I probably have a set if you are interested let me know. jlp
  2. I might have a set, I will check and see. JLP
  3. For those who may be interested I have attached some photos of the left door as well. These have been stored for over 30 years and some of the paint is flaking off of the inside of the left door.
  4. The photos are not great but they are in great shape we built them and then decided to go another direction so they were not used. The handle location has been shaved.
  5. On the retractable belts the keyhole for the shoulder harness is within the loop where the webbing attaches to the male end of the lap belt. Thus this was missed by Ssnake Oyl. They, rather than re-chrome my ends installed new incorrect ends. I have attached photos of one of my original belts which were returned with my restored belts by Ssnake Oyl.
  6. OK, explain to me how you caught that. I didn't until now. The connection for the shoulder belt is originally under the belt webbing within the loop of webbing sewn to the male connection. You are correct they replaced my connections with the wrong style. I just got off the phone with them (Ssnake Oyl Products) and they wanted to debate with me that my belts did not have this feature. "They have photos". They took the photos of the belts before disassemble and you cannot see the "key hole" for the shoulder harness. I am sending them back for repair. I can see this becoming a problem, I am not going to accept these being taken apart and re-sewn. I want the webbing and the labels replaced along with the correct male connector.
  7. Let me get you a pic.of the passenger door skin and then we can talk. You are close enough that you can save shipping cost. jlp
  8. PS I also have an original windshield if you are still looking for one. jlp
  9. I confirmed that I still have them in the attic of my garage. The drivers skin is set up with a light hinge system with a spring loaded latch and the passenger skin is set up with quick fasteners. They are in perfect condition. The thing is I don't beleive these will fit the cheap part of your quest. JLP
  10. I have one or two from my race car I believe. They are just the skins. I will go out and check and make sure I still have them. jlp
  11. I took some quick photos of the Left Belt now that it is complete. I will post some better photos when I get some more time.:disappoin I am pleased with the outcome but the project was a bit expensive. Let me know what you think.

I have a 73 long block has been sitting for a while. The block should be good but I imagine that the cylinders would have to be bored out due to sitting out so long. I have been trying to give it to someone. jlp Richmond, IN 47374

Thanks Les, I guess now the question is, is the directional sewing of the labels random? Anyone else?

I am planning to post a thread on this similar to my retractable seat belt restoration thread. I have taken dozens of tail lights and the following is my process: First step is to remove the bulbs and wiring Second you have to remove the retainer in the middle of back of the tail light. This retainer is attached to the middle nipple on the chrome trim strip. The best way that I have found to do this is to take a very pointed set of needle nose pliers and squeeze the retainer end to end. The retainer being spring metal will break in the middle. Third is the soaking in hot water this softens the original glues and you can pull the lens from the gray back. If you want to remove the chrome trim from the lens you follow the same needle nose procedure on the two remaining retainers. I use clear adhesive caulk when reinstalling the lens and spring retainers can be purchased at most hardware stores.

Carl, Thanks for the try. I am relatively sure that they got it correct but I want to make sure as soon as possible in case I need to send them back for change. They sent back the old belts but one of the lap belts is missing the label like yours so I can not compare. I did notice that the labels are still on the shoulder harness belts and the labels are both sewn on the same way so when they are installed one will be upside down. I believe that in production they probably sewed the labels on all the belts all the same thus making one upside down and one right side up when installed but like I said I would like to confirm this. Although a little pricy the belts look good.

I just received my restored belts back from Ssnake Oyl products and they look good. I will post a photos on my tread documenting the restoration of the retractable belts. I noticed and did not document prior to shipping them out one way or the other the following and wondered if someone with original retractable seat belts could check it out for me. The left belt white label is face down when stretched across your lab and the top of the label is up (toward roof), the right belt is also face down when stretched across the lap but the label is top down (toward floor). Is the consistent with original installation of the labels?

Does anyone have a photo of an original P-2 sticker on the valve cover of a Series 2 Z?

Carl's clean up should work, wet or dry sandpaper and solvent with a long flat sanding block. Then take a straight edge and check it for flat, I personally would not put the time and energy into the project without having it checked for defects (cracks around the valve seats and guides etc...) JLP
  19. Seat belts sent back to Ssnake Oyl for completion of restoration. With my end of the restoration complete I sent the parts back to Ssnake Oyl for completion of the retractable seat belt restoration. I, at their request, put one retractor back together as to give them a example for their final assembly.
  20. Let me know if you decide to take a look. I would like to give you a list of things to look for to help me make a decision. Thanks jlp

Agreed Carl, Barrett-Jackson has not been a good venue for the Z cars. I would have been bought the car for that in a heartbeat.
  22. I have been looking for a parts car for the fasteners etc... Gave this lead a call, I wish I was closer to take a look to see what parts would be usable. I do know after talking to them that the dash's are both bad and they have not ran for years but they do roll.JLP

I have to agree, never felt any love for the lines of a 2+2 until now. I actually like the look of the roof line and rear quarter window opening. Nice project!
