+1 on what tlorber said, best to upgrade what will be needed prior to HP upgrade, then it'll be a more sound decision. I drove a buddy's Z for a week (5spd, SU's, e-dizzy) and loved it to no end. Each onramp was "geez these mirrors are tiny, get on safely... then "where is the nearest 911 in the fast lane" absolutely intoxicating. (and TLorber knows which car I was in) Brake technology has advanced a lot since then.
  2. << That "stash" looks an awful lot like Victor Laury's old stash of parts. >> Nope. All of his parts stayed local, and we are helping to sell them off, with proceeds going to Victor. Some will be seen in Classifieds on here soon, probably after New Years, with same "proceeds go to.."

<< Are you the same Fergus that helped Mike from Livermore pick up my old blue 240Z? >> No, but the odds of meeting someone else named Fergus, when NOT in Ireland, are like being hit by lightning!

I went and saw Victor a week ago (well, the weekend of the MSA show, so that is a bit more than a week). He appreciates all the support, and I don't mean to speak for him, but he REALLY needs the support right now (and I don't mean financially) Victor is sharp, and as bright as ever. He will have a long, tough road getting back to being physically able to enjoy his Dats-toys, but we are trying to help with that. The Z is for sale and the roadster is on the raffle trail, the 510 and 521 truck are keepers for the moment. (background: I am a Dats-roadster guy, to whom Victor gave and gave and gave of his soul and Datsun knowledge, and we shared (and will share) many laughs, and many twisty roads (though not enough of either of those two categories) I took his Z-car for a weekend to help get it to the MSA show, and do a few minor interior/cosmetic things, and I can tell you I was taking it easy but IT ROCKS. He needs our prayers, thoughts and our collective strength. (PM me and I can check on the raffle ticket specifics, I am closely in touch witht he hoster, and this is all above board, benefitting the guy we owe so much to for all his favors, generosity, sefllessness. 5. Hi folks. I am a longtime roadster guy, been lurking/learning on here for a long time, and am a longtime friend of Victor Laury. A group of us are helping to sell his Z car, but I was only able to drop-off/pick-up at the MSA show in Orange on Sunday. So now to make a 1/2 way intelligent ad listing, I need help quantifying what this car has on it, other than SpeedStar SSR Mk2's, a breathed on exhaust, and a 280ZX 5 speed. Anyone in the North Orange County / Long Beach / Torrance / El Segundo area that could spend like 30 minutes and throw an eye over it and help me make a list of things (preferred head, matching #' engine? -I don't think so on this item -etc) would be greatly appreciated. He is a great guy, gave all to whomever needed it, and needs our help however we can. thanks, fergus.ofarrell55@REMOVETHISgmail.com remove what is in caps, thanks FergusO
  6. Can someone do me a favor and measure the thickness of their headlight covers? I am creating some for a 69 Roadster (SRL311). Have done all the searches, read about mounting, sealing, condensation, etc. Thanks for the help folks. Fergus O 69 SRL311, Los ALamitos, CA PS: Geez, first "haedlight", then "healight", if everyone typed like me we'd find NOTHING in any searches...
