Stainless Steel Replacement Fastners
I am looking at buying a complete set of Stainless Steel Replacement fastners for my Z restoration project. They are offered by Zcarcreations on ebay as individual sets: body, engine, interior etc... I have been in direct contact and they do offer a complete set for the car. Has anyone used their products? What are the pros and cons of using replacement fastners? JLP

L24 piston markings
This relates to my original question about the overhaul. I would guess that the engine has been overhauled in which case this is most likely a +50 piston set. Factory piston sets were: standard, ovesize 1 tru oversize 5. Measure the piston diameter, STD spec is 82.99 mm to 83.04 with the oversize 5 being 84.47 to 84.52. The importance of this is that if you plan to overhaul the engine it may be at max wear limit which would require you to install cylinder liners in the block. JLP

Engine runs only when choked...
Sounds like an intake manifold leak to me, let us know what you find. JLP

Dash Lights
My 72 has the rheostat just to the right of the steering column and under the face of the dash if yours is the same then there are two screws or nuts one each side of the switch from the back. The black knob pulls off then the switch pushes throught to the back. There are two wires both red with blue trace one having a male and the other a female spade connector. Hope I'm not to late and hope this helps. JLP

Z Restoration Progam
Speaking of NOS parts, I can remember my local dealer calling me to see If I wanted any of our regions NOS parts. They had a list of the available parts and called to let know that it would be my last chance to get them due to the restoration program requesting them. I will try to find my parts receipt to get a date. Also just to make sure we don't double up on research I have requested information from Les at Classic Datsun such as Ser#, Color, which of the 10 Z Stores they went to, etc... JLP

About to buy my 1st z, problem spots?
Look very closely at the frame rails behind the front wheels, where the rails come from unter the floor pan to form the front frame members. As stated above look at the floor pan under the carpets and from the bottom where the frame rails attach to the pan. The dog leg is the extension of the rear quarter panel where it meets the rocker panel under the bottom rear of the door, this is another problem area for rust :nervous: . JLP

Front Valence for '70 240Z
Brandy, Jump on this offer. If they are 1970 - 1974 they should fit. Sounds like a great deal. If you want the early Z spoiler look you might consider buying a early "spook" design spoiler which attaches to the original 3 piece valence. Example would be the early BRE 240Z cars.JLP grunt0311, if Brandy doesn't want these LMK I might pick them up for extras. Thanks

Rear Bumper Rechrome
Hello Chris, Thanks for the help. I think I've decided to put the 72 back together mild comp and selling (or trading) #29 and trying to find an unmolesed low milage 72 or earlier and keep it stock. Thoughts? JLP

Thanks!!! My local speed shop has suggested a plater, I'll talk to him. Now, I have a new front bumper complete (bumper, guards, rubber). Where can I buy new rubber for the rear bumper. I noticed that VB offers the rear bumper rubber but not for the guards. LMK Thanks again, JLP
