what appears to be in great condition - the source of spare parts perhaps. I managed to find out the hard way [and this was a long way back], that the khgc rear light panel does not fit the sedan....major drilling and grinding is required... :lick: :tapemouth Your car is stunning, you should start going along to some datsun shows, just to stir things up a little I agree about the suspension, however, after thinking about it, maybe this is the only way it can be [for the rear that is]? The rear end uses A-arms for its IRS which pivot from a static point. If you are to lower the springs a great deal, you will end up with massive amounts of camber...Perhaps if you were to install adjustable camber plates, to correct the negative camber once lowered, it could work? Good luck anyhow :rambo: Good to hear that your projects are continuing still, 440k and Razor, at least you havent given up on them yet! Is that a holiday to Japan Razor, if so thats still a massive positive [hey any holiday is a positive really ]. Ill detail as soon as i get the carb rekit done. Regards, Tom
