  1. Nah, I think you stumbled across the 280z's paint code: "305 light poly blue". Fred Flintstone invented a super glue in his garage in a similar fashion ...I remember it as a kid:)
  2. I don't mind it. Reminds me of Cinelli Blue (famous racing bike colour from the 80's). The first Z I drove (77 280z) was that colour...sort of:
  3. It may be a good idea to make a variant of that bumper so that it stops the window higher. The top of the glass should just stop with the top edge of the squeegee so that it is held firmly at the top by Mr. fuzzy, Mr. squeegee and Mr. roller. This prevents rattling of the glass if it were wound down further.
  4. those hands will toughen... Keep it clean and wear gloves for a while when working.... don't stop.
  5. Just bought 147 and I'm happy.

Most antenna need to be outside of the cab as it is a faraday shield.

I just did quick and dirty set-up of a 260z yesterday and set the air into each cab to "9.5" on the EMPI synchonometer gauge at idle. Not sure of the rpms.

  10. It is interesting it is on TB's and Carbs. Bearings/Bushings, linkage and TV are common to both so no elimination due to EFI change. btw my 2004 Rav4 has electronic throttle and it is jerky and insensitive at low speed... I think it is the programmed curve or lack of fine digital granularity at low pedal travel region.
  11. I am not fussy. I have a lot of welding to do.

Here is another that uses the floor: 240Z frame drawing sketchup - Blogs - Classic Zcar Club I am now leaning to the datum line being the floor because the frame rail rises above the floor in the large groove behind the rear seat mount and because the seat mounts rest on the red line.

The floor line has the frame rail (floor support) welded to it. This is clear to see in the drawing at least!

Hmmmm I looked closer and it seems the reference datum line (red) is below the floor (blue) so maybe I was correct and the bottom of the rocker pinch-weld is the vertical reference? Have a look:

The attachment may help. It seems the author had the same difficulty as you and assumed the bottom of the floor was the reference. I looked at '72 to '78 FSM's and could not find the reference stated. Datsun only shows drawings and it looks higher than the frame rails for certain however I would have assumed it to be the bottom of the rocker pinch-weld. If the rocker pinch-weld is lower than the frame rails then it can not be the reference. I hope this helps. 240Z-chassis-jig.pdf
