Cold Air Intake--NOT a "fifteen minute install"
Actually, now that you mention it there is no heat shield. I'm guessing thats not a good thing. yours does look pretty good though, I just got a muffler with the input and output set for horizontal placement.

Cold Air Intake--NOT a "fifteen minute install"
My muffler fits just fine as is. If you had seen what my old one looked like, you would understand. I know the vertical placement is more popular, but i think it would look stupid with the flowmaster muffler. As far as the intake goes, I believe it was made for a ZX, so thats why it sits at the funny angle. That tube is just too short.

She's DONE!!!
I can say that is the nicest Z I have ever seen anywhere. I wish I could see it in person. It must be 10x better in real life. I have never seen a restored or even nice Z in real life ever. I have only ever seen 3 others aside from mine and they were nothing compared to yours. I really hope one day I have the time and funds to do something like that.

Your First car.
87 Buick Century. Only 56k miles on it and the 3.8l V6. Everything aside from the paint was in pristine condition. I still have it and really love that car, just not enough to drive it over my Z. It is used for trips or when the Z is being worked on.

v8 in a 280
I've seen up to a 502 in a Z, but thats a bit much. The 350 is much more practical, especially if you want to drive it around town.

4" Exhaust Tip Too Big?
I found an angle cut 2.5 bolt on down at pep boys that fits right on my 2.25. It doesn't look half bad, but I'm just using it until I can find a weld on. They are harder to come by around here. Pics in the link below. As far as chrome of steel, its really all up to you. Chrome is probably going to be cheaper, but will need polished, whereas you car pretty much just leave steel along and it still looks fine.

Cold Air Intake--NOT a "fifteen minute install"
Mine took about 45 min to install. Removing the box was much easier for me, but getting the new tube into that rubber pipe was very difficult for me too. I found the new tube was larger than the original one on the box. That combined with the fact the rubber had shrunk over time made it nearly impossible to get onto the car. lots of sweat and 2 broken fingernails later i fiallay got it. It does work though, I'll give it that. And the people I ordered it from are using my submitted pic for their ad. Go figure. Pics of the ad and my intake are in my cardomain link below

Really bad day...
Thats why I live in Kansas! that would rally suck though. didn't look too bad either

check this out
Looks pretty cool alright. Truth is, this place is a haven for purists, so that probably isn't going to get a warm welcome here. Not sure what everyone's deal is, but most people cannot stand to see a Datsun with anymore than an original engine.

would anyone be interested in a used 3.0L stroker

Alright, Cool. Thanks guys. I was just wondering if this thing was worth picking up, but I guess a new one is probably the best choice.

Quick Favor
No one has any pics? Oh well. If you every get a chance to get a picture that would be great. I know I wasn't very descriptive of what this thing looks like.

Cracked block or bad gasket??
Mine leaks a little in that exact same spot. It still runs fine, but I am told its the head gasket. Sometimes it leaks really bad, but other days you don't even notice it.

Gas Prices?
Here in Wichita KS it is back down to $2.18 but was $2.27 about 3 days ago.

Quick Favor
Well, the long skinny bolt thing looks the same, but the other part is different. The thing from this car looks like a wide letter "H" with the far sides look something like little angle iron ends connected by a middle piece. Looks like it fastens across the top of the battery? I'm still looking for a pic.
-
Quick Favor
Probably. Mines not rusty, just looks junky because its got the bungee chord holding in the battery. ghetto.

Quick Favor
Hey everyone, I just need a real quick favor. When I got my 280Z, the battery did not have the little device to secure it and is being held in by a bun-gee chord. I found what I think is the little bracket on a 75 280Z in a salvage yard on the floor in the car. I want to get it, but I cannot find how this is used to secure the battery. Question one, is this little bracket going to be the same on my 77 as it is on this 75? And if its possible, could you post a picture of yours so I can see how this thing works. I've been looking online for some time now and cannot find a good pic of this battery area. My Haynes maual also says nothing. Thanks.

New upholstery
Here are a few shots of my seats. I used a quarter to help give you an idea of the gap size. Hope they arn't too dark, its an old camera.
-
New upholstery
Mine cost about $300 From Victoria British. They took a few hours to put on.

New upholstery
Yah, mine were the same kind. I just meant covers as in you don't have to replace all the foam. I had to rip the cloth off down to the big foam pieces inside. I also have a bigger gap too. When no one is sitting in it, you don't really notice it. When you push it down, maybe and inch and a half. I'll post a pic or 2 when i get out there.

New upholstery
I got a set like that for my 280. They really make the whole inside look a lot better and are worth it. Its a bit of a chore getting them on though, I remember It took two of us to get the new covers on my seats. They sure look good.

Whats this called?
i know. As it turns out, before this thing broke it never did turn off the water anyway. That dubbed my AC about useless and when its 102 outside, having the windows down doesn't help much anyways. I was planning on just bypassing the entire heater system. just running the hose in a loop inside the engine bay. Will that be okay?
