  1. I also sent the seller a question asking for the VIN and this is his response: sorry, about being vague, but I do not want to give out the exact vin, I have had a bad experience with another vehicle a few years back doing that, but to narrow it down, the vin is between 320 and 350. The car is titled in my name, it is not stolen, there are no liens on it, everything is free and clear hope that helps My concern with this is that the vehicle could have been written off, flood damaged, big accident, etc and theres no way for me to do any checks. Even if its 'free and clear' that doesnt satisfy me totally.

Very interesting, Ron. I went out and studied my bare shell with this chart in mind, and I can see where the big pieces were joined. I had a look at my firewall VIN and can't see any marks that would be associated to a 'force' being applied. No bends, nothing pushed in.

I would have to say a low-vin, strictly stock, unrestored Z that looks showroom new or at least very clean. While I'm at it I'll take a Unicorn, Playboy Centerfold twins and directions to Atlantis.
  5. Hey, Sorry to hear about your car troubles. I can tell you that if you're continuing East that you SHOULD get it looked at before you continue because theres not much from there to Sault Ste Marie, about 9-10 hours away. If you get stuck you're on your own or will have to get towed to the nearest little town that likely won't have a garage/mechanic. If you do get stuck and have a cellphone *OPP is the police number. Good luck on your drive!
  6. I ordered the Hyperflex bushing set and you have to get the sway bar bushings separate because it says they come in different sizes. I have an 18mm on my '72. I just searched on Ebay and found 16,17,18,19,20mm. Z

Apparently they were 'street racing' and the both passengers in fact were in the front seat. The driver was wearing his seat belt but the impact injuries were too substantial. Both passengers were ejected from the vehicle. It was a 2 seater t-top.

Frankie, Im in the same boat as you and I called ClassicTube in NY and they also have the 2 fuel lines. I think he said he'd give me them for $100 each if i bought everything. Im going to try and bend them myself first. I bought a 'kit' on ebay that has all the lines with flares and nuts. You just have to bend them and connect 2 to make the big line to the rear. It was only about $30.00 so If I screw that up I'll buy the classictubes lines and make a trip to Buffalo. Z

Nice to hear. It must be a great feeling to finally get it on the road after all that work.

Anyone know the size or part number for the wheel studs? Im taking the rotors in to get the hub removed and I want to swap out the old, stretched, mangled wheel studs. Thanks!
  12. I've seen that car for sale a few years ago. With an interior like that, you can't help but remember it. In fact... my friend who I helped buy his first Z told me that the interior also came in a checkered pattern. I tried to educate him on the interior colors, etc and finally we googled and this car came up and he says "see I told you". I just shook my head quietly.

Hey, check recent threads for the part numbers for the 240z door panels. I was sure there was only the 240z panels and NOT the 260/280z panels. I bought the 240z ones and they are really nice.
  14. GWGarrard, I knew about Quebec, we used to go over the bridge on Sundays to get beer before the Ottawa stores were open on Sundays. And when I was 18 we would head over there to drink on weekends. And I knew some local 'corner stores' were designated as LCBO/BEER outlets in lieu of an actual government store in rural areas, is this what your Pronto is??

Hey, did you check out www.ontariozcar.com ? Most of those guys are to the east of Toronto I think.

Hey all, On the front control arm bushing set from Hyperflex, theres a short side and a long side as you can see in the pic. What I dont know (my old ones were burned out and I don't recall) is does the big side go to the front or to the rear?? Thanks if anyone knows.!
  18. Ya, I couldnt believe it when I went to Florida. We had a bunch of guys, a night out after work, and we all went to a strip club. What a disappointment.
  19. Arne, Go ahead and brew all you want at home. They even have alot of stores that you can go brew it (wines and beers) yourself on their equipment, thats not a problem. You just can't buy it in grocery/convenience stores. Nobody here seems to complain though...we know the government wants their tax money, and they regulate our vices it seems. You just have to buy it while the store is still open, and the stores are everywhere so it's not like we ever go without.
  20. Theres something I miss about the U.S.. You can just walk into a grocery store and buy beer and liquor. I don't recall if theres any 'between the hours of..' limit on it or not. Here in Canada you can only buy beer at "The Beer Store" (seriously)..which is a regulated store in which they only sell beer or the "L.C.B.O" store which sells spirits, wine, and beer (but not in cases, mostly imported and micro-brews).
  21. Ok, heres one.. Theres a local beer brewed in St. Lucia called 'Piton' (named after a mountain). Of course I can't find it anywhere here... but it was really good. I drank alot of it because it was hot there and the beer was free at the resort. It could also be that I recall it being better than it was for that very same reason.
  22. Wow... very nice. They even come in the original bags. I'll definitely watch to see what these go for (glad I own a '72!!).
  23. Ya, all in good fun. We would debate all the time over our respective beers. I actually like to get back to the States and order a real Miller or Bud.
  24. Anything Canadian. This week I was partial to Creemore. I went to university in the U.S., and on weekends I would bring back a few cases of Canadian beer because (no offense here) U.S. beer is kinda watery and light. It's like training-beer. It would be beer that Canadian children would drink in order to prepare them for real drinking when they turn legal age. (just kidding!)
  25. Any time Ron. Just fire me an email!
