240K coupe on ebay
Guys I went over to see the car and met Alex. I spent an hour or so there and went over the car with a fine comb. Alex is quite a nice feller and the car is even better. He actually bought the car for $3000, but has spent money moving it and cleaning it up. There are now standard height King springs in it with new shockers all round. The tyres are roadworthy, but retreads. It now owes him around the $4000 mark. And he will not be selling it for any less, regardless of want the bid finishes at. ( You work that out! ) But the car itself is a pearl, I would go as far as to say that it's as good as my yellow coupe, if not possibly better, with the exception of the intior. Refer to the pics:

Datsun 240k Gl 1977 Needing Advice Or Feedback?
Clean it up, register it first, then go to town and enjoy ! There is so much you can do and most will not cost the earth. Have a look around the forums to see want people are doing to the motor and body. Have a look at Kent's Project site if your thinking about engine transplants.

240K coupe on ebay
Jim & Kent, The seller (Alex) has just contacted me back and we can go and see the car tomorrow morning around 9:00am. I have a contact number and the Address. The story is that he bought the car a month ago from the original owner for $4500. That is his reserve. He says he has a freind that has offered to ship it to Japan for him and give him $10000 for it there. What did I say about profiteers in my earlier post ! Anyway, it's too rich for my wallet, but I thought it mightbe a good idea to look over the car for over club members that still may be interrested. Give me a call today if you can make it tomorrow morning.

240K coupe on ebay
Hum, I had a couple of days email dialogue with the seller. The car is located 30 minutes from me, but he still will not give me the address to com and see it. Maybe it had something to do with me asking him: (1) What the reserve is? (2) GL or GT - It's a GL (3) Pictures of the Leather please . . . (4) Did he buy it from the original Queensland Seller, or is he selling it for them. Once I asked the last question, I have had no response since. Kent, are you interrested to have a look at it Saturday? If so, I would not mind coming along. Maybe the two of us there could help removing this ill feeling my "spider senses" get from this guy.

Looking for a 240K
Hi Brian, All the Australian and I'm guessing all of the Japanesse located 240Ks are Righthand Drive. Being your in the US, I assume that you want a Lefthand vehicle. We have found out that Kuwait has LHD vehicles. refer to the forum here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20681 You may want to contact the "starter" of that forum. As for GTR bits, over here in Oz, we are trying to get the one fibreglassing company to stock all bits, but Japan maybe a better source.

240K coupe on ebay
I would be very interested to find out how much he paid for the car from the QLD owner. There is no mention of a reserve. Damn profiteers! I hope he is in for a shock. The car now seems to be a GT and not a GL, oh, Leather! That would be a first. I have asked for proof. Still it is a very nice example and would look good in anyone's Garage. ;-)

240K Sedans for sale EBAY
Hi Tom, Lower compression with two head gaskets, run fixed timing without vac advance and put a big clutch in there. Otherwise L24E.s and L28E.s come up quit well with a good 0.63 A/R T3 Turbo kit bolted on the side. However, runinng standard (original) EFI (which back in those days was analogue) You Will Need to install an extra fuel injector driver running at least an 80 HP injector. Oh, and of course, a better fuel pump.

240K Sedans for sale EBAY
I just had a look too and noticed something wrong with that interior. I had a 1982 Nissan Patrol that looked just like that ;-) As for the motor, it's an L20A efi turbo. They are a great source of bits to put a Turbo on a L24, L24 or L28. Years ago you could buy them off pallets from Japan for $300. I bought one just to get the Turbo Sump, Oil Lines, Rocker Cover and Exhaust Manifold. The motor itself is not much chop. If any of you have driven a 2 door R30 powered buy one (their natural home), you will understand. None the less, it will be interresting to see how much he sells it for. I'm thinking 2/3 his current starting price.

anyone got a parts car still?
Crap ! I did not get the x-member of the other two cars beacuse I thought it was different. I shall look on the parts car tommorrow, but don't hold you breath as it doe not have the gearbox (or diff) in it only the lower half of the engine.

my 240 k State of Kuwait " nice car "
There is something you do not see every day - White Wall Tyres ! Nice work صل . I like the conversion. What did you do with your rear suspension? I have tried high power conversions to 240Ks but after increasing the power over 350 to 400 hp the back end tends to crouch down and the front lifts under extreme accelaration. Nice Work ;-)

AAARRGGHH!! not built for a turbo :(
I like my idea better. Have TWO CARS !!! One dressed up very clean and original (With the exception of a L28EFI) and the other has the L28EFI Supercharged Turbo !!! Just swap the plates for the inspection . . .

anyone got a parts car still?
Kent, The recent two I striped and the one I brought back were all auto's. Hence the no comment earlier. I have looked into using a R30 crossmember without success as they are very different. I still have the centre console I am bringing up for you. Lets hope that still fits with all the tunnel mods.

240K GTR Flares
Back to the subject at hand: I think the best way to approach this is for everyone to contact the bloke directly. Michael, I will order yours and PM you about payment and postage. Otherwise: The company name is Challenge Fibreglass, located in Camberwell, Victoria, Australia. Phil is the owner you can call him on 0418 567 019 or email him on phil@melbpc.org.au. He is a little slow on email replies.

240K GTR Flares
Hi Everyone, Phil called me back today, he has made one set of flares because I told him last week that I wanted to get this sorted before I move to Sydney in the next 3 weeks. But, he is holding off untill I get final numbers for everyone else. Kent, if you want some, I will bring them up with me. Michael (Ktyler), Time permitting I can still send you a set. But FINALLY, who else wants some NOW as he can run off a batch? I would prefer everyone to deal directly with Phil for payment and postage - As I am running out of time. PS: Kent, he has had a look at the spoiler pics and believes that the front would cost about $110 and the rear about $140 if the underneath is not too complicated. Thats to have a secound set made for whoever wants them. No cost to you for making the moulds. I will post the contact details out tomorrow.

240K GTR Flares
Hi Kent, I have just had a chat to Phil at Challenge. He says that it is not that hard to make moulds and it probably would not cost you anything. Especially if the four of us that are interested in getting flares are keen on the front and rear spoilers too. He prefers the items to be in good condition and unpainted. But painted will work, it's just that during the mould process, as it shrinks, it is possible that the paint could be damaged. It has happened only once or twice before. But generally, all is good. He has asked to be sent some pictures of the spoilers. Do you have some? or should I just send him some fitted pictures from other peoples cars? As for the Flares, he is still looking for the moulds. I explained to him that I would like to hurry this up as I am moving to Sydney at the end of the month. Even after telling him that 4 or 5 people are interested, I think we will end up getting them in his time - if you know what I mean.

240K Coupe Spare Parts
I started sorting out the mountain of crome today which I think is going to be the worst part of the job. But the important part of the exercise was to get the side window cromes for my blue car. Everthing else is a bonus. I scored two fuel tanks out of the other two parts cars, but when I was cleaning them - I found one full of rusty petrol which isnt a good sign. The outer shells/skins look great. It would be a same to bin the rusty one. By the looks of things it has got a bit of rain water in the tank because they had removed the filler cap. Has anyone had any experience refurbishing/flushing the inside of a tank? I was thinking of flushing it with Mineral Turps ???

Apparently they are Sigma Wheels. I'm told there are spacers behind them. Pitty there are only 3 !

And Some More. Note the AC Compressor, lines & Radiator. Didn't some one want these? I wouldn't mind keeping the mounting bracket (If it is compatable with the Super Charger) Otherwise all the rest is rubbish.

240K Coupe Spare Parts
Well Guys, I finally got up to Bendigo to pick up the car & parts late on Saturday afternoon and found that the one car I wanted to take home (the Green one) was not complete. I was told it did not have a Engine of Gear Box, which was fine as I plan to put a R30 2.4E in it anyway, but there was no Diff ! The Body is a straight as my Blue one, So I still managed to get it on the Tandium Trailer and got it home by 2:00am this morning. The other two cars became the Parts Cars. The White one was exceptitional, which was a pitty as it had hit a tree head on. The Blue one was a rust bucket. I got alot of parts, cromes, interior bits, 4 consoles, 2 sets of rear side windows, a non-matching set of doors, 1 bonnet, couple of seats. Unfortunately the dashes were not complete, so we suffered there. That and I ran out of time and light to get a Diff for the Green one. I'm off now to unload the Cage Trailer full of bits down at my Factory. I'll sort out what I have got, sort out what I need, and then work throught the list to see what I can give you all. PS: Kent - I got your fuel tank and it's a good one. PPS: Michael - Sorry mate, not enough time to get a 1/4 panel.

240K GTR Flares
I have just called Phil from Challenge, He has been unable to find a front or rear spoiler for a 240K. There was something in his Database, but it indicated they were waiting on someone to provide an original to make a mould from. (It's not looking good so far) I let him know that ther are 6 people interested in the side flares. He is still looking for the moulds. Datsfun/Preet - He does not have anything for a 180BSSS, but he thinks he knows someone that might. I will keep chasing him up for you. Everyone - As soon as he has found the moulds, I shall let you know for final orders.
