If you like blue, check out this Z by fellow member KATS. Its a Nissan Bayside Blue (skyline) and its the blue I'd pick if I was going non-stock. As it stands, Im going the original orange or the 110 red. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11452&cat=500&ppuser=3193 Another great blue on a Z is this blue thats on DatsunZsRule's car. I love this blue also, it looks great on his Z. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/private.php?do=showpm&pmid=49203 Zak

Those look my mine before I got a set from Osborne put in. I also needed rockers, and the inner rockers were rotted also and had to be made. Find a good welder if youre not doing it. My guy ended up putting one rocker a touch high. I would also suggest asking someone what order it should be done in, and how to do it so the frame stays straight and all that. I just had my old seat braces put in the new floors. I brought the guy a seat bottom so he could line it all up, and I also had the frame/body measurements photocopied for him in case he needed it. Those were in the FSM i think. Zak.

Glad youre still around to talk about the accident. Just looking at these pics I dont wanna even get into a fender-bender with the Z. Now that I've stripped my Z down and seen her naked, I know shes pretty frail in the 'safety' area. I'll still drive her though... I LOVE the Z in your avatar..please dont get into an accident with that one! Zak
  5. I'm in for one also. Nice work, it looks good. Zak
  6. Just think how you'd feel if you DID'NT buy that dash! If you let it go...you'd probably kick yourself down the road. As long as you needed it and had the CFO 's blessing to spend the $, then i'd say its a great find. Zak

That IS a great arse. The rest of it looks pretty tight too. Nice work, keep posting when you have new updates. Zak
  8. Your washer fluid plastic tank cracked on you, that sucks. I took the one out from my '72 in the summer, and i dropped it from about a foot off the ground and it shattered like glass. Maybe I'll put the winter washer fluid in all the time, that way if it gets cold you'd figure it will help a bit as it won't freeze on you. What I just said makes absolutely no sense after reading it. zak
  9. I always liked the look of this. Picture it with blue and silver. I am sticking with a stock color but if I wasnt I may consider something like this. Zak

Hey guys. I'm currently scanning my 1972 FSM for a club cd but the front cover is torn in half. If anyone has a 1972 240z FSM (the gold cover) can you please scan the front cover for me. I'd prefer a color .pdf, but even a jpg will do. Thanks, Zak

OK, I have a confession...when I was 18 I almost bought a 280zx turbo from my boss at the time. I was actually just going to see him about it, and I passed him on the road. We pulled over, and I hit the gravel and couldn't stop in time. BANG right into the back of him (my only accident ever). Not too much damage, but the deal was off and I paid for the new bumper and some paint. I know 280zx's get flamed here, but at the time that car was very unique and cool. 2 tone blue/silver. I just got my 72 240z almost 3 years ago at age 32. Zak
  15. I just took these pics in my basement so the lighting isn't the best. Its kinda rough too, but maybe you can use it. Let me know how you stamp or engrave it because I need to make my new plates also. Zak
  16. I have the 1972 gold cover fsm. If its different the gold cover fsm you have, I'll pdf it with chapters and get it to you for the club cd. PM me if you want to arrange it. Zak
  17. Ya, but he gets extra marks for drawing the cross section, and coloring in the lines too. A for effort, he deserves a happy face sticker Zak
  18. Hey good diagram, that makes sense to me now too. Z
  19. If you're talking about #7 rubber corners, they are listed for 280z 2+2's only. What part exactly are you having trouble with?
  20. I have been searching the forums, I recall a discussion some time ago about making a copy of the FSM, and recall someone saying it was OK to do so. I cant find that thread now. I have a '72 FSM that I made a photocopy of so the bodyshop I was dealing with would have a copy. In doing that, pages came out, and the front cover got ripped. Now that my FSM is not a showpiece any more I was thinking of sacrificing it to make a really good PDF. If anyone knows of a reason why I shouldnt do this such as copyright issues or something, please let me know. But if its cool I'll dig out my manual and start scanning it when I get a break here and there and although it would be too big to post here, I'm sure I could mail out a cd or even make it a web site. Any thoughts? Zak
  21. OBEWAN, good idea...I'll keep that in mind when I fix my old markers. Thanks. Zak

If you get those done up and are offering for sale count me in for a whole set. My lines were rusted out, so I ordered brake lines from Ebay. I was only able to savage a few insulators and had to break a few brackets just to get them off. All the parts cars I've seen up here, the insulators and brackets have either been gone or rusted beyond salvage. Zak

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this...but seriously, when I was a kid "CANNONBALL RUN" was the coolest car movie for a long time. It had a Lamborghini Countach in it and hot chicks driving fast. zak
  24. **STAY AWAY** from a car with a rotted underside. I bought one that was 'a bit' rusted out. I had to replace rails, floors, rockers. And it cost me more than buying a better one would have, and the repairs are never quite right after. Just my opinion, but I wouldnt do it this way again. Id save for a bit more and buy a clean shell. Zak
