Aluminum Threshold Plate Restore
I used "chrome" powder coating after a thorough cleaning on a set a few days ago and they turned out really good. They had that sort of satin finish like EScanlon was describing.

Early Series Shift Boots
For those of you who may not have been here a few years ago, I made a pretty close reproduction of the early 70-71 series gearshift boot that several people needed. I currently have a couple of orders for them so If anyone else needs one send me a PM as soon as you can. Thanks Bryan

75 280 Owners - Electrical connectors
Thats what I thought on the water temp switch wire. The "fuel injection" bible shows the 2 wires coming out of the FI harness but they go nowhere. Maybe they are for an accessory of some sort. The black one under the dash on the passenger side is still a mystery. Theres nothing to plug it to and its the female end of a blade connector. By the way mjr45, at what point do you hear your fuel pump come on? When you turn on the switch?

75 280 Owners - Electrical connectors
I have 2 white wires with bullet connectors coming out the top of the fuel injection harness under the kick panel just inside the door jamb) that I can't identify and don't seem to have anything to plug them into. I also have a stray black wire coming in from the engine compartment (in with the main harness) on the passenger side with no apparent connection. Also...... I have a wire coming off the water temp switch (I think) that has a round eyelet to go under a bolt that I cant' figure out where it goes. I have searched the FSM and the fuel injection supplement and have yet to find the answers. Thanks for any help. I'm in the final stages of reassembly on this car after 5 years and I obviously didn't take enough pics.

"Space Saver" spare for the S30 spare compartment
This may have been answered somewhere along the way but I haven't found it yet. Has anyone tried one of the "space saver"/'donut spares" from a late model vehicle in the spare tire well in a 70-78 Z? More specifically a 75? Just wondering if one would fit. I have converted to 5 lug so it has to be one with a 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern. Bryan

Music to my ears
Hey Arne, Do you think I would get close to this sound from a 75 280 with a header, 2 1/2" pipe, a 22" cherrybomb in the middle and the same magnaflow muffler? Thanks for your opinion. Bryan

Dash Cap ’78 280Z - Poor Fit
I have the exact same problem with my 75 full cap. I've had it about 6 mos. (just installed yesterday) and when I ordered it they said it had to be "made up" as they didn't have one in stock. I'll have to look at the part number. It appears to me that the mold they are made from is simply off. The stems for the knobs are sitting against the bottom of the openings. I'm not sure how I'm gonna proceed. Probably some careful trimming. Bryan

Motor antenna repair
Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone have either of the two small black plastic trim pieces that go at the base of an electric antenna from a 75? One of them goes in from the inside and the other little "dome" sits on top of the base from the outside. I have the pieces but they look terrible. Actually my inside one is broken. Bryan

Shifter boot alternatives? Anyone?
Thanks Arne & Ron for the compliments! I really appreciate it. Someone has ask me for an "installed" photo but I don't have one. If I recall correctly someone actually posted one back in the original thread. Anyone remember who. Thanks Again. Bryan

Shifter boot alternatives? Anyone?
Hello Steve, The MSA boots are $72.95 + shipping (I assume). The boots I made for members here are $53 shipped. That includes the shift rod grommet in the top. Let me know if I can help. Bryan

ZCON 2010 July 28th-Aug 1st Nashville,TN
Sure would be good to have a convenient way to identify some of the members on this board at the car show on Saturday. Will registrants be wearing nametags, cars have ID cards etc.? Can't wait! Suppose to be sunny and 95.

Interior scuff plate restore
You may want to consider redoing them and using contact cement as the 77 will probably not hold for long when it heats up. 3M General Trim Adhesive will last better than the 77.

280Z Steering wheel restoration
I plan to be offering this service in the very near future. Both for 280's and also for those who may be interested in getting a 240 wheel done in leather, with or without padding. Bryan

Heater Hose Needed
Any chance anyone might have an NOS or suitable replacement for this hose. It comes off the heater core and heads out to the engine compartment. It actually bends in 2 different directions. For a 75 280Z. Not available from Nissan. Bryan

A/C or no A/C... That is the question?
I wonder if individual components of a system can be tested before being reinstalled on the car? In this case, a 75 280.
