  1. Yes, it's a "doodoo" brown 72.
  2. That sounds like really good advice beandip. My mind is racing with things that I perceive will make the Z "better" when I really don't even know the car yet. Just for personal reference, do you know if the transmission is stamped anywhere on the car?
  3. Anyone have an idea of what a fair cost is of an original, used 4spd transmission setup in good working condition? What's the best non-eBay place to get it? Looks like I'll FINALLY be purchasing my Z later this week after a very long search It's an auto and I'm seriously considering the switch. Aside from changing the Z from its original factory specs, are there any other issues/drawbacks to go along with the switch? Is the transmission code even located on any of the data plates? Aside from some aftermarket seat upholstery, the car is basically bone stock. Mike

  5. Question for the group... Assuming all things equal, how much would it affect the "value" of a Z if one was to change the paint color from the original brown to a different color such as red, silver orange? In other words, let's say there were 2 240Z's side by side and both were totally restored. One was the original brown color and the other was previously brown but was professionally repainted red, silver or orange, how much more would one expect the brown one to sell for? Does it matter? Mike
  6. (I posted this in another thread, thought I'd post it here as well) Hello all, I am (and have been) actively in the market to purchase my first Z. After about a year of frustrating and unsuccessful attempts here, my efforts have led me to the West Coast. There is a Z that I am interested in that is located in the Sacramento area. I am out of state (TX), and, as nervous as it makes me, would be unable to see the car before purchase and am wondering if any members know of any 3rd party inspection companies in the area that can give it a good once over to verify everything is in good, working order. The owner seems legit, I'm just skeptical by nature. If not, not to be presumptuous, are there any members that would mind checking the car out for me? Please send me a PM if you know of anyone. Thanks a bunch. Mike
