Slow Clicking Fast Clicking In Rear
I have a 70z i built 2 years ago not 1 problem i couldnt pin point & fix . Until now. when driving this clicking noise is coming from rear of my z. now this clicking goes in sync the faster i go fast clicking slowing down slow down clicking until i stop at a red light.take off and away we go again with that fricking clicking its driving me crazy . ANYONE experience this before I need some insight on this 1. :sick:

Yes I'm going to use the whole 80zx motor & trans put into the 240z & put the triple webers on it so i'de be replacing the EFI on the N42 head & putting on the webers in place of the EFI on the N42 head & using the E-12-80 ignition distributor

do I have to use the computer brain from the zx motor im putting in to the 240z to make the electronic distributor work correctly I'll be using the 80zx distributor with an E-12-80 ignition i don't want to use the computor brain to do this can this be done

I want to change my240z drivetrain to 280zx drivetrain. I'm not sure if my triple weber carb will bolt up to the 1980zx which has the EFI and N42 head will webers bolt on to the N42 EFI head and can I do away with the computer after i put on the webers. transmission on 80zx is 5speed will that fit in the 73 240z shifing counsel currently I have a 4 speed do I need to cut my counsel to make five speed fit and shift the car. I want to get away from that dam computer crap and give my z some more ponies without having the efi anyone have any idea's or has anyone done this before . Is it simple or a headache :stupid:

This is good info guy's. I allow my Z a 10min warm up, then go for a drive for an hour or so. So i can blow out the carbon & have some fun to.I go from 70mph to 100+ mph very quickly with the help of the , Ld28 crank ,w/late 73, 133mm -9mm 240z rods, using 240sx 89mm flat pistons w/ 0.120" over bore (I did'nt for-see pistons would hit the head)but a friend suggested i use a HKS 2mm head gasket that solved a costly oversight on my part. I do drive the Z hard & it never gets hot. However mentioning my head gasket could be going by curtis 240z has got my curiousity looks like i'll be pulling plugs tomarrow ..Thanks again guy's I was at a loss I will post my findings in the am hours

Scca Solo Ii Event San Diego Ca
Hey Z'ers, on Jan 8th and 9th at qualcomm stadium San Diego Ca , jan 8th practice runs, be there at 7:00am if you want to enter the event . 8:00am you walk the course. you must have your car inspected before 9:00am to enter. And jan 9th championships be there at 7:00am and no later than 9:00 am for inspections. get in your Z's and cruz down there guy's. racing goes on till 5:00pm for both day's. these guy's had'nt seen a 240Z in 5 or so year's . they did'nt even know what class to put me in ,said the Z was not competitive compared to the newer cars of today.well my Z is 35 years old so i can understand why they would think like that. and of course looking at my Z it looks stock x-cept for the enkie 92's and the header which can be seen. It was my first time doing this event so show your support for the Z and come on down. The modifications & upgrades we all do on our Z's to improve performance & handling, test what you've done on a race course .I promise you'll love every second of it... Z.........ya........L8er......

I did disconnect the cold start valve to try & eliminate the soot. my injectors are new .the radiator i don't exactly know what you mean by leaking ,can you narrow down what would cause such a thing. I drive the Z every day for at least 1 hour a day. good combustion. I will go & check my radiator it's been a month since last i checked

Hey Guy's, I have a earlier 70z.I needed more Z power so I put in a F54 block, w/ N42 head ,w/ non-EGR F.I.,w/ 79 dizzy, w/ E12-80 ignition.I put in T-5 Brg/wrner and a 88 300zx se Visc/LSD. My concern is when I start the Z ,this black wet bubbley soot shoots out my tailpipe about 3feet or so. It happens everytime i start the Z. It's all over my drive-way it's a dirty mess the guy next store to me his wife's white Mercedes benz my Z shot out a nasty mess all over her car... anybody have a simuliar experience with this black soot shooting out PLEASE tell me whats going on here. Installed new plugs and wires! car ideling LOW and not running right!
Pull the plugs out & re-gap them to 43 also use anti-sieze on the threads before you install plugs , sometimes you have to fiddle around with plugs on the Z , reference books are"nt always correct. If 43 is worse then gap at 41 trial & error. Note: you may also have to go with a hotter plug depending on condition of your engine, also check your timing. Umm you said your using BP6E plugs uhm!! I used those in my 70z L24 gap 35. My 72-73z"s use BP6ES gap 35. my 83 turbo uses BPR6ES-Y-11 V grooves. The plugs for your 77Z use BP6ES-11 . Autocross Damage
Ask the guy selling the Z where he services the car at and ask the name of the mechanic who works on the guy's Z,if he says he just takes the car to any old shop or if he does his own maintance & repairs.if your hesitant & unsure then locate a shop in your area that specializes in the Z's and get the Z inspected this will cost you some loot maybe $100 ask the guy if he will split it with you so you both know exactly what condition the Z is in and then you can base your decision to buy the Z or not maybe get it cheaper to ZyaL8er 1970 240Z -F54-0.120mm ob-73z rods 133mm-9-Ld28 crank(s)-w/free floating pins & teflon buttons-J&E flattops w/79 dist-E12-80 ign mod w/N42 head w/75 non egr F.I. w/ 77 5speed w/88 visicios lsd diff
