  4. All, Your comments have been very enlightening. Perhaps it is possible to create a sub group of members who would be interested in reviewing other member's cars (via photos) to provide feedback. My personal goal is to have a mechanism in place to evaluate a 240Z, or a portion of a 240Z (engine, suspension, interior, etc.) before the car is subjected to 'uninformed" comments/criticisms. There appears to be several 240Z previously sold that proport to be "restored", "refurbished" or "renewed" that lack some readily available parts. Had the sellers had their 240Zs reviewed by knowledgeable 240Z enthusiasts it is quite possible that their vehicle values would have been greater than they realized via a sale. By extension, the rest of the community would benefit by increased values and offer greater reward for our 240Z ownership. What are your thoughts on creating such a sub group of members? Keith
  5. Is the inspection lid rubber cushion correct? Keith
  6. Rear deck jute underlay missing. Rear bumper end packing from a later model year. Air filter housing should not have decals. (Subject to validation from other Jan 1970 owners.) Driver floor mat heel pad is aftermarket. Seat belt hooks missing from outside of seat backs. Left seat rail missing end cap (possible). Awaiting confirmation of: No urethane suspension Correct 11 mm ball joints Correct oil suspension inserts A very impressive build. Keith

  8. Cars of Hershey: Purchased in 2021 Jim (VaCat33) at https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-240z-161/ Unfortunately, Datsun and Nissan vehicles were not well represented. A 1975 280Z (white with pinstriping and multiple rear bumper overrides) seems to be the only Datsun/Nissan sold. Keith

  11. How about a full respirator suit when shooting paint. Nothing like sacrificing workers' health! Keith
  12. Kats, My 1969 Patrol L60 has a 3.956 L pushrod motor. (The L Series is a "modern" engine, never envisioned by the Patrol designers.) Keith
  13. I did not buy the Prince toolbox. I too am always on the look out for tools, however I concentrate on Standard (non-metric) tools that were originally included with my early Datsun projects. Keith
  14. Kats, Interesting your tool box is tan (bamboo), similar color to my Patrol box. There is also a gray color Prince box: Keith
  15. So is it more common for the capacitor to be mounted in the plug or on the radio circuit board?
  16. When removing the antenna cable from the back of the radio, the male plug broke. The plug appears to have a capacitor with the natation “180PF +-10% 50V”. What purpose does this capacitor serve? Thanks, Keith
  17. I am installing NOS storage covers and want to minimize the possibility of them breaking at the fastening knob. Has anyone devised a method to reinforce the cover edges? Thanks, Keith
  18. Beautiful, even the seat vents look authentic. Keith
  19. Can anyone identify the model year application for the application coolant "T" connectors (CTC)? Thanks, Keith
  20. Can anyone identify the model year application for the left throttle bell housing pivot (TBHP) ? (The right TBHP appears to be from a 1970 240Z.) Thanks, Keith
  21. What is the production period this pan is appropriate for? Thanks, Keith
  22. Is this jute sewn to the carpet of your Dec 1971 US 240Z? Also, heel pad appears identical to mine shown in #138 above. Keith
