Great Pics! On a related note, I'm working F&C at the Denver Grand Prix this coming weekend. In addition to the Champ Cars, Trans Am and Speed World Challenge cars will be there too. Can't wait...Robert

Hey auxilary, that's a nice install. Yes, I did buy the 2 1/16" gauges, because I trusted the name "Z-Series". Live & learn.

It looks like I bought the wrong Mechanical Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges, for my '71 240Z. From looking at the Summit Racing site, I thought it was a no-brainer. I ordered the Auto Meter Z-Series ATM-2604 Oil Pressure 0-100 psi gauge: http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=atm-2604&x=0&y=0&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp and the Auto Meter Z-Series Water Temp 120-140 gauge: http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=atm-2607&x=0&y=0&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp But they're way too small. What gives? Which gauges should I have bought? Check out the attachments???

I had my 280ZX dizzy rebuilt by Kim Blough at Idaho Z. I bet he has some. You can reach him at 1-208-466-0004.

Dr. Joe, as you call him, sure has alot of good info on his site, quite the resource, but then I do own an '83 in addition to my '71. Thanks for the link. mlc240z - I'll try that gound idea, thanks. I think long term I'm going to replace some of the guages, but I haven't done any searching yet to see what others are using. TGIF...Robert

I'm trying to track down why my Temp guage reads too high. It's usually reading about 3/4 to the right, say around 220? But yesterday I took my '71 to a Z mechanic for some fine tuning, and we proved that it's actually running around 180, by using a thermometer. Over the last 3 months, I've replaced the Temp Sending Unit, Radiator, Rad Cap, Thermostat, and hoses. And yesterday we tweaked the Valves, Timing, and Carbs. It's running great! But it's hard to just ignore the Temp guage. Is there such a thing as a Dash Voltage Regulator? I know my Roadster has such a creature, but I can't remember which guages it controls. Also, the mechanic thought that the top half of the guage, the Oil Pressure, was reading too high also. I know that the Z guages aren't accurate, but I'd like to at least try to fix it. Thanks...Robert
  14. I checked my early 260Z last night, and it's set up the same way, but I've only owned it for a couple of years...Robert

    Looks good...Robert
  17. It's interesting to me that the 240Z didn't have the overflow bottle, cause both my 67 Roadsters have medal pressurized overflow catch cans...Robert

I'd have to go with the "Bumble Bee" theme. Black over Yellow

I just wanted everyone to know that I made up for my mistake, by wearing my favorite 280ZX shirt last night, while tweaking the SUs on my '71.
