need suspension advice!
The most likely cause of the poor handling is the 30+ years old rubber bushings. Specifically.......all of them. Replace ALL of them with urethane units....each and every last one of them and follow the directions!!! Regarding the springs.....what do you want the car to do? Street cush, moderate cornering, maximum street performance, or track/auto-X? Replacement springs are available for just about all applications, even if you decide to go with coilover kits. So, if the car bottoms out too easy, in your opinion, you need stiffer springs. Get yourself a decent set of strut inserts (shocks) at all four corners as well. Hope this helps a little!

tenzo rally racing seats?
Yah, they look the same as the $200.00 units I viewed on the Tenzo website. Hay, you gotta give the guy credit for trying. Even at $800.00 he is way too high. You could buy 4 new ones for that!!! Have you looked at SPARCO or MOMO. They have entry level racing seats that start around $200.00 ea. Nicer quality than the Tenzo units IMO.

tenzo rally racing seats?
Jason, You are correct about the U.S. pricing, unless of course this guy had them custom covered in leather?!!. I would be causious about the people selling the seats, based on the info they provided, and don't let your emotions control your decision. There are many good and reasonably priced seats that will fit the Z. The available seat width in the Z is fairly narrow and if you are a taller person you have to consider how much head to headliner clearance you can live with. Let us hear about what you encounter. Good luck

a 10 point restoration
I saw the car and I have to agree with Victor, it's certainly looked correct in every detail....at least under the hood.

hhhmmm What do ya think
It's funny how people will tell you that something is in good condition (for it's age...give me a break) when it is really just worn out and or shot!!! Do they think that if they say it enough times it will become true or something!!! To me, they look like just another old pair of Z car seats that need work and are still pretty easy to find for next to nothing! Heck, I've got a pair out of my 1970 that are nicer than the ones pictured on Ebay. And when was the last time you heard of a 1969 240Z state side? Just my 2 cents worth.

I think I F'd up my carbs
Well, you will likely have a clean set of carbs with all their non metalic parts dissolved. Just purchase the needed items (dissolved items) and rebuild them. No biggy!

lift needle piston, symptoms for which carb?
Well, Let's think about it.........what happens when you lift one of the needle/slide assys? Isn't lifting the needle/slide essentially the same as leaning the mixture for that particular carb (a whole lot more air than fuel)? So thats probably why, if it's a bit too rich, it will continue to run and if it's a bit too lean it will start to stumble and die. So it most likely indicates the mixture of the carb you are lifting the needle/slide on. Does this uncloud the picture a bit better? I hope so!

Location Poll
I reside in Santa Paula California. It's approximately 12 miles inland from Ventura (beach town). Nice little town! Anyway, my Z likes it......warm and mostly dry year round. Great access to many twisty back roads with little traffic and patrolman. A great area for using up your favorite set of tires. P.S. I really wish I was in OHIO.........NOT!!! Just pulling your leg TomoHawk

lift needle piston, symptoms for which carb?
Steve, If I may suggest...........purchase the video from Ztherapy. It will answer your question as well as other questions regarding the SU carbs.

Dash Covers? Look!
I've also installed the full dash cover from MSA and I'm more than happy with it and the way it went on. Took a little prep work to get it to my satisfaction but as far as I'm concerned it looks like a new dash. Regarding the speedo and tach issue. Somehow I don't think I'll ever have to remove them again! If so, I think I'd rather remove the dash than try and work up side down and contorted on the floor pan!!! I'm sorry but I'm not 20 years old anymore. Anyway Datsun-Fever, If done properly, they do look very good and they're a heck of a lot less $$$ than a new or remanufacturted dash, IMO!

Best looking Z you've ever seen?
My vote goes to a Z owned by a gentelman named Tod Kaneko. I'm sure you've all seen it..........it's an orange 72, If I remember correctly, It's turbo charged and sits oh so nicely. Under the hood looks like something that adorns wings. He also has a matching 510 to go with it. If I new the procedure, I'd post the pic.....but I don't......Sorry! Maybe someone can help out here.

Stock or Racing Seats
Gav, Your a young guy and probably like to live near the edge of the envelope from time to time. And, one of those times is probably in the Z car. So, get your wallet ready for a little exercise and go order up the racing seats you've been dreaming about. You know, it's kind of like having great horsepower but all you have are crappy tires to put it to the ground. For about $400.00 (US) you can have a nice set of SPARCO entry level race seats that hug you ever so nicekly. However, if you insist on the stock look and a soar back redo the original seats so you can enjoy the sliding around. That's just my two cents worth..........I sure do love my SPARCO's!!!

Dashboard Decoration
Well Carl, I couldn't agree more. Isn't it interesting how the Z car and sex evoke similar emotions?

Dashboard Decoration
The only thing on my dash is a radar detector!!! Actually it's not on the dash but stuck on the windshield above the dash. Does that come close to counting? Ok, there is some occasional dust on my dash. But, I know what I'd really like sitting on my dash!!! But I can't mention it here. And besides, I don't think she would fit.

A quiz for the freaks....
How about all the odd sized nuts behind the wheel of these Z cars!!! ROFL Somehow I don't think there are any wrenchs that will fit them. So you might ask, what size is a Znut? I think they come in an assortment of sizes, various finishes, and or sex.
