  2. My daily driver is an oh so common white 2003 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner Xtra cab with a matching shell....very nice and reliable. My other vehicles are...2002 Honda CRF450R set up for desert riding, three different type mountain bikes, and two road bikes. Uuuuuh, quess what I like to do most of all?

    I have to agree with Enigma, the GT-R looks pretty happening! I think they would be missing the boat if they don't go with all wheel drive......like the originals had! Very much like the G35, yes......nice car!

    deedee, along with all you've done.....be sure to check the main ground lead to the chassis as they will corrode over time and create a big resistance in the circuits. This resistance will cause the wiring in the circuits to get overly hot. Tom
  7. Well xxjoeyxxeb, from the looks of your exhaust and the pic deeddee provided, it seems yours is stock. However, finding the actual leak location is another story, to which you'll just have to seek it out......or, just replace the exhaust system and be done with it. Happy hunting!

  9. Robert, Just a thought but, some of the rebuilt auto parts now days are just crap....even though they may advertise a great warranty. I personally went through 3 rebuilt dizzys, that were all f'd, before I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a Mallory Uni-lite.......it's been working flawlessly ever since! If by chance you go the route I took, Summit Racing has the lowest price I could find for the Mallory dizzy.....about 1/2 of what MSA charges.

    Just a note...polishing the intake runners is a no no! Fuel will stick to the polished surface and decrease performance. Smooth is good, polished is not!

    Well, you can eliminate the old external VR by changing to a later model internally regulated alternator. Do a search for the details. A little rewiring at the connection point and adding a diode is about all that is required. I've done the conversion and is really pretty simple plus it provides less clutter in the engine bay. Just an idea!
  13. I'm with Miles.....the 82-83 ZX 5spd I installed in my 1970 is certainly shorter than the original 4spd. I had to remove about an inch from the forward portion of the tranny tunnel, where the shifter comes out, to get the clearance I needed. However, I believe demensions changed in late 71 and for 72 models....not certain on this though!

  16. Specific answers are just a phone call away, to Arizonazcar. Regarding the "tendency to crack in certain applications", all metals are subject to your comment. Proper engineering and testing usually address that matter. Oh, and you should thank your wife profusely for buying you the Lotus....very, very cool cars!!!

    Guys, You are not alone in the fear of getting caught in the rain! If it even looks like a chance of rain......no drivey the Z!!!! Only once did I get caught in a light sprinkle coming back from lunch in Santa Barbara with a number of other Z folks. Fortunetly, it cleared long enough to make home base and get her in the garage before it actually rained! I just can't imagine all the crap that would get all over the nicely done undercarrige and have to clean it up.

    Victor, IIRC wasn't there a parking issue last year....not enough room? If so, has it been addressed and resolved. If there are going to be more cars and people this year I hope the parking situation is under control.

Christopher, It is possible for a high frequency signal, with sufficent SPL, to be heard by an animal who is capable of hearing high frequency, over the lower frequency signals produced from general road noise. Animal hearing ranges are quite different from a human's range of hearing. The frequency responce from this type whistle is beyond a humans hearing capability. Of course one would have to determine the SPL level of the whistle and that will vary depending upon the speed it is traving through the air. It would however require some relatively expensive equipment to measure the frequency and SPL. There are just too many variables to consider to simply say...."There is no way"! P.S. By the way, I'm not implicating that these whistles do or do not work!
  24. Don't forget about bleeding and freshening up your brake fluid with a good high temp fluid! You beat me to it John!
  25. Shoot, you learn something new every day! I'm quessing but, based on my serial number (2126 3/70) they must have changed over to the plastic caps some time between Feb. 1970 and March 1970, as my cap are the black plastic units.
