  1. I believe mine rides that close as far as moustache bar to downlinks. I too have an early 9/71 using a r180. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  2. Damn Cliff -you hit it! Don't mean to clutter up Jim's thread. Bottom line is that once again life gets in the way. Really want to hang out with you guys and the car is running good. Last year was a disaster , but I was hoping to do it this year . Maybe I can make some other events that are close to you guys and fits in the schedule. My sons career has us hopping. Ian will be qualifying for 2 events in swimming. While I'm here- was it determined that you had to have a passport to do this show? I was confused by what I read Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  3. Too much on my plate this year. Spending my vacation watching my son at Olympic trials . Like I say every year- maybe next year:( Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  4. A bit of gruff sometimes with his posts , but a wealth of knowledge and benefit to the Z community. One person I was hoping to meet at a Z show someday. Awful news guys. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club

  7. So I have my Wesco belts mounted. Is it normal to have a twist in the belt or did they mount the male connector upside down. I can't get this twist out unless the retract mechanism is put on upside down- which can't be done. Well once again I can't upload from my phone. The twist is right by the retractor and the belt DOES lay flat across my chest.
  8. Start with the basics . Make sure nothing is loose like grounds , linkage , loose bolts that can cause a vacuum leak, or anything that can cause a vacuum leak. a loose lead on the dizzy will make you swear it's the carbs. Just today I was driving around -pretty hard on her- and it ran great . Then all the sudden it acted lean and was popping a bit at the carbs. Vacuum plug had blew off of my vacuum log. Car still ran okay, but wanted to die at intersections, and didn't feel quite right. Assumed it was fuel pump, stuck float , ect....
  9. I've never seen washers there either.
  10. Okay, I think I see that now-sorry for the worries
  11. Anyone else think the last lobe looks a little weird? Looks like there is a chip out of it and kind blue on the top of the lobe. Maybe nothing and pictures can be decieving
  12. I've sold stuff in a matter of minutes on Facebook- Datsun parts and needs
  13. 24 or 27mm or English equivalent . You need to turn it from under the car. If you lay down in front of the car and reach under there you can slip the socket on that big bolt . Just push the fan blades out of the way. Put your ratchet on there and turn. I thought the very last lobe looked weird and still can't make it out, but maybe camera is fooling me. One more pic directly on that lobe
  14. No- the bottom pulley bolt -crankshaft and post a picture of those last camshaft lobes close up
  15. Don't use the camshaft bolt, use the crank bolt
  16. Might wait to see how my 8" er works out before you go to 6" -sounds :-0 I fought with the drivers seat today. Second seat is going faster but still having obstacles . Power recline adds linkage in the wrong place for fitment. The linkage hits the seat rail bulkhead , see pic. I removed the seat cushion for most of work on the drivers side. It makes seeing things much easier, but the seat cushion has all the controls attached to it, so you have to plug all the connectors back in the check your work every time. Well some of my pics are not loading,
  17. The 8" belt is just for my 350z seat application. The belt attaches to the seat frame. A lot higher than floor mounted. Probably could have used a 6" belt. Have new sets on the way.
  18. You guys said roadster belts so I should have been paying attention. The sash would be a nice add if there was a place to put it. I did use the belts I got to see how things would bolt up and line up. I realized after studying the 350 seats that the receiver end actually bolts to the seat frame and not the car. Good thing because I'm running short on room. Looks like the 8" belt will be more than long enough for my application. The hardware kit was a good investment because the bolts work everywhere I need them to. Might not use the angle brackets , but they might come in handy later.
  19. Nevermind, I see I ordered the wrong ones-DAM
  20. I got my belts today but I am confused as to how it works . The instructions show only mounting the retractor on the floor, no other options. Did I get the right one! These are 3 pt retractable WELR. It has a sash guide that needs to mounted somewhere, so that's why I think I might have the wrong belts.
  21. Yeah, but not nearly as cool as a shiny red catch can with hoses coming out of it:)
  22. Probably hard to find and or follow on mine. Down in left front corner . I pull vacuum off the center of the vacuum log. Got lucky that an old booster hose actually routed correctly around everything. I went with the catch can because I also run a MAP sensor off the vacuum log also. I was actually getting oil condensation in the MAP hose.
  23. I went ahead and ordered the Wesco belts based on your recommendations guys. It was going to be very difficult to get mine to fit and I need every spare mm for this install. I had to get out the BFH and do some interior body work on the trans tunnel . It gets tight back towards the bulkhead and won't allow the seat to go all the way back. It didn't take much , but it is altering the body which might bother some folks. Other than that its a matter of making the brackets sit as low as possible to maximize head room. Right now the seats sit stock height, but I'm shooting for enough room to fit a helmet.
  24. Sold
