Should i change my water pump?
I've going to do all the belts while i'm converting the alternator to a ZX unit. Since i'm so close should i do the water pump? The car has 82k original miles and the water pump shows no signs of it not working (No wobble, noise, keeps cool). Should i change it since i'm there or leave well enough alone? It looks to be the original unit. Also, the PO supplied me with 3 brand new belts, but they must be 10+ years old. They look perfect (No cracks, ect) Do you think they're still good? Thanks, Jay

Sort of on topic: Does the vaccum advance still work with the pertronix?

Great deal on 240 & early 260Z Tokico illuminas with springs Brand new! (Ebay)
Since they sell for almost wholesale prices, i don't think they give much info/service/support on the stuff they sell. I think you need to have all your questions answered before you buy from them.

How Fast Is Fast To You?
Don't tempt me, resist, must resist I sold a regular R1 almost 2 years ago. I never rode it, but i miss it (And it was faster than anything anyone would ever need on 2 wheels). Those bikes are just plain sick!

How Fast Is Fast To You?
I've done about 155 on a sport bike (ZX6R) and i think the fastest i've ever gone in a car was 135 in a TT 300ZX i owned. I did also go 128 in 10.3 sec in my old supercharged mustang LX. The car makes a huge difference in the feeling of speed as well. When i did the 135 in the ZX i was playing with the radio, one hand on the wheel, in the mustang (full drag suspension, cage and skinnies) you had to hold on/drive for your life. That 128 felt like 200+ I've always been a 1/4 mile guy, in my older age i'd really like to do some twisties/scca. I can't ever seem to figure out how to get involved in something like that. Some day.

Great deal on 240 & early 260Z Tokico illuminas with springs Brand new! (Ebay)
Xray, i'm 90% positive the collars go on the front. Since you haven't put the back in you may have gotten them mixed up. Or maybe i'm wrong? Can any one else verify this?

What is an original 82k l24 motor/tranny worth?
There is one on ebay with more miles than mine right now for $450 starting bid. Is it worth that much? Is their a demand for this engine/trans? I'm just wondering because i never thought that the original setup would fetch any money. If it does i may be closer to a motor swap than i thought. What do you guys think?

Great deal on 240 & early 260Z Tokico illuminas with springs Brand new! (Ebay)
Xray, your car does sit higher than i had thought with tokicos (not nessasarily a bad thing). My car sits significantly lower than your car with my stock springs (which are completely worn). That's why i needed new springs, i can't even get out of my driveway ( i have to drive out on the grass  ). My car will most likely raise up after my install. Someone was asking about collars welded to the front struts? I don't see any on my set. EDIT: Yes the collars are there, i was looking at the rear (which i thought were the fronts). They don't seem to be welded on, they are stuck over a lip in the bottom of the strut (like a sleeve). Xray, maybe you removed these?

Any Aussie members ever have stuff shipped from the US?
I have some valve covers from my previous car for sale on another forum and a guy from Australia wants them. Before i go through the trouble of bringing it down to the post office i was wondering what a ballpark figure would be. He seems to think it may be too expensive. The VC is around 10lbs. Thanks for any imput, Jay

Great deal on 240 & early 260Z Tokico illuminas with springs Brand new! (Ebay)
Hi guys, I just bought my set and figured i'd pass the deal along. 3 sets left. Even if you don't like the Tokico springs, it still comes out cheaper than any store for the Illuminas by themselves. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7956794084&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT Jay

15" Rewinds
Their called "Spring Helpers," or used to be anyway...

Jayru's 72 240Z
It's funny, i hated the color at first and wanted to paint it. But it's really grown on me and now i really like it. It's different. Alfadog, i don't think i'll be able to resist the temptation to mod, but i'll try and keep them tastefull and functional when i do. And hold on to all the stock parts to put it back if i ever wanted to.

Gunmetal or silver Rewinds on a yellow car?
Thanks guys. It's funny, after i put the photoshops up last night i was sure i'd see all the votes for gunmetal. I guess i know which way i'm leaning.

Gunmetal or silver Rewinds on a yellow car?
I hear that. I think if it ever stops snowing enough for me to pull the z out of the garage i need to snap a side shot and photoshop them on to see the difference. I just can't picture them in my mind. I definately love the mean look, but i like that clean look as well. Arg, decisions decisions! Keep the advice coming, and if you know of any pics of gunmetal or silver wheels on a yellow 240 (They dont have to be rewinds but similar) send them my way. Thanks, Jay Edit: Victor you beat me to it! Nice looking z.

Gunmetal or silver Rewinds on a yellow car?
Hi guys, I've decided to buy 15x7 Konig Rewinds. Just wondering which color you would pick? I have the factory yellowish/green tint looking color. I can't decide on gunmetal with a polished lip or silver with a polished lip. The car is all stock body wise. I think the silver will make the car look classier, but the gunmetal may make it look more track/race car tough. But would the gunmetal clash with the yellow? Which do you think would look better? Thanks for the opinions, Jay
