Got a bet here
Good point here. What is it you really win? You have to work off 30lbs AND give your Z to your wife??

You said you had a triple-bypass a while ago, so I would certainly see your doctor to get advice before getting a personal trainer and hitting the gym hard. Don't risk your health just to get healthy and good luck!

Never bought from him, but his feedback is 251 100% positive, so thats encouraging at least. I agree 5 days is plenty of time to get in contact with you, but I'm sure there will be contact soon with some 'i was out of town' story. Hope you get them soon. They look pretty much like the ones I have...

How to check a brake booster.
Hey guys, most of the snow is gone and it's time for me to get back to work putting the Z together. I have searched the forums and still can't find out exactly how to check a brake booster thats already off the car. I have the one from my car, and also have another one that I got awhile ago in a parts lot. I'd like to check them both to see which one I should use. I read this from a thread on the reaction disk: Remove the master cylinder and alloy plate from the booster. You will see the rod, seal retaining clip and seal. Remove the retainer carefully leaving the seal in place for now. Once you have the retainer out carefully pull the rod out untill it hits the back of the seal and use the rod to remove the seal at the same time as you remove the rod. There shouldn't be too much force required to do this. If the disc is not stuck to the back of the rod , or you can't see it in the recess in the diaphragm, then you have found your problem. If the disc is there then you have discounted that as the problem and we're back to square one. Anyone know step by step what I should be checking to see if they work properly? Thanks,

framerail is gone
I would walk away. Even what you described sounds like a huge project, and you should expect it to be worse. I had only a little bit of visible frame rail rot and it turned out i had to replace floors, rockers, and rails. It took a long time and the work had to be corrected once because the floorpans didnt line up properly. For the money and time it cost to fix a cheap car I could have gotten a much better car for the price of the rails/floors/rockers alone. Seriously inspect this car over if you're entertaining the idea of buying it. Take a little pick or screwdriver and poke at everything. I'm certain you'll find more rot waiting for you thats hidden by paint, undercoating, or grease. Good luck,

I saw those guys in Toronto when they were here promoting the movie. All were in character, all the time. Bubbles isn't such a window-licker in real life. He's got an English degree and he's a music composer in the film indusry. He was being a sound engineer on movies or something when he met the guy who made the pilot for the show.

Mike - Thanks. Mally - I hear GIMP is a good free photo editing program. Its fairly easy to learn (I hear). Arne - Thanks for the font info. That will do. As long as it looks old time... filers can handle the patina.

Im sure theres gotta be a font out there for 'old typewriter'. Im going to look this weekend, and if I find any I'll zip it up and post it. It should be an easy photoshop if the font is out there. 26TH - Thanks! MIKEB - Thanks! (I wonder if I can photoshop the rough parts out....) Does anyone happen to have some Ontario Canada Datsun dealership info from way back?? I know my Honda dealership "SISLEY HONDA" used to be a Datsun dealership, but dont know what it was called back then.

Arne, I hope you don't mind if I use yours and photoshop my own info into it... that would look great printed out in color for my Z. Do you know what size it was originally?

- Help: Should I buy this 1971 240z?
I agree with most of the points here. I think you would thank yourself down the road if you waited for a car that you are certain is rust free, and of course not full of fiberglass and other potential surprises. You will find that to take all that crap off to get it back to original is a hefty task, and might suck the fun-factor right out of you. I live in the snow belt also and there is definitely going to be rust under there. If you decide you gotta have this car please get it up in the air before you hand over $$. Have someone take a real good look. Again... just an opinion trying to help.- new here.
Why is it you don't want to buy a car with all the parts in it already? Alot of the parts for this car are simply not available new. The parts that are available new cost alot of money. Depending on your reasons for buying a shell only, I think there would always be a good argument to buy a complete car.- 240z Door Hardware
Dove tails seem to be available: http://cgi.ebay.com/Datsun-Door-Dove-Tail-Set-240Z-280Z-70-76-NOS-NEW_W0QQitemZ250359680149QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item250359680149&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A3%7C294%3A50 But I would really check with Nissan first because if you can get them there, you'll save some cash. If you have the part numbers for the other things check with nissan also. I dont have my parts fiche on this pc, or I'd check the numbers for you.- Blog begins
Looks like you're well on your way, and the blog looks good.- 240z Door Hardware
