Leather Covered Steering Wheel
Thanks Fellas, Enigma, I would prefer you send me your wheel to cover. Minor variations in a wheel can alter the appearance of a cover just made from a pattern. You may want to wait til I get the one done in the leather that will look a lot like the original wood grain color. I believe it will be sharp and still retain the factory original appearance. I will probably put some padding in it as well. Saltycrackers, yes, I cut my own cover for each individual wheel. What do you guys think about this style of stitching, OR do you like the baseball style better? Thanks again for your comments

Leather Covered Steering Wheel
Thanks Arne, Actually I believe the z wheels could stand a little extra padding under the covers which I may incorporate into the next one. This one definitely has a nice feel to it without any padding. Thanks again!

Leather Covered Steering Wheel
Here are some pics of the black leather cover I've been working on. I will have another one shortly in a color that is very close to the wood grain color on the originals. (

Restoring 240Z Steering Wheels
You guys think there would be any interest in leather wrapped steering wheels? (240's, 260's & 280's if the price was reasonable and excellent quality)

Dash Cover Help
Do you know if there was a cut-off by year or month? So you think all 280's from 75 forward are the same, right?

Dash Cover Help
Hey Will, Or anyone, Do you guys know how many different style dash pads there were from 70-78 and which years are the same? I believe 70-73 is the same but I'm not sure from there.

Parting '73, what do you guys need?
Hey, I know the dash pad is toast, although I'm looking for one to use as a guniea pig. What would you charge to send me just the pad or the whole dash? Where are you located? I'm in Bristol, VA. Thanks

Source for Fender covers
I am starting to work on some "semi custom" fender covers that maybe can be evaluated for the site. Any design/feature suggestions that anyone has would be greatly appreciated! Let's have some feedback!!!! Thanks

Source for Fender covers
What kind of material are you looking for. I do some upholstery work and can maybe help you out. I'm currently working on a 75 restoration/resto mod. Maybe you could shoot me a couple of photos of the one needing to be covered and the other one that you are matching to. Maybe should just recover them both?

Hey Tomohawk, Do you think there would be interest in custom made fender covers? Also, what exactly are you looking for on the sun visor?

Opinion Time: 240 to 280 bumper swap
Hey Matt, I have done this conversion to my 75 280. The car is still on a rotissiere but the work has been done. I am using an air dam on the front so the lower valence panels aren't being used anyway. I see no reason that I won't be using the 280 grill. The installation is simply a matter of fabricating brackets to attach to the brackets on the bumpers and then match up the other end with the holes where the 280 bumper shocks mounted. I made mine from 1/8" steel. The rear is exactly the same prodecure as the front. Brackets have to be made, however there are a few other considerations. #1 - The quarter panels do not have the small groove cut out for the bumper ends/corners like the 240 quarter. The bumper still fits fine. The other thing is the holes for the shocks and a few other bolt holes in the rear valance area. The holes do not effect installation, its just an appearance issue. Lastly, the brackets are a little more tricky to make because you have to get uniform clearance between the inside of the bumper and the body all the way around the inside of the bumper. I have gone through all this and both are mounted and look good. The car is almost ready for paint. Good Luck! Bryan
