What do you think of this Z?
Thanks for the information. I am going to wait and try and find one through the classifieds on this site or zcar.com. I don't want the pressure of an auction to cloud my judgement. The car looks good, but without seeing it first??? Your points are valid. Early Z's are getting harder to find. As anyone who has worked on cars before knows, you rarely if ever get your money out of a restoration, especially if you factor in your time. That's why this car "looks" like a steal. I am looking in the $8000-10 000 USD range, so I hope a decent car will come up. Z's in Canada are so rare and hard to find that the "market" value of any given car does not really apply. What I mean is that if any of these cars were listed up north, they would get top dollar. There are just none around.

What do you think of this Z?
Here is one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4558588489&category=6187 Opinions? It has a dash cap, the battery tray has been replaced and second paint job. No cuts in doors or panels, etc. Value? Good deal? Any and all opinions taken into consideration. Still looking for that Z to bring back to Canada! Thanks!

'73 240? Talk me into or out of it...
Hi, I have come to the realization that I will not rest until I have an early Z. I live in Canada where they are scarce. The winters and rust ate them up. I am considering a '73 out of the Northwest USA. It has the original '73 carbs. Is this a big enough issue to not buy it and keep looking for a '70-'72 Z? The '73 is orange (sweet!) and the interior is A-1. No cracks in dash, etc. One rust spot on the rocker from what I am told. I am not looking for a fully restored car, just a nice clean driver. There is also a nice '76 Z on eBay right now. Any +/- about buying a 280 over a 240? I have also found a really nice '72 in San Diego. Original Cali car with no rust (is there actually a Z with out any!) Can anyone help me out and look at it for me? I would compensate with $. Good karma will also come your way! :classic:

Am I being reasonable? Looking for 240Z
Hi, I have been lurking on this board for a while. From what I have read it seems to be a great bunch of enthusiasts! I currently have a S2000 and want to get an early Z. My dad had one when I was young and I love the classic looks and performance of these cars. I live in Canada where winter and rust got most of the Zed's up North. Finding one in good condition is difficult if not impossible. My question is; am I being realistic in looking for an early Z for between $4000 and $8000 USD? I would like an original car with no mods. What I ultimately want is a nice summer driver with good paint, no rust, original interior and some 15" Rewinds. I have some mechanical experience and would like a project, just not a huge one, that's all. I almost bought one in Vancouver for $7000 USD. Silver, second owner, completely original except for slotted mags. Frame rail rust scared me away. Any comments would be appreciated. I am looking on ebay, hemmings, and classic auto trader daily. Can anyone help me in Cali or the West coast if I find one to look at it for me? I would be willing to compensate $ for their time. Thanks and Peace!
