  1. Marty, A wheel bearing going out, has kind of like a squeaking (as it rotates) sound.

It's been done.....BBC in a Z car! Hybridz has a wealth of information in it's achives. All you have to do is search and read!
  3. Yah! We should all be thrown in jail. Don't forget Carl, cause I'm sure he would be on the list too! Better yet....what if we took up a collection to pay for a one way ticket for TomoHawk to come out to SoCal for a blanket party??? Are you up for it TomoHawk?
  4. What the hell are you trying to buy now Victor...just kidding! So you think MSA has issues....how about 80% of all businesses who have people answering their phones. Crap, some can't even speak plain english. The situation that always kills me is when you call technical help and wind up with some totally inexperienced youth who doesn't know his arsse from a hole in the ground. I blame this sort of thing on the management of the firm. Yes, times are changing! If evolution continues in this manner, we'll all be climbing trees again soon!!! Venting is good Victor!
  5. Here's a quote for TomoHawk......."There is no taste so bitter as one's own foot inserted in one's mouth"!!! TomoHawk, my, my, my, you poor boy! I quess you're just a glutten for punishment. When will it dawn on you that you are acting like a complete moron! Please seach some help!

Ben, I am planning on going for at least one day, likely saturday, but you know how plans can change. I'll look for your 260. I'll be driving my 240. By the way, who is managing the corral this year?
  7. I tend to agree with Lance......better for what application. As a general trend in the automotive world , I think its obvious which engine design is more efficient! Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but what's new about that? As far as stuffing a sbc or sbf into a Z car....go for it, if that's your flavor. Would be pretty cool to have 400 hp in a well setup Z and for a reasonable price (engine wise anyway). Crap, if everyone agreed on one engine...life would be pretty boring!!!

    Either can be purchased!

FYI, At the end of this month Laguna Seca is hosting the Historical races. The marque this year is the Chaparell (spelling?). Check out the Laguna Seca web site for details. These historical races are a hoot!

Good advise.......If I remember correctly, leaving the jaws together allows the anvils to corrode over time, throwing the zero calibration off. Again, very good advise!
  11. Yah, they are relatively the same shape but the tapered bolt for the Z is quite a bit larger than the bicycle crank arm pins you mention.
  12. No, not, won't work properly....as mentioned it is a special bolt particular to that application.

If the fastener I'm thinking of points down and is at the center outside end of the transverse link, it is likely the tappered locking bolt for the transverse link spindle. It can be replaced by driving whats left of the bolt up and out.

Have you checked out MEGASQUIRT FI management systems?
  15. There is a saying my good friends use....."Friends don't let friends buy junk"!!! Looks like a ton-O-work to me. I suppose if one were to get this Z for under $1K and planned to do a complete overhaul (of everything).
  16. Easy there big boy....lifes too short to get your panties in a bunch! Nate, I think Mr. Mortensen was agreeing with your statement.

    Mike, mine's at 40 :classic:
  18. I'd love to have the Rebello motor (no tranny needed). Whats your selling price. I live in SoCal, so we'd have to figure out shipping....but that another issue. Tom
  19. Thanks for the address Dan. I didn't see any flyer in your post....at least it didn' show up when I opened your post. Thanks again!

What an impressive performance......and seven years in a row! Of course we all know it was a team effort. I'm a diehard mountain biker and have been pretty serious about riding for over 20 years now. What really puts things into perspective is that the slowest and weakest guy in the pellaton is light years ahead in abilities compared to even the fittest local riders I know. I've always said that I wish I was just half as strong as the weakest guy in the Tour De France..........Oh, I'm a dreamer. I tend to believe that the average american has absolutely no clue as to how fit these tour guys are and what is involved to become that good. The Tour De France is one of the greatest sporting events in the world....how come its given so little attention in the USA? I'm sorry but the vast majority of americans are a bunch of lazy fatass couch potatoes worrying about...well, what ever it is they worry about! Lance and his team are the greatest Tour De France riders to ever come around and will likely not be matched anytime in the near future. Congratulation Team Discovery Channel. We will miss you Lance!
  21. Damn! That was a great story......wished to hell I could have seen that one!!!
  22. Might be able to attend if I knew where it was being held??? P.S. Bill, you better leave right now if you plan on being there...where ever there is!
  23. Hey KATS, I just noticed the s/n on your 240 (2156)....interesting, mine is s/n (2126) mfg date of 3/70! Just thought I'd mention it.

Have you thought about contacting ENKEI?
  25. Interesting comments all! I believe the only reason for the OHC vs OHV is to reduce valve train reciprocating mass to obtain efficiency and higher RPM. If you through enough $$$ at either design you will get the horsepower. Comparing one engine to another vs OHV vs OHC is just two separate issues.
