The "Prince" refers to the Prince Motor Company that merged with Nissan in 1966. Rather than sound like an authority on the subject, I will refer you to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Motor_Company. Nissan has a pretty interesting history!
  2. Yep, as long as the Z its going on is a '77 or '78. Bolt it up!

Hey! You mentioned a kind of 'Foam Seal' that had rotted away. I have been using Closed Foam sheet under the dash on my Z. The foam is what you place under a door jamb. It comes in a big roll, is about 4 inches wide and is light blue in color. I bought mine at Lowes Home Improvement... This stuff can be cut and glued with Contact Cement into about any shape you need. It does not rot and works great replacing the foam transitions between the Heater Box/Cowl, Heater Box/AC Ducting. I even covered my AC copper lines between the firewall and Evaporator. I will see if I can get a picture.
  4. I used an grinder to take off the lip of the original bushing and then caved it in and drove it out with a chisel. Once you then driven the new one back in its place, you'll want to flare the lip back like the old one. You can hammer it into a lip or use a hacksaw and cut the bushing down to the Mustache Bar at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions. Spray with some paint, done.
  5. I am not sure if this will be a good thing or not, but I created a 'Social Group' called 'Houston Area Classic Zcar Club Owners'. This might be a good area to keep all of our ramblings together. Click and join....

I am going to do the same thing on my '78, and wanted to know how much of the QuietCar you ordered? I am considering spraying the material inside the doors and other openings, but I will be applying it to the underside of the rear rather than the inside. Did you coat the inside of the roof?? I am concerned the headliner wont stay glued. I am here is Houston, I would love to come and take a look! PM me if you would like to get together. Andrew(ZCurves)

I have been working on this one for a while! After admiring all of the rest of the fine paint jobs that everyone has shared, I though that I should get some recent pics of mine. I just want to get my hands on it to begin re-assembly! Notice the "Shaved" antenna! New antenna is going incognito!

The last thing I would do is take it to a junk yard! They will pay you about $500. You will do better by selling it to one of us on this list. I live here in Houston, we should have a Beer Meeting and just see what is 'Totaled'. I mean lets take that fender off and really look at the sub-frame. I know that for a little cash it can be put square again. Fenders and hoods are cheap and available. Don't look at all the damage in total, but rather in sections (ok Fender, Rad Support, Hood....). From the looks of your earlier picture, I am thinking that it could be pulled out. If not, I have already offered you the replacement sub-frame from 'ol-rusty'. DO NOT give in to the Insurance Co. or the desire for a quick resolution. this can be recovered. You have a choice. You own the car, not the Insurance Co. They'll give you $500 and then it will go to Pick-A-Part; then it will be another Z gone. I say bullshh !

Looks like you've got the answer to the 'clunk'. For weatherstripping you can check out Blackdragon or Motorsport Auto (MSA). Both of those companys use rubber made by Precision Replacement Parts or PRP.com. They offer a complete kit for the car. If you are interested in carpet and seat covers, both Blackdragon and MSA have good selections and pretty nice quality.

You need to clean the Throttle Linkage as well as the Throttle Body. You should also check the Return Spring on the TB is in good shape (It is the long straight on on the under side.) - There should be no rust. You can gently pry up the Throttle Linkage 'Ball and Sockets' to clean and lube. They pop back on. Finally, you should check the Throttle Pedal and the bushings under the dash! Do you have a Factory Service Manual??
