Found this twin su sc pic on the net Float hinge orientation would lean in the corners so it may be for drag racing?

I have a friend who fought in the Bulge. Infantry.
  6. BTW when he talks of the Z community I recall that he was missing a hubcap and Baddog, John Jeffrey brought one the next day to the convention for him.
  7. I am not the internet police... the net is full of crap... we might as well all turn off our computers if one is not permitted to point to a site that has errors. Some of us here just like the cars and like driving you know. We are not proof readers.
  8. I have not opened it but I would think it was the smaller size. The car was an '88 turbo s12 with 4.11 R200.
  9. The internet is full of errors and lies. These are similar to pot holes in roads.... one learns to steer around them and enjoy the ride. That article also has 4 of the highest quality photos of a Z that I have seen on the net. This alone makes it worthy to look at.

  12. Don't forget the 240sx transmission swap. I think some 300zx's have the same unit. I got one from a 200sx turbo.
  13. Another one.... great wife! 240Z Wall Clock by zgear240z
  14. What a great Christmas...my wife dreamed of chasing down a car to find it was a Datsun but then "only a 280zx" That's my girl. Got a nice cross slide milling table and a great gift card from Dr. 240z that will magically turn into a plasma cutter. Woohooo Merry Christmas.
  15. Put a close fitting pipe over the bolt and bend it back.
  16. They clean up nice.

Holding WOT curve is from smoothly accelerating from lugging to Max RPM. The EFI or carb can manage it efficiently. The voltage demand spike going from cruise to WOT occurs from a few things combining: richer mix, increased load, changing gears, and shorter time to build charge. I'm not sure how they can claim it exceeds the voltage of any inductive system and then misfire however it seems to be the more demanding state where a misfire is likely to occur if the system is not capable of delivering sufficient voltage to spark in the chamber's environment.

Made in China... most of Asia is ok (including Taiwan and vestiges of Hong Kong)....Mainland China is absolutely alien...been there and worked there.

My guess is that a part has fallen off. Here is an exploded view. 32/36 DGEV DGAV You can get parts at the same place.

Finally had a chance to try out my Harborfreight dual action polisher. I bought it in June in Houston. Upon opening the box it was missing a screw in handle...hmmm they seem to have got the extra brushes in the kit. When I powered it, it vibrated but would not spin. I also tried a composite block sander from Princess Auto. It has a complex 3 part lever for opening the clamp for holding the paper. It makes placing the paper a snap... problem is it won't hold the paper. It slides out after a few strokes. Moral of the story...beware crap from China and try it in the store first before committing.

I think because the old ECU was 100% an analogue computer, they had to do everything relative to the supply voltage and use ways to compensate where required...like the AFM. If your system monitors the DC bus then you can compensate in code.

Rail voltage can drift (bat 12.0V to bat 12.8V to alt 12.8v to alt 14.8 v or more) so cleverly real-time-scaling by measuring a reference (the value of a voltage divider circuit) can help keep thing under control. Especially during transients to the bus (such as turning on lights)
  23. that was a cool way to pass two cars at once...under braking....just traction, handling, and nerves.

Well this will help someone in the future They will have a laugh too. Merry Christmas!
