Ok, now I see what you meant.

New 240Z Door Panels 70-73
I dont know what you mean.. I just thought it was the holes for the armrest, window roller-upper and the door pull on the JDM cars. But from what others have said this is a repro part that covers both doors on both US and JDM markets. This does look slightly different from the other set I have, but I havn't had them side by each to compare fully.

Big Dog and Zedd Findings the only ones?
The parts that come with the floor set are the supports under the floors I believe. I also ordered frame rails from Charlie and they are the front rails all the way to the rad.

Mitchell... Thats not rust or water damage... its an adhesive residue. No rust. moonpup... that seller is about 2 hours away from toronto. There must be a Nissan dealership in Peterborough. No reserve either.

New 240Z Door Panels 70-73
Hey, I thought you got a set... its too bad you paid for it and were told its on backorder. I dunno... I would probly get my money back til they are for sure in stock. May is a long way away to have paid up front for something. I thought I'd have at least a few days to buy another set if someone wanted them.

New 240Z Door Panels 70-73
I picked up the door panels today. I got 2 sets, one for me and one for another guy here. There were 3 sets there and the guy said one was going to another dealer in Toronto today. As mentioned, there are holes in the back on both sides for the pull handle. I asked the guy to check stock, and he said there were 6 left in Vancouver, none this side of the mountains. The guy I got this time was very interested in it and had some different numbers to call guys directly to check for parts or something. I took a pic

New 240Z Door Panels 70-73
I asked the guy at the parts department and he said it doesnt say anything else about it other than the part number and a name. He wasnt even sure what sides were what. I think you need to find the part # first then call about it. Is it listed in the parts fiche, or a catalog somewhere?

Any Rock Band or Guitar Hero players here?
I have Guitar Hero 3/Aerosmith/World Tour for the Wii. It's really fun and we even pull it out sometimes when people are over. I played it quite a bit when I first got it a year ago, but hardly anymore. It was a good way for the family to do something all together in the middle of the winter.

Original Colour of Ignition Cylinder Surround Ring?
I just happen to keep a pic of that handy for just such a question. Mine on my '72 was black, but when I took apart the ignition to get it rekeyed I scuffed it even more, then I refinished it in matte black. Heres what it looked like when I took it off.

Parts Store Fun
Ya man... that PayPal has really been the downfall of our youth today. Damn them and their easy ways to pay for things.

New 240Z Door Panels 70-73
Ron... I'd be happy if the ones I ordered look like that. The glue you're talking about looks like surface rust on the metal in the pics. If they are being restocked in new Nissan packaging, then why arent they available in the US? .... or has anyone tried to order them down there?

You will never guess what I found . . . .
I hear that MSA uses this guys floors and supports: http://www.datsunzparts.com/ He's in Canada and ships to the US. I used them on mine when I discovered my patch job. Mine was a little more obvious than yours, but the floors and rails I got worked out well. Good luck, I'd love to see pics.

New 240Z Door Panels 70-73
Ya sure Ron thanks. Did you just get them? I wonder if they are from a new supplier, slightly different, or just old stock. Why is it that they werent available for so long then all of a sudden theyre available in Canada? Did anyone from the US check down there? Z

I got a call into Maple Nissan right now. He sort of chuckled and said he'd have to give Nissan HQ a call and get back to me if they're available.

The Work Begins???
Hey Todd. That does look like some pretty serious rust. I have replaced my floors, frame rails, and rockers on my '72 and the cost and time involved has been far greater than getting a better car would have been (no welding experience). Other than the pics you posted, how is the rust in other areas like the rear hatch, wheel wells, under the battery tray, doglegs, inner/outer rockers, firewall, drain tube area (rear of fenders), etc. Does the rust stop at the floor pans or does it creep up into the trans tunnel and rockers? Post some pics if you have them. I really hope this is something you can tackle yourself to save a few bucks and get good results. But some other people on this site with more experience than I might have some good advice on how to proceed and they may be able to diagnose if the rust is any worse than it seems. More pics!
