Per the ad: https://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/pts/d/dallas-1975-datsun-280-original-factory/7327618765.html 1975 Datsun 280 Z Original Factory Seats and seat belts from the 8,000 original mile car we built on the show and featured at SEMA offered by Gas Monkey Garage. This is a VERY Rare set of Original Factory OEM Seats and the correct date coded seat belts from the 1975 Datsun 280Z we built on the show and was displayed at SEMA in 2018. Sold as a set only for $995.00 OBO, this means if you only want 1 seat, the price is $995.00 OBO and I’ll give you the other one for free! “Badass Ain’t Cheap & Cheap Ain’t Badass”! located here at the shop where they can be picked up M-F 9-6 by appointment only, just message me to set up a time to come by, please do not just show up without an appointment, there may not be anyone to help you if you do. $995.00 OBO CASH ONLY! 2. All, 1) Is the hook and loop (Velcro) sewn to the front (and rear???) carpet or is the stick on type of hook and loop? 2) Which part of the Velcro, the hook (rough side) or the loop (smooth side) is sewn to the carpet? The other side would be glued to the metal floor.) Thanks, Keith

  4. Dennis, I prefer not to offer any negative comments in the setting of a public forum. (Unfortunately, my experience has had it's ups and downs, due greatly to suppliers of products.) I only extended an offer to personally share recent experiences with you. However, if you prefer a sanitized summary of my experience I can document that here. Keith
  5. I am always ready to share the details of my recent conversations with Distinctive Industries, Seatz Manufacturing (Bryan), Motorsport Industries/The Z Store (Greg) and Classic Datsun Motorsports (Les). Keith

Here is the closest material I have found: http://trf.zeni.net/webcatalog/specials9.35/38.php?s_wt=1133&s_ht=906 Unfortunately, it is light beige/cream natural color. I have found a supplier of natural dyes (https://www.jacquardproducts.com/procion-mx), who previously indicated he was too busy to take on the project of formulating a brown dye to match the original color. Hopefully, in the next few months I’ll have a quote of the pricing for the project. Keith

Has anyone purchased and installed the ZStore/MSA Vinyl Seat Kit OEM Style Upholstery Restoration Kits (https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic08f01) during 2020? If so, what is your opinion on the similarity of the vinyl grain pattern to the original vinyl that Nissan used? Thanks, Keith

Thanks all. My project is a seat latch assembly that is 3" long. It will not be touched very often, so the finish does not have to be as hard as real chrome. Has anyone used Molotow Burner Chrome Spray Paint https://www.hobbytown.com/molotow-burner-chrome-spray-paint-150ml-mlw443/p823931 Keith

Anyone have experience with Spazstix Ultimate Mirror Chrome (https://www.hobbyrecreationproducts.com/collections/spazstix-ultimate-mirror-chrome)? I have an interior trim part that needs a chrome appearance and I am concerned that this paint will not be durable enough to withstand the fingerprint touching. Thanks for your input. Keith

You should consider the paint work first. Prepping the car for paint should uncover any prior body damage. At that time, you can assess whether the car is worthy of your investment of time and money. If you decide the car is worth the investment, complete the paint work then move on to the interior. Are you planning to change the exterior color? If so, then a thorough repaint requires doors, hood, hatch and engine removal. Good luck (and add photos to your postings to let us know how the project progresses). Keith
