  1. ''all of y'all's '' is the true plural form , soon to be accepted by the Oxford dictionary no doubt........

Does the lock button function with the door open ?
  3. So this has happened to me in the past . Look for a lost socket or wrench before assuming anything internal ! I've even found an original key rattling in the cooling fins of my Honda 900 ! Try using a magnet pick up tool in the area of where the sound is coming from. Something , a bolt , or nut might be lodged somewhere you can't see. Good luck .
  4. '' How much does a early JDM 5 speed worth '' '' About 50 dollers '' Listen , all ! That's the sound of Evelyn Woodhead turning over in her grave ! Cheech & Chong comes to mind " My comprenshun has increased wonder fully '' . Is this where we are going with the english language as we know it ? Don't flame me for responding like this , at least TRY to put a thought down with proper grammar and spelling . :tapemouth Sorry , I had to ......

You have the car sitting a long time ? Your gas seems really ''varnishy'' , almost like a cherry colored stain ! I would rebuild the carbs and clean out the system as well . Or , did you use a (lot) of gas stabilizer ?
  6. The comments under the article suggest where this ''Hagerty'' stuff can be filed . What a waste of type and story - leave it to an insurance seller to tell anyone what things are worth , let alone collectable ! Only in the last few years have they decided to play nice with us - this drivel is too ''sweet''.

I know what he's asking - I get asked this all the time . At least twice a week for over 25 years- this is what I do for a living - I'm a locksmith.

Why ? If you have a code for a certain key , a decent locksmith will cut it on a computer controlled machine . More accurate than an old school clipper . I have both, by the way ! But , I'm in Victoria B.C.
  9. BREAK in a clutch ? Do what Stephen ^ said . Downshifting and over feathering a clutch will result in premature wear , and it smells like that's what's going on. Unless your adjustment is out to lunch , use your brakes to slow down . Just my 2 cents worth , no flame intended , man .

    Carl , you mean 10/70 ? or 01/71 ?

Stuck heater valve ? It's open when water / coolant not hot enough ? 2 cents worth .

Sounds like ''intervention'' in more ways than one ! He believes his own script , and we are out to steal it from him.

So the reason I asked if the battery cables were unplugged is : some tenders, like my Optimate 3's , have a recovery mode to ''renew'' sulfated plates before it starts it's charge / float mode . New vehicles require a certain voltage to maintain the ECU memory . The unit senses that the battery is still connected to a vehicle's wiring circuit which effectively offers a lower electrical resitstance than the battery on it's own . No damage will occur to the newer car's battery or vehicle electronics if it isn't removed , but the recovery mode won't function at all (thus no charge ). My '73 Vette killed batteries as well ( probably the clock ) but because it was ''old'' (no computer ) I left it connected. My FX45 however needed the battery disconnected ( both have red top Optimas ). You can reflash the ECU manually if you get any fault codes on that vehicle , no need to bring it to a dealer . ( re the guy with the G35 or 350Z ).

Did you disconnect the car's battery cables before using the tender ?

I'm still ''plugging'' away , some 25 years later...... but now I own a company!

Darrel ! Finally someone who uses the correct terminology . The dust shield is a separate assembly that sits underneath the facecap. It may be available from the dealer , but an unassembled aftermarket lock cylinder assembly will have it floating in the bag . So , have you taken a lock apart ? Sometimes the spring that holds the little door closed needs to be repositioned , the door ''flattened'' out , and re installed . You will need replacement facecaps with the bendable ''tangs'' or tabs to hold everything in place . A decent locksmith with a foreign auto kit should have these facecaps . Maybe parts ( dust shields ) as well !

I'm convinced my work van was broken into because of this ! All they had to do was type in your type of business, search for a home based business , look at the google street view of the house and surrounding area, and make their hit at 4:00 am Boxing day morning ! This happened within 3 weeks of google showing the street view right next to the online ad !!! :stupid:

Well hi and welcome ! This site has great members with a massive amount of info ! Get to know the ''search'' button well , and your many questions will be answered . Even if it might look like a rusty bucket of bolts, a pic or two usually gets the ball rolling !
  20. Sigh , I wish I was young(er) again and had more time like you ! I'm ''stuck'' owning a business that requires 24/7 attention . The saving feature is that I live on Vancouver Island , those pics of the hairpins reminds me of the highway past Alberni to Tofino !

Do a search here ! Read , and come up with your own conclusions . You have 2 whole years, right ?

I can encourage you by saying in a couple of years fuel economy won't be your concern ! I'd say a decent 240z won't be available . Get one now , or go with a newer car that has much better safety , no rust , and parts are cheap.
  23. Oh, never mind, already covered ....:disappoin
  24. This might garner some interest - ebay item # 280448628420 For those with the real ( brittle ) thing , here's an alternative ! Works wheels that you can beat on without risk !

I agree ! Does anyone have a better tailight gasket source other than paying 80 bucks for the ebay ones ?
