August 240Kproject update - warning lots of pics
Yeah Mate, Still in Sydney, I move house in the last 6 months and I'm still recovering. I cannot find a thing. I'll have to drop over some time and drool all over your good work. Hell $12-22K, did you mention you did not want it gold plated. You could probably read up on the Pb filling. I have seen it done and it does not look that hard. You could probably talk to a lead light or window guy about some tricks. Basically you need a big wide torch head that just heats up the whole area, then you rub a stick or Pb in. Use a spatular to push it around to shape. Then let it cool and file or rasp away the excess to the shape you want. Those window frames would be a good area to start. PS - Don't loose that oil cooler, I'll get it one day;-)

August 240Kproject update - warning lots of pics
Lovely Job Kent, I love a freshly stripped car. It's the best thing to uncover and cut out those little rust spots. If they have not already, you better cover it up quickly. I have found the best thing is what the navy use to stop rust. JAL Chemicals in Sydney make a product called RUST OFF. It's a Phosphoric & Sulfuric Acid mix that you dillute down to 20 to 1 with water. Spray it straight on and let it dry. I have left bare steel parts in a garage for over ten years without any surface rust creeping in. It's good stuff. Anyway, are you going to lead fill or bog again. If you don't mind the weight, one is permanent done properly. But you need someone that knows how to do it without cooking the steel around the area. Those window frames would be perfect canditates. The rear quarter would probably be best beaten & shrunk.

parking light fuse keeps blowing
I would be looking at all the screws holding in all the lights. Just in case you have screwed through a wire or pinched a wire when putting a panel back on. Check the rear beaver panel and front bumper and it's irons. You may have caught a wire in the reassembly. Pulling out all the globes, you should be able to measure an open circuit across the fuse socket when there is no fuse in there. If it measures a short (or something close to it) then the short still remains. Keep looking for a caught wire until the short is removed.

Another K on Ebay
It's a pitty that the compliance plates are missing. But the auction must go on - For the 2nd time. Still, perhaps a complete engine a drive line transplant would make it something unique. . I will be watching. ;-)

Guess Who Got A Coupe??
No Way, Blue on Blue is sweet. Lay some white inlays inside and some white pin stripes on the wheels and you are there. (Hot Wheels style) I have never seen 200B tail lights on a K before. That's a new one and well time they should go. Otherwise - Great Pick up.

Operation 240k
Woooo - That's a little special and tricky. I thought you had just air brushed the back doors out, but it looks like you shortened the rear windows as well. Possibly chopping a couple of inches out where the doors used to meet in the middle? Maybe? Nice Job. I think a stretched version should be next, possible with an inche or two off the roof height.

my dream 240k....
WoW $50K, no wonder they are disappearing from the Oz landscape. Still, a credit to the refurbishment. It looks like a lot of time was well spent on it. Nice Find.

Any Ideas?
Quick Fix. Weld a washer into the pipe where one of the joints are. Ore place a restricter plate between exaust flanges. Try not to put these too close to the engine. But it works.

Another K on Ebay
The gear stick and console are consistant with the later model. Bugger, if there was no rust, it would have been a good addition to the fold.

Strange, The car and the listing got pulled of ebay at $325. Well someone must have offered him something "good" right.

1978 240k factory turbo
Do you have a picture Jimmy? I don't know of any Turbo 6's from the 70's. Is it fuel injected or carby'd. Any Model numbers on the compliance plate? What's the engine number start with? L24, L26 or L28?

Can you remember the name of the ebay dealer for the seats in Sydney? They look like a bargain. Do they fold forward to let people in the back?

Coupe for sale to good home
I might be keen and I'm in Sydney too. I have another in a similar condition and could possible make one good one out of them both. Him, What are the GTR parts? Do you have the motor? What gear box is that as it does not look standard. Cheers, Bruce.

Very Nice Find. It looks like a 77 or maybe a 76. Is it a Manual? I like it much, very much.
