yea i got the head off the the one bolt that broke off is stick out of the block so it might be able to be saved.(vise grips mabye) now im just trying to get the flywheel off and the pulley. trying everything i can to keep it from turning

thx bamb it worked and only one bolt broke off. yea i had to fab up a long bar. the weird thing was this the one bolt that broke off had rust on it. so i guess i have to drill out the part that broke in the block?

before you even ask yes i do have the rebuild your nissan and datsun engine book as well as how to modify. i see what sequence how to take off the head in the book. but these 10mm allen bolts are tough. well to start i bought a L28 (n42 block) and im taking it apart. this engine has been out of the rain and has been sitting in a garage for some time. so the oil is stuck on everything. i already drained it and got all out of the oil pan. im trying everything i can do to get these bolts off. should i spray with oil pentrator or not. since i plan on cleaning anything anway i dont see it hurting it but i dont want to do something if it effect my head in the long run. i plan on getting a n42 but also plan on selling the n47 head. what ways have yall got your heads off. thx mat

well u know where to get my stuff at. even though its not pretty right now its still georgious in my eyes.

i know a couple of z that just use a saw to cut the bumper shocks off. of course u will have that part thats bolted up to your rail. people will ask how the hell did u get dual exhaust . yea droping the gas tank is hard. i did it and it took me a day to figure out this and that. like always their is something funny and it was the 180 bend in a hose. it would be a good idea to check under their and make sure all your hoses are in good shape anway. do what u want. its your z. one key thing those bumper shocks cost a pretty penny. more than .02 cents... jk jk. check out in a magazine and u will drop your jaw on its price. just rember have fun. with some oil pentration , good tools, and yelling bad words anything is possible .

My name is mat. yea i spell mathew with one t. i guess my mother was on some good stuff when she had me. im 19 and yes i know im younger than most of yall on the form but i have the same LOVE for the Z. I have always been a car person. I live in louisiana. most people down here are all in the 4X4 stuff. dont get me wrong their are car freaks down here. while most of my friends are trying to jack up their car to go over rocks im trying to get z road worthy. Im not one of those ricey new kids on the block. i love new imports but they have their ups and down. i have a 2002 eclipse (yes its stock and a fun daily driver) i was going to plan to beef up that car but the more i looked at parts the more i was limited to performance. its a good looking car and it does turn womens heads or in your case daughters.. jk jk. so during the summer i was working to save money for a project car. of course the first thing that came to mind was american muscle. i loved the sound of these cars. i came very close on good deals with some. for example 71 cuda, 74 mach1 fastback, and yes the good old 74 trans am. after getting in them and test driving them it was truly something different. the only thing that kept me from ever getting one was that the inside of these car where so huge. i felt like a little kid on a steering wheel. i guess thats why i love imports because of their smallness. i had a friend that was showing all these cars on ebay(by the way he and his dad are working on a 69 camaro) and some how we came across a datsun. i never seen a car like this. so of course i wanted to find more info on these awesome looking things. when i first saw these cars in person every curve on it was just drop dead sexy. then finally i got in the inside of these cars and i was just amazed. i felt like i was home in these cars. the dash really got my eye. Also it being just a 2 seater got my smile even bigger. so the next thing i know im searching for datsuns close by. took over a year but i finally got one. it is some work getting "o so sexy" but im having a blast with it. i have and still learning so much of these cars. i just went to the louisiana z club and these people were so nice. all the people on the forms are very helpful and accepting. so i have the impression that Z people are the nicest and one of a kind. i never knew that the z was so big when i first started. its great to see so much encourgment going on with the z.

i would have to say getting the rear passanger bumper shock bolts. those required alot of crap coming off before u could even see them. also alot of pentrating oil

im loving that z lancem. it really cleans up the body and i give you props for that mod.

i took off my bumpers. even though it was a mind trick to get them bumper shocks off it was worth it for me. taken bumpers off is not for everyone. i have a early 260. if u think about it the early z dont weight much as the todays cars do. since most vehicles are suv. its going to take more time for those vehicles to stop and you are infront of them just make sure u have your seatbelt on all the time. it will not be pretty. :sick:

how much would you pay for a zx 5speed tranney,3.9 diff and a 280z moustache bar? i im going to try to go for it cheap its just i want to know where i stand when going in their. gotta get teh game face going...

i have a early z and im looking through the victoria british im looking at the interior pieces. i have a early 260 and it favors the 240 more with the pieces i pulled out. so my question is can i use the 240 Vinyl with the diamonds. i know the doors have different handles. my main concern is the rear quater panels. they only have them for the 240. the 260 and 280 parts list does not have it. but i pulled the panels out my 260 but they where kinda cracked.
