There was no check valve on the 70, I do plan on putting one on in the future.
  6. Carl, You were right the clutch was not engaging fully, I also have a lot of slop where it is pinned. I managed to tighten it up a little and got another 1/8" out of adjustment. Took off the rubber bump stop on the floor board and now I have some clutch. It will get me through Zfest this week end, then I will take it apart and fix it right. I want to thank you and everyone for their help, it is awsome that you guys are willing to share you knowledge. I hope I can help out too. Mark

  8. Carl, I will check that out, when I installed it was all the way at the end of the adjustment....I guess a 1/8" can make a difference.

Will, I checked it out no change in idle while pumpimg the brakes, I believe it is the booster, It looks like I will not have to break the system to change it out got any tips on changing out the booster?? Thanks Capt Mark
  11. Not only am I having brake issues.....I have a clutch issue........ Ok, I said before the car sat for 5 years......it is a 70/240 I replaced the master and slave, bled it out 10 times and have 5% clutch. The tranny is a 5 speed (stamped 7X22625) the slave that was on it when I bought it was 70 adjustable so I replaced it and the master with OEM replacement. The car will not go into reverse while running and the forward gears are tough as well. The original owner had the conversion done at the Nissan dealership in Palm beach, FL......Not sure which direction to go from here.......any help would be a big help Thanks Capt Mark Mark

"1) To check the booster, pull off the hose hoing from it to the intake manifold(take it loose at the manifold.) suck on it-the vacuum should not leak down, if it does, the diafram is broken." I went out and hooked a vacum up to the boost and got zero, I bled out the system 4 times....I primed all the line with a vac the had some pump and hold the pedal with a hose in the cup method. No air in the system....... BUT the car was not running will this make the difference.......

Ok here it goes..... The car has not run for five years, bringing it back to life...... I completely opened and fushed the lines, installed a NEW master, NEw rear wheel cylinders, NEW brakes and hardware all around, bled it out 3 times, there is NO air in the system, no leaks, everything looks like it should. Could the brake booster be bad? How do I check it? any other ideas? Thx Capt Mark

Well after a five month search I found and bought a 1970 240 (HLS300 5023) I found it in a garage and had been sitting for 5 years. The previous owner was a young doctor, he had put it storage in order to go back to school. He bought it as a project car to restore but ran out of time not $$. He had done a lot to it prior to putting it in storage. New radiator, new seat kit, new vinyl kit, new wiring harness, new header and exhaust, K&N filters, new carpet, 5 speed conversion, and more. No cracks in the dash and minimal rust. I transported it home on a trailer, drained the fuel tank, vacuumed the fuel lines, dump the bowls, put a new fuel filter on, and dropped in a red top battery. It cranked up on the fourth try, dumped the oil and put a new set of plugs in. Motor runs great but, all the hydraulic are shot. Next I placed an order to MS; new master, new wheel cylinders, new clutch master, new slave, SS hydraulic lines, brake hardware kits, new shoes and pads, electronic distributor, a set of silver rewinds. I order tires too, 215/55 15 Kumos. I hope to be rolling by Z fest, I just wanted to thank everyone on the forum for their help. I posted some before pics on the member’s gallery, I have a long way to go. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=7354
