Hi recently at the wrecking yard close to my house in the middle of no where they have recieved several Nissans with R200s and I am trying to get info on the ones I should get before they are crushed soon. They have a mid 80s non turbo 300zx, a hmm late 80s early 90s 200sx I think, 280zx turbo that I am buying, 280zx non turbo and varius other nissan cars from the 80s and maybe early 90s. I was searching and keep find a little bit here and there but has any one found a list of models and what R200 they had? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi I purchased a 260z that had been modified with an L28, Webbers etc but one of the things the previos owner did for some reason was take out the vapor recovery stuff. Also he left the open holes in the tank. His solution was to only put maybe half a tank of gas in so it would not splash out. I dont think this can be safe plus it just seems like bad idea in general. So my question is should I track down all of the vapor recovery parts and try and put it all back together or should just come up with something that will let it vent to a safe place or just do the fuel cell? Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give me.
  5. Ahh great thats what I was wondering what things I can use to upgrade onto my 260z. Thanks:)
  6. Oh ya I know. But I need the 5 speed and the R200 and I think both of those should work. Also I already have an L28 with trips on the car but I am thinking of doing the turbo or a V8:)
  7. Sounds like I need to get it home and start moving parts over to my 260:)
  8. Hi I found a 280zx turbo that someone is selling. Its just a parts car really but the motor, transmission is all there. I am mainly buying it for the turbo pieces but what other parts would be good to get off of the car before I have it crushed? I am thinking they had R200s with 3.90 grears but I am not sure. Oh I am getting the parts for my 260z or to sell or trade:)
  9. After looking at some photos in struck me that the GTO conversion for the Datsun and the Daytona Couple have almost exactly the same lines almost all the way around. Any one ever think of buying the kit and using it as a starting point to make your z into a Daytona couple knockoff?
  10. I dont have any pics of them as I was really hoping to sell the entire package instead of parting it out. If for some reason I cant sell the entire package of cars and parts then maybe I will think about it. But probobly whats going to happen is whoever offers the best price for all is going to get everthing.
  11. $2000 for everything all of it if you do it now:) Also I live in the Fort Worth area. Hello I just purchased a z car and I am having to end up selling the one I just purchased plus all my parts cars etc. The main car you can see at http://www.geocities.com/ellencardona@sbcglobal.net/Pictures/Z/ Please do not call or email the person on the page about buying the car as they are the previos owners. This car has an L28 triple webbers, upgraded alternator, bushings, enki rims, good tires, electric fans, performance springs, sway bars. The car also was owned by the same person since 85 and kept in garage until the last 6 months or so. It has a little rust in the passangers floor and the last 2 inches of the frame rail. The rust was cut out and seeled at some time in the past and only seems to have surfuace rust now. The car also has a spot on the roof with 1/8 bondo on it thats cracked but an easy fix. On the rear deck it has a spot about 6 inches across where they took of the enblim and added a little bondo. There is also one spot on the passangers fender at the very bottom at the back. Of course like most of the early cars it needs fixed where the front swaybar mounts. The rest of the car looks good but needs painted. The also has I think 3.83 gears. It sounds like it needs a weelbearing but I drove it home 70 miles and it did fine. I checked and to fix the rust in the floor the spot on the roof and hatch and the mounting points for the swaybar was $300 or almost nothing if you do it yourself. I also have a 280z that has a good 5 speed but I believe jumped time it would idle but not rev above like 3k when I parked it. Its hit from behindso the taillight and one querter panel if messed up. It has good seets and trim inside but the carpet is faded. It has aftermarket mesh aluminum rims. It also has the small tail that need is cracked on one end but is an easy fix. There is also 2 other 280s that have varios pieces but are just parts cars. Also 1 240z just parts car. I also have an intercooler out of a starian. Another set of performance springs and swaybars for a 280. A set of the I think 5 spoke nice looking z car factory rims. All of my books on modifiing your L Series engines and parts guides. A Kevlar racing seat with with 5 point harnes. It needs a little work on the cover. A set of the z mags the 5 hole z mags. I believe I also have a couple of extra motors sitting around still for parts. I also have I 240z with a new interior and an extra interior I purchased for $300 but have not picked up yet. If you want this car you can have it directly from the man who owns it its not part of the $2000. This car has an L28 and 5speed but needs the wiring harnes. It has rust in the drives floor and the querter panels behind the doors the rest looks strait. It also has a set of the aluminum 5 spoke I think rims that look nice. The car is primered at the moment. I also have a 280z thats is wrecked I that is not at my house that you can have if you would like to pick it up in the next couple of weeks. It ran when wrecked but now needs a radiator and the front of the car fixed. If I sale this for this price I need to sale it right now but I will give you a little while to pick up the cars since I dont live in the city. Email me at pat AT hpnc.com

Well today I am driving home my new Z (see http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=111658#post111658 ) car I have not had a running one in 8 or 9 years give or take. While looking for this one I was thinking about taking out the sound proofing to save weight and doing a v8 conversion etc. Driving the car home that already had the sound proofing taken out and some other things to make it louder etc plus a wheel barring about to die driving 55 or 60 becouse of the low gears I started thinking differently... I need to add really good sound proofing.... I dont need a V8 this L28 with triple webbers is fine since I am not going to be street racing like when I was 19.... I would rather just drive to car shows and be comfortable and the car just run good.... I need to have good highway gears.... etc etc etc. Then I start thinking to myself man I am getting old and I am only 34:) Has any one had this experence:)??

Well I have my new Z finaly. I had been looking for one for a while and made a deal for this one http://www.geocities.com/ellencardona@sbcglobal.net/Pictures/Z/ . I traded a camera and some cash for it. It was a nice car at one time but needs a little love to get it back to good a really nice condition. But he has already done a lot to it. It has the triple webbers, header, almost all bushings, exhoust, swaybars (geting the front one fixed and the back one is the good one that mounts to the dif housing and not the body. Also has the alternator upgrade, electric fans, 3.83 gears I believe, short shifter, centerforce clutch and preasure plate, and came with a kevlar racing seet and 5 point harnes. Runs good and idles good. But it does need a new interior but I just happen to have one:) Its geared to low for using the 4spead I had to drive about 60 the 70 miles home at 3500RPM. So I am going to get the good fivespeed out of one of my parts cars and maybe trade out the dif but not sure. Needs a wheel barring very badly. Need to service the air. Fix a couple of spots on the body, small hole in passangers floor. Probobly change heads he said it has the older model head with the flat top pistons and it deisels a little when you kill it. Needs a brake booster. I also need to change to the early z style bumpers that fit close to the body and go back to normal crome not the blacked out bumbers and crome. Probobly a lot more but thats enought to think about for now.
  14. I live in the area but have not joined one. I might after I get my Z going.

Well unless the body is messed up I have 6 parts cars, about 3 good transmissions and tons of other parts. I am just worried about having to put the body on a machine to get it strait:) Of spending a lot of time welding things back together. But parts those I have. But then again if somethings wrong I will see if I can get a better price;)

Hi I have made a deal for a car pending final inspection. Its a 260z that the owner used to drive and autocross. I am wondering what to check for that could be broken from autocrossing. I know the front swaybar mount needs fixed but that seems to be very common. The car has an L28 with triple webbers and header, performance springs, swaybars, bushings etc. It also still has the air and heater hooked up and the inside is not to bad but I have all the pieces to make it look perfect I think. Any way excited to get the car but want to make sure to know what damage to look for besides rust.

Do you know of any sites with info on doing it. Is it just a matter of heating and cooling the metal and shaping it with a hammer and form?
