Hello how would you go about fixing a top that is a little wavy. It had been bondoed in the past and now has a crack. Would fiber reinforced bondo on top with maybe even a couple of strips of steel underneath work? Whats the best way to fix this?
  2. Ya I guese I can take jack back with me so I can get it up in the air more. I crawled underneath it but did not have a hammer with me. I would like to find Z with no rust but I am not sure it will ever happen I have looked at a lot of them. Even the ones where they told me they stripped it down etc and it had no rust had bondo behind each door and where they rust on the hatch. Oh well I will check it over again when I can get up there.
  3. Hi I looked at a 240z today. Its got a fuel injected L28 but without the wiring finished. Automatic transmission, new interior (2 really), new weather striping etc and a bunch of extra parts for the inside. Any way the framerails at the front where the curve up are perfect but on the passangers side the floor is rusty in the center and about 18" or so of the framerail in the same area. The other side is perfect. Also the querterpanels behind each door. But thats about it. The hatch and the part of on the back around it is fine. The spare tire wheel well looked fine. A little rust on the battery tray but thats about it. On the outside its primired with just a little surface rust and no bondo I could find. They said its a 1970 but the VIN was HS30 93425 so I would think its probobly like a 1972. The plate on the door was primired over so I could not read it and they did not have the title on hand so I could not double check. Any way I think with the rust it has the $300 they said they would take for it is not to bad. Can any one give me any feedback on this? Also can you buy replacement metal for the parts that are rusted. I am pretty sure you can but just got home and have not had time to do a search. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

That one looks very interesting. I live in the area. What do you have to do to be able to go to the auction and bid.

  7. Hmm well I need coilovers so maybe the flares and something for coilovers. Or something with an interesting set of rims. Or bushings. Lets see what else. Anything fiberglass would be interesting like hood, fenders, doors etc. Really just anything interesting I would be happy to talk about. Things I dont need are stock parts. I have several parts cars.
  8. Well you can see the some pictures of them with stock tires and the pricing at.... http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=7BSA Also you can see some photos of the flares molded in to a side piece and the front air dam at ....http://hybridz.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=38368&highlight=coilovers The flares come just primered and ready to put on. The only thing I could find on the was a small chip bottom inside corner of one thats going to get hit by rocks anyway.
  9. Hi I have a new set of IMSA flares I would like to sell or trade. If I sell them I would like $150 for them. I am located in the North Texas Area.

Well it seems I have a few minutes before I need to leave so I took an image of a couple of them and measured them. The panels were dirty as you can see from the pictures when I got them but seem to be solid. I have stored them inside since I have owned them for about 1 year. I am not sure about pricing or trades so just make some offers. I am also not sure if I am going to sell all of them. I keep thinking I can find a good use for them on my Z. Any one have any suggestions on how to use them? Oh and I am in the North Texas area. Any way the specs are.... 30 x 36 x .5 = I have 2 this size. 27 x 36 x .5 = I have 7 this size.

Just wanted to say hi to every one and give them some background since I am new to the board. I have had Zcars since I was about 17 (34 now) and being a big Ford fan also I decided to start working on a V8 Small Block Ford Conversion for a 240z. It seems that watching the video of Darias and his 240z gave me the bug again to get busy and use some of the parts etc I have and build the z I have always wanted. The plan at the moment is to... 1. Find a nice strait 240z to start from. All I have at the moment are 4 parts cars and other parts as my last driver was totaled when a car hit me from behind. 2. Add the pieces I have at the moment that include larger sway bars front and back (for 280z any one know if they will work have not had time to research it yet?) sport springs, imsa style flairs, small BRE style tail etc. And of course upgrade the brakes, wheels, remaning bushings etc and add the Type 3 Fiberglass Air Dam. 3. Finish researching V8 conversion and start ordering all the parts and buying the donar cars etc. I would like to go with a FI 351w and a T5 if it will fit. The only thread I have found the person could not get the 351w to fit. If any one knows if he has it going I live close to the Arlington Texas area he lives in and would love to see it. Any way I figure put in as many cubic inches as possible to start with to save money on building horse power later. 4. Or I just do the smart thing money wise and buy one that someone else already spent the time and money on, let them take the loss and I will just do small updates and drive it:) Any way glad to finaly find this great resource and look forward to learning a lot from every one on the board. PS If any one has a nice strait 240z in Texas and the price is right let me know.
