Does anyone have the dimensions and a photo(s) of the original battery (manufactured by Yuasa) that was installed in the Series 1 cars? The dealer says that the current part number for the Group 24C battery is 999M1-NB24C. I want to verify that the dimensions, terminal post positions, and appearance are close to original. Thanks, Keith

Dilemma: The belt on the vehicle is an Atlas 791 10W non-cogged, non-ribbed in size 13/32” x 48 5/8”. This is comparable to Gates/Goodyear/Dayco 7480 or 15480. I cannot verify that Atlas was the original belt included in the dealer installed a/c systems. I have not been able to locate a Nissan branded belt in this size. I have located a Bando brand (current supplier to Nissan for replacement belts) in the correct size. This belt is cogged, non-ribbed. So my options are 1. Keep the old Atlas on the vehicle 2. Install a Bando brand belt 3. Obtain an alternative aftermarket belt that is non-cogged or non-ribbed. As always, I am trying to keep the vehicle as original as possible. Any suggestions?

Esprist, Thanks for the list. Now to the second part of my post: quality of reproduced decals currently available? Keith

I have to replace all the engine compartment decals on my 1970 240Z. I have visited several web sites that offer some decals but none offer a comprehensive list of the decals affixed to the car at the time of production. Does anyone have such a list? Also, I am interested in feedback on the quality of reproduction decals that are available. I am specifically interested in how the decals have retained their appearance over time; including the quality of the adhesives used, the sharpness of the lettering and the effects of heat and moisture on the appearance. Thanks, Keith

Mike, I did not check the tire. I was so distracted with discussing the project with the shop owner that I did not have time to look at the tire. (Most of the interior was pulled out and is stored in an adjacent building. This helps to ensure that any dust and other airborne particles do not contaminate the "delicate" parts.) I do have several more RD-150s and Z-1 tires at my home. These were spare tires I acquired over the past 22 years. Unfortunately, I did not keep track of the cars they were removed from, so I cannot ascertain what model year car they were in. One or two (possibly three) are on the 4.5" width wheel, so I think it is safe to say they were from a 1970 model year car. Others are unmounted. Sometimes I asked the prior owners to dismount the wheel and just ship me the tire. (I was trying to minimize the shipping costs.) Keith

I measured the existing belt at 13/32” x 48 5/8”. This is comparibale to the Gates 7480 or ACDelco 15480. I would like to locate a Nissan branded belt in this size. Does anyone have a recommendation of an Nissan OEM compatable application? Thanks, Keith

Mike, The spare is RD-150. The prior owner replaced the four (4) driving tires prior to when I purchased the car in 1987. I would be very surprised that the Nissan would install one type of tire on the driving wheels and another type of tire on the spare. The car is at the body shop being reassembled, so I do not have access to the date codes on the wheels. Keith

I believe the specific name for the tires are; Bridgestone RD-150 Toyo Z-1 FYI, my Jan 1970 production car was fitted with the Bridgestone RD-150 tire. Both tires carry the designation "175HR14" and are a 80 series tire. It is difficult to locate an accurate replacement (although not in the Bridgestone or Toyo brand) in the size 175/80R14, however there are some still available. Kathy & Rick, What is the DOT code on the Fulda tires? Keith

Does anyone know the size of the a/c belt for a side mounted York a/c compressor? Also, does anyone have the OEM part number for this belt? (FYI, the York was a dealer installed item for the 1970 240Z.) Thanks, Keith

Pardon the poor images, but I do not have a quality scanner at hand. The DuPont Color card, page A-75354 listed the Paint Code 920 as follows: Lucite Code: 8717L Centari Code: 8717A Dulux Code: 8717D Keith
  21. I have been approached by several people who have "Nissan Genuine Key Value" parts for sale. I have found only one reference to these part: Key Value" standing for KEY products providing VALUE for money, is the registered trademark for the exclusive use of Nissan Motors. "Key Value" parts are designed to conform to Nissan quality standards and are suited especially for use after the warranty period to maintain excellent performance in respect to the vehicle's age and condition. Despite the high quality, "Key Value" parts are priced substantially lower than factory fit equivalents. The Key to Economy and Reliability is therefore applied as a key word for "Nissan Genuine Key Value". "Nissan Genuine Key Value" refers to those parts approved by Nissan Motor as genuine parts, in addition to the current genuine product lineup, which are original equipment parts used during Nissan vehicle manufacturing. Does anyone have experience with the quality of these parts? Does anyone have a list of the Key Value that fit the S30? Thanks, Keith
