  1. Awesome! That'll give me a firm deadline to finish a couple Z's!!

damn, I missed them. I'm looking for 240k light too. I think they would look pretty sweet on my 280zx spyder.
  3. He'll hose you on shipping - been there, done that. Buy from ANYONE else.
  4. I would avoid any lifts made in China. I've heard a lot of bad things about them - some of that could be fear and doubt by US suppliers. Since me and my vehicles are under the lift, I really want to do all I can to make certain it's safe, the vendor has a good reputation & long history. FWIW
  5. I have a 4 post lift. Mine is a huge beast (Rotary brand, 19 feet long, 12,000 pound lift) that I got a good deal on from a muffler shop that was going out of business. The sad part is it's just about a foot short of being able to hold 2 Z's. (kind of an issue for me). Right now I have one Z on it and the twins are underneath while I paint the '73 on the other side of my 30x40 shop (which is too damn small!) The posts don't get in the way at all. Make sure you can remove the ramps - those DO get in the way. I'm very happy with mine. Hope that helps. Cheers, Glen
  6. Great idea. I'd be in for 2 complete sets and maybe some partial ones, like the timing cover set you mentioned. Nice to have a solid supplier - please post your ebay username!

And here I was hoping for more booby and less trap.

Wow - what a find! I could use that ZX convertible frame for mine!

All is fine at my place. In looking at the tornado maps, one of them tracked very close to my place, fortunately it didn't touch down. Kenny called me last night, he's OK. Mike postponed some suspension work at Kenny's last night, so I'll assume he's ok too. The big storm east of all of us did the most damage.
  10. Thanks Mr Camouflage. I've contacted him and we're seeing what we can do. Cheers, Glen
  11. Have you checked the voltage on your battery? Check both on the battery posts as well as the cables coming off. I had a battery cable that gave a bad connection at the post. How old are you battery cables? Maybe check continuity on each of them too. Good luck! Glen

Sorry I couldn't make it. Looks like I missed out. My '71 would have looked pretty sad next to yours though - it really needs a paint job! I'm looking forward to the next time around, hopefully I can make that one. Cheers, Glen
  13. Hi Matt - If you have another set of tail lights, I'd be interested. I'm building up a ZX Spyder, and think those lights would add an interesting detail. Thanks, Glen

Good point, Arne. I wonder what engine he really has in it. Even though he's close by, I'm not curious enough to go look at. My shop is full.

Here we go again, another 155 mph car. It must tbe true, he has a picture. http://denver.craigslist.org/car/643987893.html
  16. Thanks for the tip on ZCCC meetings. I'd prefer to avoid the political and just stick to the love of cars.... and I'm an old(er) guy at 45. :ogre:
  17. Sounds like a tremendous deal! Way to go! Hopefully that 260 engine & tranny combo is as advertised! Keep us posted.
  18. Welcome to CO! Wow, the guy is pretty top-heavy in that one. There are a lot of nice Z's around the area, it just takes a bit of looking and some luck. I haven't join the Colorado Z Club (http://www.zccc.org/) yet, but been thinking about it for a while. They may be able to provide some additional local guidance in your car search.
  19. I take it neither of you have lived in the Denver area very long. The news has constant stories of mag chloride reserves with every snow storm. Search the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, etc will provide several articles on its use in Colorado. Some examples: http://denver.yourhub.com/Lakewood/Stories/Ask-Dot/General/Story~168812.aspx http://www.thedenverchannel.com/video/2690818/index.html Cheers
  20. Ahhh, but Colorado DOES put down Mag Chloride, and has for the past few years. Before that it was essentially sand - one of the main causes for the "brown Cloud" seen around Denver. I'd pass on it, there are nicer cars around for similar money. How much work are you willing to do on the car to get it ready to race? Is a complete builder an option?

Wait a minute.... I thought beer and women WAS culture

Rick - I feel your pain and agree with Mike, no Z's running around in Colorado. Then again, I had one of mine out a couple of days ago, it was mad at me for being left in the shop. I tried to explain I was protecting her from the snow and the nasty chemicals they put down so the Californians can drive here After a nice run down a local highway, she was much happier. Hopefully I'll run her around again this weekend - in addition to working on the 260 and the 280ZX spyder. Boy, I hope to have that toy out and about soon! Cheers, Glen

Ron, I'd like the measurements too. Being in Colorado, I'm too far away to ship yours. So this will give me the chance to bend some steel and weld some more! Cheers, Glen Can a person ever have too many Z's?
  24. Have you checked your points? Make sure they are good - be sure to check for proper dwell. I had this problem on my '71. The dwell was way off, now it wraps up great and runs like a dream. Cheers, Glen
  25. Restoration isn't always about the money spent, it's about the process. For me, I have a hell of a lot more fun spending a weekend in my shop rebuilding sections of a car, cussing about a broken bolt, trying to find the correct replacement part, etc. than I do driving virtually any 'new' anything. Then again, driving one every now and then would be a lot of fun.
