I'm with you there.

New Owner! Yay!
About your headlights. Mine didn't work when I first got my car either. Click the brights on and off for a while to see if they come on. Mine had some crud built up on the switch, and clicking the brights a few times wore it off so they work. Just a thought.

Fuel Pressure Regulator
I got one off a 75 Z and it works fine. He charged me $20 for it, but at least it works. Got the car up and running the next day.

The Civic To End All Civics!!!!
Hatchback? I think the proper term is "Lift-gate". If that thing is a hatchback, then so is my mom's minivan.

Fuel Pressure Regulator
Ok, So i'm on my way home today, and some kid in his brand new Hyundai Tiburon GT thinks his car is faster than mine. Naturally he finds out its not . Unfortunately, this comes at a cost to me. I get home to find out my Fuel Pressure Regulator dripping gas. I was hoping it was just one of the hoses connecting to it that cracked, becuase I can not find anywhere on the regulator itself that appears craked. Unfortunately, after replacing all the hoses gas is still dripping off of it. So I looked at MSA and VB and both have replacements for $60+ plus shipping, and a special order one from Autozone is $42. Is this something I can pull off of a parts car? I'm still recovering from the heater valve that I ordered 3 weeks ago (which still hasn't come BTW) and would rather not have to fork over another $60. Would this be a foolish thing to do? or would it be okay, assuming the used one is clean and appears in good shape. If I shouldn't use it, does anyone know where I could get one cheaper?

Radiator cap
If it's the same radiator as is in the 280Z, they will have them at Autozone. Just tell em your car and they should have it.

10th anniversary 280z
I saw that a day or so ago. Though I'm no longer a fan of the ZX (though the 280ZX was what got me hooked on Z's what I originally intended on getting) I would take that thing in a heartbeat. If nothing more than just a cool show car. Its not only a 10th anniversary, but its in great shape.

Who has the most rusty Z?
I dunno about the worst, but mines got some patches. Nothing serious though. Pics in my gallery and link in my sig.

Do I need MSA hoses?
Alright, so it looks like im going to get the hoses they sell. I guess doing it once right is worth more than saving a few bucks and possible having to do it again. Laying upsidedown in 95 degree heat holding a flashlight in one hand, and screwdriver in the other with antifreeze dripping everywhere is no fun.

Do I need MSA hoses?
I'm not really sure if the hoses are originals or not. Im guessing so. The jackass who owned the car before me wasn't smart enough to use a fuel filter, so I'm pretty sure he never replaced any hoses either. Anyone know if these look original or not? Picture I guess I may try to find them at the auto parts store. I have a few days to decide if I want to order them from MSA.

Do I need MSA hoses?
So I finally got around to ordering my new heater valve for my car. Today MSA calls me and asks if I want to include the 2 little hoses for it with my order. They are charging $17 for them. My question is, do I need to use the ones they are selling, or will regualr rubber hose like the kind in the engine bay work down there. The heater valve already cost me $98, so Id rather not add another 17 on if I don't have to. Thanks.

San Francisco Zcar Casting Call
Dang, If i lived there I would do it. That would be really cool to have my car in a movie even though its not that nice. Too bad its a Will Smith movie.

Gas Prices?
Well, the other day it went from $2.44 to $2.59 for regular unleaded. Does anyone use midgrade in the Z? regular unleaded makes my engine knock and Premium is almost $2.80 a gallon.

240Z for sale in paper
What I mean is, do you have a picture of what these slotted Mags look like? I have heard about them, and saw what I believe might be a set at a salvage yard, but don't know if they are the right ones.

Cold Air Intake--NOT a "fifteen minute install"
Actually, now that you mention it there is no heat shield. I'm guessing thats not a good thing. yours does look pretty good though, I just got a muffler with the input and output set for horizontal placement.
-
Cold Air Intake--NOT a "fifteen minute install"
My muffler fits just fine as is. If you had seen what my old one looked like, you would understand. I know the vertical placement is more popular, but i think it would look stupid with the flowmaster muffler. As far as the intake goes, I believe it was made for a ZX, so thats why it sits at the funny angle. That tube is just too short.

She's DONE!!!
I can say that is the nicest Z I have ever seen anywhere. I wish I could see it in person. It must be 10x better in real life. I have never seen a restored or even nice Z in real life ever. I have only ever seen 3 others aside from mine and they were nothing compared to yours. I really hope one day I have the time and funds to do something like that.

Your First car.
87 Buick Century. Only 56k miles on it and the 3.8l V6. Everything aside from the paint was in pristine condition. I still have it and really love that car, just not enough to drive it over my Z. It is used for trips or when the Z is being worked on.

v8 in a 280
I've seen up to a 502 in a Z, but thats a bit much. The 350 is much more practical, especially if you want to drive it around town.

4" Exhaust Tip Too Big?
I found an angle cut 2.5 bolt on down at pep boys that fits right on my 2.25. It doesn't look half bad, but I'm just using it until I can find a weld on. They are harder to come by around here. Pics in the link below. As far as chrome of steel, its really all up to you. Chrome is probably going to be cheaper, but will need polished, whereas you car pretty much just leave steel along and it still looks fine.

Cold Air Intake--NOT a "fifteen minute install"
Mine took about 45 min to install. Removing the box was much easier for me, but getting the new tube into that rubber pipe was very difficult for me too. I found the new tube was larger than the original one on the box. That combined with the fact the rubber had shrunk over time made it nearly impossible to get onto the car. lots of sweat and 2 broken fingernails later i fiallay got it. It does work though, I'll give it that. And the people I ordered it from are using my submitted pic for their ad. Go figure. Pics of the ad and my intake are in my cardomain link below

Really bad day...
Thats why I live in Kansas! that would rally suck though. didn't look too bad either

check this out
Looks pretty cool alright. Truth is, this place is a haven for purists, so that probably isn't going to get a warm welcome here. Not sure what everyone's deal is, but most people cannot stand to see a Datsun with anymore than an original engine.
