  1. Hey everyone. Michael & I really want to thank you for taking the time to give a response. I'm sure all of it will come in very handy. 2. Hello All. I have reciently purchased a beautiful '73 240 Z that is mostly body, engine, wheels & tires. I would like to know what other years & models of Z's are compatible to use for parts. Such as tail lights, door handles, A - Z etc. This is my 3rd Z car. Right now my fiance' & I own- '73- 240, '74- 260, & '75- 280Z's. L 24 motor- This Z car has rebuilt dual-flat topped SU carbs, I have been told that the flat top SU's on the 260's are not very good. I have also heard that the 240 had flat tops for 1 year & would like to know if they are the same or better than the 260's. Does the '73 240 have the electronic transister ignition or is it the basic power to the starter to the ignition switch to the coil and go? Any advise or tips would be helpful. You can e-mail me at:staceyelcj@netzero.net Thanx. Stacey Pike & Michael Cornish El Cajon, Calif. 73 240 Z Sports Coupe 74 260 Z Coupe 75 280 Z Coupe "Drive Fast- Take Chances"

Hey Everyone! I haven't been here in a while but I need some suggestions. I have a 1975 280 Z that something keeps draining the battery. We have tested the battery- not it, we purchased a new voltage regulator- not it, we have not a clue as to what is pulling the power from the battery. Have checked wire from ignition switch to the transistor unit with the ignition off and to the coil and there is no electrical drain there. Have checked the light switch in the same way and there is no drain there. We have charged the battery up full and have left it un hooked and then checked it 12 hrs later and it still had a full charge. Then hooked up the battery& bout 2 hrs. later- put the charger back on& it is taking 10 amps showing that the battery was discharged just sittibng. If anyone has any suggestions as to what the problem might be please respond. Thanx, Stacey & Michael '74 260 Z Coupe '75 280 Z Coupe El Cajon, CA. "Drive Fast- Take Chances"

Hey guys thanx for getting back to me so fast. No we haven't pulled the head. Oil & water appear to be clean. This was a used engine that we had no info on when we had to put it into the car. When idleing we put a dollar bill over the tail pipe- it sucks back in at regular intervals & the bill gets wet. If the head is cracked what is the success of having it repaired? Hello this is Stacey. Almost 3 months ago we replaced the engine in my 280 and the car ran great. Recently the car has been running rough. The compression check ran a little over 160 in all cylinders and the plugs appear to be burning about the same. Now the compression is 120 in No. 1 cylinder and I need to find out why. Any advise would help. Thanks, Stacey Stacey Pike El Cajon, CA. '74 260 Z Coupe- 280 Block, 260 Heads, 240 Dual SU Carbs '75 280 Z Coupe- L28 Engine Drive Fast- Take Chances!

  14. Just one more question- for that price will it cover all 4 or just the rear? My Z was born Sept. '74. Do you have to drop the transverse? Stacey Pike 74 260Z 75 280Z El Cajon, CA USA Drive Fast- Take Chances!
  15. Thanx for the reply and the info. Thought it would be easier to purchase the struts and then find some hole in the wall shop to do the labor. Thanx.
  16. This is Stacey. I live in El Cajon, CA. I need to find out if anyone knows of a good and not really costly place to have my struts done. Around $350.00- $400.00 would be ok. If you could let me know it would be great. Thanx.

This is Stacey in San Diego, CA. Can someone give me the answer to this: On the early Z motors L26 & L28 At what rpm's is the distributor in full advance? 21. Was told of a friend of a friend that put a Skyline in his early 280 Z. He bought the engine in Japan from the Nissan dealers along with the 6 speed transmission & had it shipped directly to San Diego, CA. The engine mounts matched perfectly and he had to move the transmission mount. All mechanical was done by him but electrical was done by another guy for approx. $2,000.00. Was told the overall cost was about $4,000.00. Has anyone heard of or has known of anyone dropping a Skyline into a Z car and what was their results? Claims to have 750 hp. and will do 180- 185 mph. Would like to know any info. Thanx, Stacey cornish_stacey@yahoo.com

I own a '74 260 Z- the service manual states that 1 is black (1.25 mm(0.049) & 1 is green(0.5(0.020). The fusible link wire at the auto parts store is labled by gauge & amp. How do I match? And what circuit does the black protect and what does the green protect? Stacey
