what a dummy I am!!! That extra piece of rubber goes against the frame of the car, I'm assuming it was supposed to be some type of rain channel. The screws that hold the window to the frame,have a point, go into it. I need a major red dummy face.

Thanks for the reply but I have those. AS the other poster noted it is the finisher piece. What have others done for this??

I 'm replacing the rear quarter window seals and have a question. The original seals have a lip that goes completely around the interior of the window. I believe this is to cover the trim piece edges or plastic window trim. The pieces that I got from Precision don't have this lip and after getting the part number from carparts, getting the pieces from Nissan, there is no lip. What and where do I get this or what is used instead?? You can see the lip in the pics. On the right side on pic to the right.

I did blue's suggestion and it came out ok. Then again I'm not making a show car.

The 1978 280z windows are attached to the window regulator by 4 machine screws. Does anyone know the thread pitch and length of the screws? Thanks in advance

as far as I can tell once the auction is complete there is no way to find out if or what it sold for. I do a lot of searching there and your car came up on the day of sale, normally their listed for a few days.

AS I put my 280 back together I find I'm missing the clutch pedal return spring. Although I can find pics of it can anyone tell me the length of the spring and how strong does it have to be? I have the brake pedal return spring but their not the same. I'm sure I'll be missing more as I go along but this is the next step. Thanks in advance.

I have a 1978 280z that I'm slowly putting back together. After I install the heat and sound prooofing I'm going to need the firewall insulation. Will the pieces that MSA, Black Dragon sell for the 240z work in the 280Z???

I can understand this thinking but an uncracked dash, complete with harness and instruments is worth 675 to 900. Re upholstered seats go for 200 . The rest of the car is in like new condition, although all stock. My guess is that it could be pieced out, over time, for 2700 to 3000. But as cozye said there would be alot of work to get this.

There are no 200 parts cars here. Maybe back east where you have rusted out junk but here in Arizona no. I don't know if the damaged car can be repaired but all the parts would look great on another car. The owner assures me that it runs and drives. It was a real clean running car before it was hit. I'm gonna see if he will charge the battery and get it running.
