Braided raidator hose kit for 240Z finally arrived!!!!!!
that's a little steep but i would definitely consider these based on the similarity to OEM. been looking for an aftermarket solution to at least get close to replicating the original braiding to apply to unbraided currently available hoses. would it be possible to get the rest of the NLA hoses (brake booster vacuum hose) done by the same company as a special run? there might be enough of a demand to warrant a limited production run seeing as they already have the braiding knocked.

Interior overspray.
another vote for lacquer thinner. only thing that worked for me. test on an inconspicuous spot first to determine any damage and how much muscle to use. since it evaporates so fast might take multiple applications to work.

Electrical Problems , Please Help!
have read that you should replace the voltage regulator when replacing the alternator. don't know if it's a 'bad alternator will blow a regulator' thing or it's a 'if one dies, the other is sure to follow' thing. measure the voltage at the battery with engine running after initial start, if not more than 12.5 volts with a known good alternator, i'd replace the regulator.

**Wrecked**
Really sorry for the loss. I know it'd kill me after all the time spent refreshing mine to have it wrecked. Don't know if your state laws are the same, but if they total it and you buy it back, you will probably get a salvage title. Makes it difficult if not impossible to sell in the future. Might have to force negotiate for settlement less than the "Totalled" allowance to avoid salvage title.

Front left strut. 71 240Z
Roger (ZBarn) is a one-man show so it might take a while to get a response. But i can definitely vouch for his parts and integrity. He sold me a rear brake line he said was in good condition and when i got it it was in excellent condition. Support him because he supports us...... in keeping our Z's on the road.

What is the hardest to find early Z car part?
Replacement antenna mast NLA for the original antenna. Have been even looking for a generic to 'modify' to fit.

What is the hardest to find early Z car part?
All the braided hoses, while still available as OEM, are a pain to find. considering that the OEM flavor are at least 20 years old, i don't trust the integrity of the 20 yr old rubber. i've been trying to find a type of braiding that i can put over a new plain hose that will replicate the look of an OEM hose.

No water circulation
just a shot and i could be full of **** but...... do you have any idea if this engine was ever rebuilt (diff head bolts or something out of stock like gasket color, etc)?? possibly the wrong head gasket was installed and is blocking some of the internal ports???

Pay it forward!!!
Marty, Ashtray recv'd, repaired (decent job if i do say so myself) and now has home in my console. VERY much appreciated. and now to keep paying it forward.......... 1 set (used) visors in red. good shape, no tears, slight silver overspray looks like it can be cleaned off or left.------TENTATIVE 1 set poly bumpstops (new) in blue------------- GIFTED 1 set poly bushings (new) in black for rear struts------------- GIFTED 1 pass rear wheel cylinder (new) for 240z with brake hard line straight out from cylinder. My '71 had the angled brakeline and I had this one too long before i went to install to return.------------- GIFTED 1 set (used) quarter window louvers. Black plastic (ABS?) driver's side has 1 crack looks to be repairable, pass side no cracks. Slightly faded, i'd recommend a quick spray.------TENTATIVE

Winter conditions!
I'm lucky, i've got a little pot belly stove in my detached garage. hasn't been too cold here yet. when temp drops, i'll go out and start a fire a half hour before i want to work. if i keep it going, i can maintain about 50 degrees (higher if i really feed it) which for me is really comfortable to work. used to work in a chemical warehouse on a forklift in 40 degree weather, so 50-55 is OK by me.

help with lost power
are you running with points for ignition? if so, another wild shot in the dark. check the condenser in the dizzy. long ago as a kid, was 'helping' my dad work on an old buick and accidentally floored the pedal. engine screamed and then shut down, when finally restarted after many attempts ran like crap. replacing condenser solved issue. never understood why, but there you go.

help with lost power
which car are we talking about here? you have 2 in your profile. if it's the 240Z, you're already getting worthwhile things to check. if it's the '82 280zx......someone can correct me (please) i believe they came with a catalytic converter. you said earlier the exhaust sounded like a low rattle. is it possible the internals of the cat let go and are plugging the exhaust flow? sounds like the typical symptoms of a plugged exhaust, idles fine, dies at higher revs.

ZBarn
Just wanted to throw a big thank you and boost to Roger at ZBarn. http://www.zbarn.com/ He saved my a** when i busted the driver's side brake line on my Z while redoing my rear suspension. Contacted him, answered very timely. Had the part and described it as in excellent condition. Received it very quickly in excellent condition (especially for a 38 year old part). He was a real pleasure to deal with and just felt like letting you all know I'm a very satisfied customer.
