Your right it does need to be wider the original is not wide enough. Also what motor does it need cant have a V6 with that long hood. Maybe one of the skyline strait sixs or hmm a Nissan v8.

Z Concept Feedback
Thanks for all the feedback. Did some quick changes starting to move from a quick concept sketch to something that shows some of the volumes of the car so see if its working out. Also while moving from the quick sketch to something more solid I changed some of the proportions to start being closer to a real car. The wheels are still basicly space holders but you can get the idea. Any way trying to make up my mind if I like the over all proportions etc. If so I will start working on the details like head lights.

Thats interesting I had never looked at Opel GT headlights before. I guese it would be possible to do something like that but have the look more like the original Z hmmmm.

Bravo I can stretch the rear out some but from playing with it earler it looks OK but not much like a z for some reason. When I get a chance I will post an image of one with a longer rear. Also we can do the popup headlights if we do that we can just keep the nice smooth front shape of the car without the exposed headlights. I dont like the ones on it now anyway. Thinking of headlights we could just go completly retro like the new mustang end just make scoops with covers like the original one. What do you guys think? Yes Bravo does not look at much like a z. Whats funny is when I set down to just do some drawing I tended to come up with something that looked like a Ferrari like the kits for the Z:) I think thats what I really liked more than the Z. See attachments to see what I tend to lean to in a Z design. Not a Z but pretty.

I know what you mean about it almost looking to much like the original. Its a fine line between a modern interpretation and a direct copy. Still working on more ideas and looking to see what kind of feedback I get then we will see what comes along.

Z Concept Feedback
I am just starting working on some concepts for a new Z concept. After getting to something I like I will do a full rendering but I thought I would start getting some feedback now. Attached are a couple of very early images. Feedback and suggestions would be very helpful.

Looking for a Z
I am not sure where you are but in Fort Worth Texas I know where there is a 240z that is all there with a strait body and ok paint etc. But needs redone. Carbs rebuilt, carpet etc etc. I looked over it and it did not seem to have any rust. Exept surface rust in the floors if I remember correctly. They want about $1300 for it. And if you want to run it without the early style bumpers I will gladly take them off your hands.

if you designed the new z...
Personly I do not believe it would be best to be a slave to the original. Not to mention it would be impossible since you have to have modern bumpers, crash zones, etc etc. But we do need to capture the spirit and style of the car. Also part of the new design could take some of the best from other classic sports cars of the same basic shape. See example photos:

Maybe we should have a Z design contest:)

Rx7 Seats
It was rather easy to mount them. I took the mounts off the RX7 seats and put the factory 260z rails on them. I had to drill one hole for each frame rail and used one hole that was already on the bottom of the RX7 seats. Then you have the same distance front to back on the rails but they are wider than the factory seats so you have to drill new holes in the Z. Oh and also on the side of the RX7 seat that takes factory rail that had the slider control you have to make a little bend in the metal so that it has room to bold down snug. Realy not a bad swap. I will try and get some pictures in the next few days.
