  1. It is in fact a turbo only inlet hose for the blower that cools the injectors. As to why there are very few of them around, not counting the fact that only the turbos had them, is that the hold-down clamp is a cheap bit of plastic. My guess is that most of them fell off and are out on the side of the road somewhere in America.....
  2. Arne - did you happen to look at the Sebring 09-RL, the 09B-RL, and 67, and the 08A? All dual exhausts and some with dual inlets.
  3. Do you know what this does and where it goes? In more than 10 yrs of looking at Zs in car shows, junkyards and stripping them I have only come across 2 of these. Great idea and I wish I had more. I believe I know why they go missing as well.....
  4. Hemi - it amazing we didn't cross paths at any of those tracks back in the day (my dad and uncles were race fans - the figure 8 at Black Rock, Ct was a favorite). I had Healeys, MGs, Spitfires and finally in '74 stopped by Sharp's and bought a 260. The first sports car that I could actually drive in the rain, at night and across country without breaking down.
  5. Hemi - Race tracks in NE? As a driver? MGs? Go to www.baddogparts.com, click on "about us" then scroll down on the right side until you get to "video2". You can get a partial sense of the sound of the Sebring Tuning muffler. You could also call Rebello and ask them to hold the phone near the engine dyno.
  6. Rebuilt Toyo 4X4 calipers go for $50 to $100 (a side) plus pads, so Z Specialties at $169. w/pads seems more than reasonable. No need for slotted or cross drilled rotors, just get yours' surfaced first.
  7. Old Hemi - no offense intended as my comments where not directed at you but I do stand by them. The same way I stand by my recommendation for a muffler and all the parts I sell. If you come up to CT let me know as I drive through there several times a month and know any number of places to hoist a few. As to driving assistance, if you time it right maybe I'll be your instructor at one of the race course tracks in New England (Lime Rock in Ct, Loudon, in NH, The Glen in NY or NJMS in NJ).
  8. I believe you need to see things "outside the box" and do your own thinking without having someone or some site hand feed you all the info.... It took me less than a minute to click through the website from main page to mufflers (05) to price list ($129.). It's 18-inches long and 6-inches in diameter. Does it list this muffler as one for 240? Nope. Do I know how big a space there is to put a muffler in an S30? Yes. What style and size do I want for my Z? A round one and not one that looks like a mail box, so hence the 05 style in 2.5-inch inlet/outlet diameter with a GT3.5 tip. They also list a contact number to call and since this company is part of the Jim Cook Racing family, they could walk you through the process of selecting the right one for a Z. It sure must make driving difficult if someone has to hold your hand.....
  9. Again, I would suggest what Dave Rebello uses on his engine dyno (and what's on my 3.2L NA motor) - a Sebring Tuning muffler. As Dave says -"if I have to listen to it all day it better sound good". Simple, clean, and not expensive.
  10. comment requesting change to DSP sent.....
  11. I'm sure you have a lot planned for this car but I (and lots of other folks) would love to see you bring it to the ZCON event at Nissan's headquarters in Nashville next July. Whether you care about trophies or not, this Z should easily take home a gold medallion. A truly impressive, obsessive, and wonderful piece of workmanship. Wow....
  12. These are the Bad Dog Parts frame rails for both 240 and 280Zs. Each can be used as a stand-alone replacement or as a cap over an existing rail. They are a bit thicker than the Zedd ones and are made for those folks who have added more hp/torque to their Zs. Both the 240 and 280 versions include a front section that wraps around the TC rod box area. The 240 rails go back to the same spot as the OEM versions did and the 280 rails fit exactly like the OEM version. The optional rear section connects the rail all the way back to the front of the cross body member at the rear wheel well. This ties the front in to the back. While designed to mate with the 240 rails, the optional rears can be used on 280s as well.
  13. I believe you'll find rust under the rocker covers, under the battery tray, in the rear wheel wells (front of the rear wheel) and likely in the rear hatch lid. $3,000-$6,000 seems right depending on rust.....
  14. Yeah they do that. Now you will need to insert it back in and check to see if it lines up correctly. A bit of trial and error....
  15. I have use separate single filters, an ITG single and now have a TWM fiberglass box with a K&N cold air set-up for my triple 44mm Mikunis. The JDM SS heat shield is a very piece for the price and I'm likely to get one myself if it's not under the tree this Christmas. I have the ITG large single filter if you like to buy it....
  16. ditto what they said.....I've had them in my 240 (3.2L NA motor) for over 6 years and a lot of hard driving. No problems, no issues, no worries.....
  17. Z Car Club of Rochester, ZANY, ZACNY, and in Canada - Thousand Island and Ontario Z clubs.....
  18. How about using some of the aero-data taken during the Hybridz wind tunnel tests? And Derek, you now have me re-doing my winter priorities (refresh my street Z, add a few mods, refresh the race car, and now it seems build an rFactor set-up)....... Not sure what I can bring to the show but I'm sure Pete (Z-Ya) has some computer skills which might turn out useful to the process. It would sure make the cold, snowy winter months a lot easier to endure.
  19. When in doubt, do one of two things: a) take everything whether you personally need them or not, and/or post where the subject vehicle is so others can go and take what they need DO NOT leave them for the crusher.......
  20. Try either Team Nissan in Manchester or Courtesy Nissan in Texas. MSA may also sell them.
  21. It should be a great warm up for the ZCON 2010 convention being held in Nashville on July 28th thru August 1st. Perhaps a short video of the ZCCR event could be send down to the ZCON convention folks for those unable to attend.
  22. John - I will make sure all of our clubs members in MA, RI, CT, VT, NH, and ME know about this event. We will post it on our club website and will remind folks as the event draws near via a club-wide email announcement.

  24. Here's my version of the 5-piece nose. Mine is now 4 sections, not counting the headlight covers ( 2-piece FG and 2-piece airdam/splitter). I sell the hinges on my site (www.baddogparts.com) should you ever decide to go over to the long side.....
  25. A five dollar Corvair that blew three spark plugs into the rear hood about 10 miles from the POV's house....
