keyed up
Hey Mike B, I don't think people are attacking you or butting into your business. Patrick just posted a question about the price of a key and who knew? I don't, never had to price one. Some say you can get them, some say its getting harder. Now we have an idea. Nothing personal and your Husky bud was just goofiing with you. Its all good!!

After 4 years, Its finally done!
Mark, great job!!! Its restos like your and Ed's (and many others, I haven't been here that long!) that make me continue to work on mine with the hope that it will look half as nice as yours. Enjoy, now what do you think about English sports cars as projects?

Body rotisserie or regular rotisserie? plus a few questions
Hey Greg, check out some threads by a club member Mull. His name is Philip. He just posted an update to his resto thread not long ago. Fun post but it takes some time to go through it all, it will get you pumped up in the end. My purpose for bringing it up is that he cuts and welds more metal off that car than you will believe and he has it on jackstands!!! I must admit, I bought a rotisserie from a club member and it is a backsaver. But if the budget is tight, you can get by without it. Check it out, the music is fun also!!! Good welding!

Fuel lines
Max, Dave(Dogma240) just posted an article on removal and replumbing of the evap tank. I can't remember if that vent line remains or is eliminated. Will read later and see what he said, should be in the member articles section

Fuel lines
Max, I have the Weber DGVs and they were installed by the local "Z doctor". There was not a fitting to connect the vent line to the manifold and he left the line in place and not connected. I always wondered if I could plug the line or if it had to be open and just venting in the engine bay. If I could plug it at the tank, that would be great. Unfortunately, Z doctor moved and can't ask him. Anybody with ideas??

My 71' 240z project ... =)
Philip, those clips were great. The music was great also, made me dig out an old Prodigy cd and throw it in the truck!! That was better than any fabricating video. It really helped my welding and now I see how to do my battery area. Thanks for the posts, really enjoyed watching each one. My wife now thinks I am insane!!

Hey Jack, know anyone with one of those stud welders, you might be able to pull some of those dents out and not have to have the tank cut

E88 not the best head?
Hey guys I suck at searching for old threads but there was one here that linked to a guys web site that went through all of the combinations that you are talking about. He described all blocks, heads and the combinations. Sorry I can't be more specific but he had it all down, very informative. Maybe someone else knows how to get to that thread. I will keep looking

Brake line/Fuel line refinishing
Kenny, the lines look great and that will really add to the look of the engine bay. I've wondered about that paint and how it looks afterward. Looks like it does quite well. I did mine with some "dull" aluminum colored paint and they came out pretty good, now just to get the engine bay finished!!!

Taillight panels

Spindle trouble
Hey guess what guys, just talked to local Z doctor to try to get some other parts and he said the same thing, they don't replace the outer bushings. They will replace the inboard bushings and call it a day. Well I guess I am either "The Man" or I'm a dumb@@#$. It always comes down to "Well I got it down this far, why not ......". Hope tomorrow is warm so I can paint those control arms!!
-
Hope you southern Z'ers are enjoying the weather
Hey Steven, its too cold for golf and now it means I will have to rig some sort of "booth" in the garage to do any painting!!!! If its not one thing its another. Yeah, Jared we don't have snow, but we did have 75 degree weather until a week ago. Damn!!! Y'all have a good one, ya hear

Spindle trouble
Seems like some hang, some don't.!!!! Hey Adam good point!! Let me try again, the bushing race on the lower control arm(inner) was the one that made me go to the machine shop. STUCK. You guys have a good one

Spindle trouble
Hey, agreed, spindle pin puller is great!!! Wanted it out today and was surprised by the efffortless removal of the one pin. Don't mean to side step the great spindle pin puller, just spent 15'$ and its out!! Thought that was good. If I had time, would have ordered that puller. Now I am ready to reinstall. Thats all. Thanks Marty and the other guys who gave great advice PS, the frozen pin froze one the inner bushing race of the outer bushing(does that make sense?) Came out with the pin.
